    Hello I am new to internet marketing, today I finished building my first site. It is an amazon affiliate A-store embedded into a custom html design. I just got finished on it today and have had no vistors yet - I haven't promoted it all yet. I hope that I can make this site a success and earn some decent money from it. I have read numerous threads on here but I just don't see a way to bring significant traffic to my site. I need your opinion and critique on how the site looks, if the design is adequate and contains enough features and information, and if anything needs to be changed. I am very serious about making money online and will dedicate all my time to making this site a success. Can some experienced internet marketers here please tell me if my site is a good idea and give me some advice on ways to drive traffic to my site and get sales, I would greatly appreciate it. The website is saying I have not been a member long enough to post a link so I will post the URL with spaces in it:

    w w w . bestsitever . n e t

    w w w . bestsitever . n e t

    (Remove Spaces)

    I'd change the design, no offence but its rather ugly. Do a search on this forum for some free ecommerce website templates and get one of those up instead of your current design.

    Your landing page is the first thing a visitor will see, and believe me when I say this: An ugly design will harm your conversions.

    You have to optimize your landing page for maximum conversions. Take a look at the top sites related to your niche and try to make your site similar to theirs in terms of looks but obviously make it unique.

    Regardless of how much traffic you get to this site, if you don't optimize your landing page you won't make as much money as you could.

    Dude, seriously? You just finished it? And already is a PR2?

    About the design, it really feels so 2004... Lots of wasted space with your catch phrase, no content above the folder, 856px wide when the norm is 960px or over, green and gray do NOT go well together and so on.

    Really, you can do a lot better...

    Whats so good about it???
    Its a very basic site that is a bit childish if you ask me, looks like a angelfire site from the 90's.

    My advice to the OP would be to learn methods of driving traffic to websites such as organic SEO, social media ppc etc then choose your monetisation method. Any TOM DICK AND HARRY can make "the best site ever" with "the best amazon store ever in" but its all pointless with no targeted traffic.

    Yeah, ignore the newbies. Their opinions weren't constructive and factual... Sounds like you don't want more competition.

    It's easy to see why your reputation is lower than mine...

    Well, your reputation isn't all that wonderful to be bragging about... How about keeping the discussion focused on the subject?

    The OP said this was his first site and for a first site, it's not bad. I've seen thousands of sites that were far more primitive than his so for his first attempt, it's pretty good. My first site looked like the 60s got sick all over it (multiple fonts, colors and a tie-dyed background) but that was literally 20+ years ago.

    To the OP:
    You are using a 'strict header'
    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    <title> Best Site Ever! (Online Marketplace)</title>

    but if you attempt to validate it
    Code:
    [URL]http://validator.w3.org/[/URL]

    it fails - badly. My suggestion would be to use Transitional instead:
    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
      "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

    It will solve some of the errors cause by the validator and multiple browsers would very likely render the page the same (the goal of XHTML).

    but in either case, Good job for your first attempt - and keep learning!

    If you are buying twitter followers, dont expect any conversion. The best conversion will be from buying keywords (organic traffic). Also why dont you keep some elegant design. The header just does not look good. Even the background green color is hurting my eyes. check out the theme section, you should get some design made for specifc amazon store
