Anybody that has never been rafting needs to try it at least once. It was an amazing experience. This isn't my video, but I rafted everything in this video.

It was my first time ever whitewater rafting and I'm already planning my next time. We went about 20 miles down the river, stopped half way for lunch. If you watch the video, at 2:46 you'll see a cliff above the letter "C". We pulled the raft onto the rocks just past that cliff and spent an hour jumping off the cliff into the water. Its about 30 feet up and we were jumping into the rapids. The only reason we got to do that is because we didn't buy a regular rafting package through the company, we had a private trip. There was 14 of us, it was part of my brother's bachelor party weekend.

I tried white water rafting in the french alps on a single boat sort of thing and it was great.

Quite scary when you hit a huge drop but it surely gets the blood pumping !

    Nice vid :)

Yeah you're right it's scary at some points, but I had a vest and helmet on so I knew I was pretty safe.

I got tossed from the boat once while surfing the waterfall they show at the end of the video. That's not a good feeling being tossed around in the water, but once I came to the surface I started laughing and screaming because my adrenaline was pumping so hard.

I'll post some of my pics when I get them developed in the next day or two. I had a disposable waterproof camera, hopefully it survived the trip.

Sounds good and i also had to wear a vest and helmet but sometimes when i fell off i would get pulled under and eventually come up and think where the hell am i etc. Kinda felt confused at times and them rapids have a quick current so your shot down them haha.

Tell me about it, when I came up the first time I had enough time to take a quick breath before I got sucked under again. The second time I came up, I was pretty much out of the rapids, but a good 50 feet from the boat. Ended up swimming to the shore and they came and got me.

I'm nowhere near the Rockies. I rafted the Penobscot River in northern Maine. I guess some people say it's one of the top 5 white water rafting rivers in the USA. Two class five rapids within a few miles of each other and a couple class four rapids in between them.

I'd never done cliff jumping either, never been a strong swimmer. But man when you jump of the cliff, those 30 feet feel more like 60 feet! The whole trip was a blast!
