Hello!

After days looking for expired domains without fake PR, I believe I found a gem.

The site I found was a previous newssite.
Lots of backlinks from other trusted website, and it has not been repurpoused after it went down.
Looked up archive.org showed a legit newswebsite started before year 2k. The last coupe of years it just had a simple one page that said the newspaper ended in 200x something.
The domain shows up as a PR4.

Can I count on this domain staying PR4?
And what type of content should I put on there, to make it stay PR4?
Do I need to do anything else after setting up content? (Other than putting up links)
How many links is it safe to put up?

thank you guys!

If it dropped in 200x then it's unlikely to have retained any PR whatsoever.

However, this I think is the folly of chasing PR domains - if a domain has a good backlink profile then it will still have value as far as Google is concerned - it might not show up publicly in the latest PR update, it might show a 0 or n/a, but if the backlinks are good and still there then it will have juice.

That's what you need to focus on - quality of links, not PR - it's a mugs game.

From what you said it seems to be a legit site and should stay PR4 if you keep the quality up

If the website have good high PR backlinks then it will keep its PR, just check the PR of links

Thanks guys. but about content.
It will be hard to keep it as a news site, needs a lot of updating etc.
Should i put up a wp site, and add some content every once in a while to keep the juice?

DA/PA/TF/CF are all typically considered superior metrics, because page rank is rarely updated.

It is wonderful that You have found the expired domain. Now use it and upload somethings in it.

If you can post the following metrics, we may have a better chance at giving you good advice

1. Majestic Citation Flow & Trust Flow
2. Domain Authority & Moz Rank
3. Similar Web Rank
4. No of Unique Subnets

Also check the back links to make sure they come from authority sites.

Regarding content -

1. Find the pages which have the most/best back links. Create pages with the exact same URLs (or if not possible do a 301 to individual pages).
2. Create a new article/page maybe once a month. Use WP, since its easy to setup and use.
3. The type of content would depend on your money site. If you can tell us what your money site is about we can give you better suggestions
4. You asked "How many links is it safe to put up?". If you meant - how many links is it safe to put from this domain to my money site, then the answer is that more than one link will not provide any additional benefits.
5. Remember to link to other authority sites as well - especially if these links were already there previously (you can check this from wayback archive)

If it sounds to good to be true it probably is. A domain like this will cost you $100's if legit, unless you're an expert scraper.

Don't look only for PR but for backlinks profile!
Domains with high PR are dropped for a reason (spam) ;)

Isn't it that domains have their profile reset once they are dropped?

For instance, if Google sees a domain that it was dropped, can reset and not count any link that they have discovered previously.

Can anyone clear things up, do expired domains with high profile do rank easier?

Thanks for your replies guys :) Still learning so hope this was a good catch.
skyrocketseo: I found it yesterday. Registerd it today and recieved it now, after calling the domain registrar.

Here are the historic and fresh index from majesticseo.

Does this look good?
Anyway can any of you explain further regarding historic versus fresh index? I checked some of the "historic" links and they are still alive and some pretty high PR.

677K backlinks - looks like it's been spammed to death - you did check it on archive.org to make sure it hasn't been selling penis pills or similar - right?

For that many links I'd expect a higher citation flow... I'd dig deeper into the link profile before I linked it to a money site.
