Good luck, however you deserved to be kicked out for walking out, in the real world, you can't walk out of a job without consequences
You should try to get reinstated and finish high school. Explain your circumstances and hope they will reconsider.
Good luck mate, shit things happen sometime, stay concentrated an all goes well for you
You're a senior and you're not gonna go get your GED or try to goto another school to graduate? Stupidity.
Here in America you can walk out, get in your car and leave and no one would care, they'll just count you as absent but if you have too many absents you will get a tickets and have to go to court.
I've got kicked out of high school for walking out of the school twice Tried to get some good job (unsuccessfully). Thereafter started my own business because I had nothing else left to do. Don't know how to compare success in life but if we compared earnings, I would be certainly earning more than any of my former classmates, most of whom do 9 to 5 jobs and some freelance.
Right now I have unfinished bachelor degree in "international business administration". Left the university because it was waste of time.
Here one smart dude talks about exactly the same topic, may be you will find it useful (I would) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWtXULcsU0w
Have fun getting a job with no high school diploma!
Bloodyninja, Thank you very much for the video , I am 100% confident in what I am doing, its just nice to see all the "real world" replies, but I cant blame anyone who were in way different situations than me.. Its not like I woke up one day and decided I would drop out for no reason lol, Thanks again
RTG, any chance you can work something out to get back in school and get that diploma?
It is a necessary piece of parchment to have and getting a G.E.D. is not an easy task... I teach that as part of my volunteer work and I know that passing that series of tests is not a walk in the park.
I had that chance, then all of life's problems literally caught a hold of me and grabbed me down at full speed... I really wanted to get it, but at the same time I believe that I can teach my own self, and that I have potential to do great with my life even without a diploma... Maybe I've been reading too much napoleon hill books, but from what I have seen recently and the position I am in life, It has gone to the point where fear doesn't have room in my mind...
Lol wtf I use to do w/e tf I wanted in high school. Use to walk into the lunch room with subways or pizza everyday no problems, even when its not allowed. Dude everyone here is gonna try to tell you schooling is not important and you will end up with either internet marketing or a shitty factory job. You need to finish high school bro. At the very very least, finish high school.
Go to an alternative school and get your diploma, fuck internet marketing for now. You're a senior, you have a few months left, just need a few credits most likely, just finish and once you finish, you can go all out internet marketing. God bless you
Man go back to high school. No one will take you.
And its like 3 months left in the school year....
Thanks for the kind words, I will see If I can be taken to a alternative school, but if not then there is nothing I can do...
OP what country are you in? Even if you are so confident in your IM skills and such, what's another few months gonna hurt you? Find a way to go get that degree, so it's at least *something* for you to fall back on. When you say "all of life's problems", what exactly are you referring to that prevents you from finishing school but leaves you still able to do IM, etc.? Is there a way to seek help with these problems so that you can graduate?
Lastly, I *strongly* caution you to avoid falling into the trap of holding up the exception as the rule. Yes, there are people who drop out and become wildly successful. They are the exceptions, *not* the rule. The risk/reward here is simply too great; there's no point setting out the be the exception when you can play the odds, get a degree, and still be successful if that's what was in the cards for you. Think about it.
Seriously you got kicked out from school for walking out? What country is this?Probably nordic country where laws are strict as f*ck and living costs make you force to get 9-5 job,as I was younger I wanted to live in country like Norway but now, that I got into IM I understand that here, in eastern europe we have much better freedom,at least for now
What! You just kicked out of High School for walking out of the school? means really? I rarely goes school and college even worse than that, max 8%-10% attendance, still no one give damn :| Even one teacher said, that my last lecture and your first, so get out! (on end of semester) that's only "extreme" case happened with me.
What country do you actually belong in?
For those who have asked what country I am from, I am in the USA, But I am in Chicago, IL...
And Neverquitting, you have a great POV of the situation and believe me I understand what you mean, and I would love to finish, but my problems are not just your everyday ones... They are personal problems that make everyday a struggle... I will literally have to take care of my family sooner or later and it is up to me to be there for them, so failure is not an option at all... I won't let that happen.
You in the US? If so what city u in if you dont mind me asking? I'll help you look for info.
I'm a year older than you and I struggled like hell my last year in school cuz I was so focused on the IM money I was making at the time. I was making $400 a day and was busy cutting class and chasing IM + girls. Out of 8 classes, I passed 1-2, in a schedule full of classes like music, art, etc etc I failed most classes cuz I rarely went. My mom would get mad, but I didnt are cuz she was 50 and I was 17 making more money than her. Long story short, bitchass Google knocked me down to ike $20/day and I wasnt on pace to graduate on time, I felt like a fool, but learned a great lesson. Imagine this happened while I was older and I needed to go get a job asap to support myself. Without a high school diploma, I cannot even be a garbage man in nyc.
Shitty story I know, but you need a high school diploma, its the safety net you really should have. Not even having a high school diploma in 2015 is like having horrible credit. Might as well be dead ..
To be an exception you have to act like one.
If you always play it safe, you will have no room left for high risk/high reward ventures. When I am about to make some hard decision, which puts at risks resources like money or time, first I analyze it thoroughly from a logical standpoint. Even if it looks good on paper, there's almost always some degree of uncertainty and fear left. In this case I ask myself what is the ABSOLUTELY WORST outcome of that venture. In my case it's going back to sales job. For me it's awful, for many people working in sales is a fucking dreamjob, which is why I laugh at my fears and proceed with the venture
For OP what is the worst possible outcome? May be he will have to work at McDonads for a few months. Does it mean the end of life? Of course not. I know because I had that kind of jobs. If you have right motivation, you can always build some small business or freelance portfolio in about 6-12 months. There is no need to expect yourself to be less smart, less go-getting or less anything than anyone else. It's extremely counterproductive. And those who do oftentimes end up as average at best and mediocre at worst.
As an entrepreneur I laugh at people who consider any kind of diploma important. When I hire staff without reference (happens rarely ), I look for only two things in CV: previous workplace and experience. Education is not among them because it doesn't mean shit nowadays.
