So I am kind of new to IM, been reading around on this site a lot, and on Warrior... Set up a bunch of blogs I was living off of for a little while until the Google update... Setting up an authority site now.

Anyway, I've been offered a job by a local brick and mortar SEO company. They need to hire somebody for link building etc.

Do you think this is a good opportunity for me? I'm thinking I would learn a lot about SEO and link building by working for them. Or do you think I should continue as I am, just reading a tonne on here? I feel that I am very slowly beginning to grasp link building concepts... Though Penguin 2.1 turned that on its head as I'm not sure blog commenting is even good anymore (or how to find high PR blogs in my niche which allow comments)... I actually built my first link today... Signed up to a forum in my niche, posted a link to my homepage in a relevant place and pinged the forum thread page. Not sure if that's right.

Went a little off topic there sorry lol :)

Of course you should take the job. You will be making money, while learning more about SEO. Who could ask for anything better? And while your at home, just keep doing what your doing now. Win Win!

Grab every opportunity that comes in your way. This job opportunity will help you widen your understanding of link building plus you could learn new things from them. :)

OP, I think you may full of BS or somebody is playing a joke on you.

An SEO company wants to hire you to carry out link building duties when you know nothing about link building. Seems legit.

Where did these headhunters find you?

Go visit them first, see how they operate etc.

    If it's legit - take it :)

I did an apprenticeship in IT last year. One of my friends on the course was taken on as an apprentice by this company and is now working there full time. I posted something to my Facebook wall about my newest website. My mate saw it and I got into a conversation about how I've been setting up websites and making AdSense money etc.

He said there are open positions at his company if I'm interested. So then he showed his company my sites etc etc and they will take me on. They also do web design there.

If it really is legit you should definitely take the job. You'll get a nice jump start compared to most new SEOs.

Take the job, and learn as fast as you can. Maybe you will learn quick enough before they figure out they hired someone who doesn't know anything about seo. Good luck!

Take the job if you are not earning good money online yet. You will learn alot, also will ave money coming in that you can invest in your own personal projects and less pressure to make money straight away online. Best case scenario, you are earning good money online and earning god money from your job. Then you can invest in stuff like property (buy to rent) with the double income and then at some stage quit the job and do IM full time.

    Sounds like you probably should

Learn from the company and then go build your own.

Sounds to me that tbh your not qualified enough for the job but heck if they want to offer it to you then why not, earn the cash and bank it into your own ventures!!!

I once paid an SEO company $3k per month that provided little than 10 guest posts per month but they are rated one of the top UK SEO companies!!!

Reason is... they have a fucking awesome sales team!!!!

Just bank the cash, get fired after your probation and invest it, thats my advice!
