Hello. I just purchased a fully functional solo email/list building/traffic exchange type site with 50 members (4 paid). I got a great deal on Ebay (paid $15 at auction). However, it's set up on a hosting company that I'm not too pleased with. I believe that the site owner has reseller hosting and sets these sites up and sells them cheap. He's making his money by banking on the fact that most people will not want to change the hosting company and so he'll make monthly revenue that way (which is exactly what I did). No problem there, and I'm not faulting him for that (it's a good business model, in fact). However, the hosting sucks and has been down more than it's been up in the 7 days I've owned the site. He claims that he just had some sort of attack (funny how it happens right after I bought the site), but I belive this is indicative of the service I'm to expect in the future. Now, my dilemma is that I need hosting that allows for a large amount of emails to be sent, as the whole function of this site is that pro members can send 5 sola ads every month to all of the membvers. Free members get 1, and JV partners get 10. Right now I only have 2 JV partners and 2 pro members, but once I build up the membership base, it will be a lot of emails going out. The seller told me that Hostgator is no good and would shut down the site for this. I'm new to this type of site ownership and I just need to know what is the best hosting for one of these sites? Also, if anyone would share information with me on how to send bulk emails without getting shut down for spamming, I'd greatly appreciate it. I will offer free pro memberships (usually $6 a month) to all that can contribute. Right now there are only 50 members, but as the site grows it could be some good free advertising for you.
