Just a quick little insight tip for you guys, while this is an extremely simple little tip, it's probably a method of building links that is often time overlooked or not thought of. I'm all about diversity when it comes to building links which is why I tried this in the first place. Yesterday, I built a Google + profile for one of my car insurance sites (No SEO has been done on this site) and at the time of creating the Google + profile/page, my position for my keyword was 64. I just checked SerpBook and I went from 64 to 59, now I'm not 100% sure if it was from the Google + link but what I do know is that "no other" links have been built to this page. The ranking I already had was just from posting very high quality content. This is for a highly competitive keyword and I was quite surprised to see a jump in ranking, even though it was only by 5 positions. After all, the link was free and only took me 2-3 minutes to build. Give it a try if you'd like on your site(s) and report back here if you see any sort of movement(s).
