I have 3 sites, all were hit with google penguin.
All 3 sites were thrown onto page 25+

Over the last week or two, 2 of the sites started to come back, well moved back to page 10 (increase of 100-150 places).
I didn't do anything to these sites and i expect they are still being hit with a 'over opterimisation' penalty of some kind.

The 3rd site was pushed out the most ... jumping around page 35-45!!!!
This site hasn't come back at all? if anything it has moved out further?
Like the other two sites, the 3rd site is maybe a little over optermised so i hoped it would start to come back in like site 1 and 2 .... but so far it hasn't?

The only difference between sites 1 and 2 (which have started moving back in) and site 3 (not moved in at all, if anything is moving out) is that last year site 3 was hit with a google penalty and pushed to around page 35. The penalty was for direct xrumer and SB blasts.
It sat on page 35 for something like 6 months but did come back in end and traffic picked up.

So my question is, if you have a site that has been effected by google penguin and not started to regain its original serp's? did the site ever get hit with a previous penalty? and if yes, what was it for? what kind of penalty?

I'm just trying to understand why 2 out of 3 sites have started to move back in the right direction with the 3rd staying put if not getting worse?
All 3 sites have been built in the same way, same kind of seo/structure ....

Being pushed out like that is just the dance. Sites tend to be gone from between 6 weeks and 6 months and then come back stronger than ever. The Google overop penalty is something you might not recover from at all.

    Add content and good links.

Use scrapebox sensibly to add 500 great links rather than 500,000 shitty ones..
SB and Xrumer can automate great linking strategies as well as crap spammy ones.

I'm guessing many people are using the AA lists that are floating around this forum - where even the sites with PR have comments pages that go on and on and on with 1000+ spammy comments per URL. By using these lists you are associating your site with shit - in an very aggressive automatic way.

Why would anyone do this is beyond me. Scrape your own lists, filter out low or zero PR sites, add a custom comment , a captcha solving service and use slow poster (or better scrapejet, NHSEO or GSA) to post to these hard to get sites.

A couple of hundred links on these sites will improve your SERPS - 500,000 shitty links from spam factories will get you slapped.

    Your choice I guess

Scritty is right, but finding quality lists is not easy and that need lots of proxies (private).

I am just trying out different things at the moment with linkwheels (not the obvious closed ones) and see how that is going after Pengiun.

slightly off topic guys. Totally understand why you shouldn't be mass-blasting a money site.

But the question remains the same, anyone have a site that has NOT started or shown any type of movement in the right way since being hit with a penguin penalty? and if this is the case for anyone else, have you ever had a google penalty on the same domain before penguin? if yes, what for? what was you doing?
