In the last couple of days I've started to really doubt traffic travis, a keyword I was researching was showing the top 5 pages having between 100 - 500 links,
when I checked in a backlinkwatch, they only had between 15 - 30

Now, heres the good part, how hard do you think it would be to rank for "video cards" HARD AS SHIT RIGHT? well...

Automated guesses are really hard to make accurate. We try our hardest with Keyword Scout but it's very hard to get an accurate automated estimate.

It is very difficult for an automated checker to be 100% accurate ALL of the time.

That's why anyone should be checking his keywords manually at least once. :)

The same goes for adwords when it comes to checking traffic. It may say 6,000 exact searches per month but you may be getting only 20 visits per day for being number one of that particular keyword.

I agree with the OP, every time Ive used TT and then compared the data with manual research on the same term, it seems the TT data is completely off the mark, and therefore useless to use as a guide.
I wouldnt recommend TT at all :(

Unfortunately the only reliable solution is to find keywords first, check competition, then test traffic with adwords for those keywords to be 100% sure. Any other tool / assistant / program is unreliable, google keyword tool included.
