Got my first ever job offer today and I am currently on around $32k on my own, autopilot, and the job salary is around $32k per annum. Revenue comes from adsense, CB, my own products, CPA networks

The job is with a digital agency, don't know whether to accept... atm I am isolated work, working on my own at my desk at home. The idea is this will get me out more :S

PM me if you want to know more details about the work I will be doing, but I would like to know what u guys think.... Thanks

Depends how happy you are with current situation I suppose.

I would maybe say though if you will get some amount of flexibility then take the job (then you can still earn money doing your own stuff and you'll end up with a good salary), but if it is a high demand position maybe not as you'll then have less room to grow...??

If it's something you'd really like to do then go for it. Then make some money the way you are now. Keep building it up and then if you ever change your mind, then you'll be all set to move on if you chose to. Doing what you love is the key! Find that out and follow it. :)

Just make sure that your employment contract does not preclude you from doing your own stuff that is digital/internet related, before you sign

If you can continue what you're doing now and the job will only fill down time, in other words you weren't doing anything at that time anyway, I say go for the job.

I'm sure you will probably get a few benefits (Insurance, Vacation, etc...) that you don't have now too and that is always nice.

    Don't do it.

You are selling your soul for what you are already earning. Plus, you'll have less time to allocate towards your current IM income, which means that you'll eventually see a revenue drop over time.

Focus that same time and energy into your own stuff, in the long run don't make someone else rich, make yourself. The freedom of being able to work on your own shouldn't be something to take for granted. Having the liberty to determine your own hours, when and where you can travel, and so on is absolutely priceless.

If you are lonely, why not rent a small work place at a virtual office? There's usually a few in every town where you can rent a desk for a hundred or two a month and still be able to socialize as if you were in a normal office.

Don't do it dude. Why to work for someone else? There are many beautiful things to see and do in your spare time. Learn something new like a new hobby or something. It will only help you destress more.

Less stress = Good thinking = Great Money.

As you will learn something new with this hobby maybe you can use it one day in IM. Why work for peanuts when you grow cashewnuts at home :D

If you want to get out more, getting a job to sit together with other slaves under the pit boss, is not actually the way to do it.

    Here 's my suggestion:
    • Go to a Salsa/Tango/Latin dancing school/group/whatever. Huge fun and lots of women to make you forget about going back to your desk.
    • Team sports is nice

If you can create $32K on auto pilot, why can't you create $250K by scaling. Working for someone else is a waste of time. If you want to get out more go to the gym, park, bars, social gatherings, take a class at a local college. No reason to get a job just for the sake of getting out more.

I wouldn't recommend it.. I got a job about 2 months ago and my online income has dropped a LOT! Though, I still try to keep up with the trends and what works in SEO, there just isn't enough time anymore.

Scale it up... How long did it take to get to the 32k?

If you are bored or lonely... I work from home and it happens. Go to the library! Work there you might even get a new idea to make even more money.

thanks for all your replies, i have some thinking to do...

All my family and friends are telling me to take it, get exp, "enjoy the work life", have something on your CV etc.. Also it will make me more disciplined, atm i go to bed at 6am and wake up at 1-2pm! Family and mates think this is a no no but i love Iming at night, its very peaceful - which i will miss if i take the job :(

I get alot of benefits, life insurance, training, gym membership etc with the job

    BUT

my biggest fear is turning into a corporate slave douchebag. I dont want to be one of those f*cking douchebags that i see in the bar with their beer closely pressed against their chests "socialising" about useless dumb arse crap, sucking up to arsehole managers who dont know shit. Honestly BHW has all the knowledge needed to become successful in IM and many other things. But the one thing it cannot give is social skills and networking skills. Literally atm I am infront of my comp for around 10 hours a day speaking to no one except on skype (PM if you want to chat, i am always online). Yeah i go out on the weekends and play sports on weekdays, but always with the same people, now that i think about it the only new person "turned aquaintence" i have met was around 2 months ago.

As for renting an office, I dunno i would have to look into that! I just want there to be people around and stuff. Working alone is peaceful, fun and do able, but my social skills are slowly dying. Everyone always says, its not what you know, but who you know...

An idea i have is take the job, and bring my laptop to work.... after work go to a local coffee shop and carry on IMing from there. I might even meet a future business partner where I work...

The annoying thing is I have a new idea to make serious $$$$ (like who doesnt have new ideas here??) , but the job start date is soon...

As for income going down, its not going to go down, its been autopilot for about for about 7 months now, pretty steady.. scaling up is difficult though.

If you think it'll aid you to learn more or get new good contacts then y not to go for it,.. New ppl, new environment = experiencing life from different angle.
You are already on autopilot, u dont need to worry much about your current earning.
Life is all about helping other and getting helped.
