    Hello,

I just launched a website to start selling my product. So far on my site I've had 30 unique visitors, and two email list signups for a discount code on my product in the past four days. Does this sound like an ok number to start with? I'm actually pretty pumped to get signups already.

I know nothing on properly marketing a product on a website. Any good guides on this? I'm using a responsive theme on wordpress. I have g analytics setup. And I have mailchimp setup for my list capture.

I'm working on ways to drive most of my traffic with yt, cl, blogs, adwords, adcenter, as cheaply as possible.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions

    Hi mate,

Those numbers are ok for the beginning , but I'm strongly recommend SEO and social marketing - YT, facebook shares, twitter re-tweets, pinterest. At the BST section you could find really good services, which could helps a lot. Best of luck with your project.

    Cheers
    Petko

Bad news here are my latest stats:

    170 unique visitors
    3 total email signups

I had the email signup only on a single page which contained the product pricing.

Here's the changes I just made:
*email list sign up now on every page (4 total pages)
*removed product pricing (most companies in my business don't advertise pricing)

If there are any eCommerce experts out there, I would pay for someone to checkout and make suggestions on my page. My goal is to build my email list.

    Hi,
3 signups for 170 uniques is still fine (depends on your product). Put email optin form in every place you can ;). You can also consider optin pop up (see some javascript plugins).

Now my main focus is to add a high quality design + a ridiculous amount of high quality content to see if this ultimately bumps up my sign up rate. I've paused my adwords traffic as I have already blown $30 off my $100 voucher.

I really need to get at least a 1/4 signup rate for this to be profitable.

Why not try searching for related forums for your product and try and drum up some interest in them forums. That would give you ultra targeted traffic, and could get some sign ups for your mailing list.

I'm getting decent traffic, but I'm not getting any signups or leads. Is there someone that could check out my site? I'm really struggling with this and would really appreciate someones help.

I've put a good amount of time into the site, but I guess I still have a long ways to go.

Intarnold, you are doing great and thinking the right way, social accounts, email captures and lots of content you are spot on. Schedule the posts to come out daily if you have enough and you can post a little teaser at the bottom of your post and say "come back tomorrow to see my post about XYZ"..

When you have what you consider to be "enough" content find niche relevant sites and offer to guest post, this can drive traffic to your site and also help with ranking. Dont be afraid to build a few web 2.0's like squidoo, blogger and tumblr to advertise your biz!

If you made your own product then you should be working on brand recognition. Get your logo and tagline in front of everyone possible. Check out re-targeting with adwords and adcenter. If you're not familiar with it, it's a way of showing your ad to the same people who've already seen it. It helps massively build your brand in people's minds.

Once people are on your site, it's a matter of giving them something free to get them to sign up. A coupon may sound attractive, but it still sounds like "buy" and not "free". Get some sort of digital download to give them and advertise your list with it, you'll start getting more signups right away.

Man I just realized that my competitor is doing this, and how good of a point this is.

Funny as I was offering a trial device with still no signups. I just changed the offer to a free ebook download. I'll see if this does the trick

    Many thanks!

So right now I have paid ads (adcenter) driving somewhat cheap traffic to my site.

I was hoping that I could capture at least 25% of that traffic with my email signup offering a free ebook, but still no luck. I've had about 20 uv since I made this offer, and zero signups.

Any experts here on page optimization for this sort of thing? I would pay if necessary. Just not sure what to do at this point.

    Thanks Guys/Gals,
