Just deleted an application from my mac can I get it back? (it is empited from trash)

    Hi

    I deleted an application from my imac that takes 4 hours to redownload


    Does anyone know how I can get it back?


    I also emptied the trash folder.....

    4 hours‽ Sheesh, that's either the world's largest application or you still have dial-up in 2014.

    Anyway, when a file is "deleted" from your computer, it is not really deleted. Instead, the space that the file took up is marked as available. Assuming not too much time has passed and the sector hasn't been overwritten by a function such as "Shred" by AVG, there's still a chance you can recover the file using a file recovery program.
