Over the past 6 months I have been dedicated to starting my own IM firm, spending countless hours and money on improving my website, studying SEO, and branding my name. On top of that the money I have put into my site and software. I am proud to say that it has all paid off, with ONE sale! I had a client contact me to build a website for his nail salon, I met with him and he was ready to move forward. After receiving the payment today, the feeling of success and motivation was unbelievable. This motivates me to keep working hard and I hope it motivates other IM'ers and Web Designers too. Needless to say, none of this was possible without the help and all of the information from BHW. Many thanks to everyone on this forum!

Congrats for sure. I remeber my first client. Some will come and go but it feels good to get monthly payments that can pay your bills LOL. Keep at it and push the fact that 2013 is soon here and they will want to start fresh for the new year. Great way to pull in new clients for hte next few months

I remember my first virtual "client". I busted my a** to earn 20 bucks, yes only 20, but I was so happy. The feeling that just earned (any ammount) working from home is something really nice. I was feeling like the smartest guy in the neighbourhood.
One more thing, without those 20 Bucks I probably wouldn't be here now, since I spent 3 months trying to get my first job and those $20 pushed me forward, nothing could stop me.

Don't wanna harsh you buzz but I'm at that stage when I'm telling my pottential SEO clients to go away because dealing with clients is really boring and stressfull and at the end not worth the time. Just my opinion though, you may feel different.

The first Client is great and something to build on/work with and leverage for more jobs - in terms of a reference.

Just keep in mind not every client is a good client - so try to avoid people who may cause you grief... which you will learn to spot pretty quick.

Good stuff, it pays off when you don't give up :). I have an interview with a local business for some ongoing S.E.O work - he was impressed by my experience, so am hoping I am lucky as you for this one :).

Fantastic.... now over deliver on everything and you'll get word of month recommendations, not to mention a nice site, and rankings data to present as part of your portfolio. It's a nice feeling isn't it :)

    Well done.
