And surprisingly, I'm not doing it for the punani this time.

Will spend 1 hour a day practicing. Just imagine the surprise on a person's face seeing a 5'9" fat black guy from kenya talking like a mobster.

    LOL.

hey, keep us updated on this -- whether good, bad, etc. I've thought of ordering that too -- maybe not Italian though.

It's great! I also had a copy for kiswahilli. If you're interested in learning a new language, I'd suggest this + a good dictionary. Half a year and you'll be fine to walk around in the country unaided.

I think Michel Thomas is better, but I'd try both if I were you.

I have thought about trying this, but like many things have not gotten around to it yet.

I didn't like Rosetta Stone honestly...I thought Michel Thomas and Pimsleur are much better.

I'm going to have to give another nod to Michel Thomas. I've been off and on on for about a year now and still see it's impact. Time to get back on the horse! Or...El caballo. lol

    Thanks for the inspiration!

I tried Rossetta Stone Spanish, hoping I'd do better in Spanish class, but I didn't have a good enough attention span :D . I picked up a bit of German last week, maybe I'll continue learning it (German - so useful to an American...)

Ha ha. I know everyone wants to talk like a mobster but Rosetta Stone is more likely to teach you to talk like a TV commentator from Florence or Rome.

I admit that Rosetta Stone is kick ass. Normally I'm bored trying to learn another language but I am impressed by it. For one the go, try Coffee Break Spanish (podcast on iTunes)

I started learning French again last year - got Pimsleur for the car (good) and Rosetta Stone for the PC. Rosetta stone is excellent, but I don't like having to spend hours in front of the computer doing something other than IM. Pimsleur is good because I can use it on a long journey and it really helps with punctuation (Rosetta Stone is better for vocabulary).
