Be smart. Never make the same mistake I did. Never add your black hat sites to google webmasters tools. It is not worth it. You gain nothing but loose everything. Why on earth would you add your sites which are black hat to algo which you are fighting against? I guess one has to experience this to learn this valuable, yet stupid lesson. 7 of my sites which were added to webmaster tools all got manual penalty. Two other weren't added - still alive and kicking.

Take care, I am off to rebuild everything from scratch.

LOL When you say blackhat sites what do you mean? because I run a blackhat site and its all good :) Also manual penalty does not mean its because of BLACKHAT, your content was probably weak dude. What does google say?

I have all my sites in GWT(not the same one), and haven't gotten a penalty.

it's just the matter of time when, you just make it easier for Google by adding it to webmasters tools. I dont want to sound like a crying baby, but do as you please. I will not do that again personally.

I don't think it makes it easier for Google, if they are going to crawl your site, they will. They have a backlink profile for all sites they crawl.
How many times have you seen a thread where someone had a penalty, and had to add it to GWT to find out what penalty was. Google already has the data banks.
By putting it into GWTs I can at least see what Google knows about my sites.
With blackhat, it is almost always a matter of when, just a fact of doing blackhat.

I didn't add my site to GWT and still got a penalty(blackhat niche).
I think it all comes down on the content and backlinks.

Let me guess.. You added all the sites on the same GWT account.. right? Well that's your mistake.

Only add 1 site per 1 GWT account and you should be fine.

You are giving Google ZERO information when you only use one website in GWT! All the information you see in GWT is information Google is sharing with you!

Only when you add multiple websites to GWT do you give Google information they don't have, and that is that they all have the same owner.

Adding multiple sites from say a PBN is a dead giveaway. If all of them have similar link patterns and link to one site, it just makes everything obvious. As everyone else here has already said, create different accounts.

Another thing. Each site must have its own persona i.e unique gmail ID, social networks, creatives etc. Easy to overlook it but it matters.

Buddy, as long as you don't add all your domains to the same GWT account, you are good.

I read it all the time here - 'Don't add GWT so Google can't see anything about your site' - it's a load of BS, Google already has that information, it's their information about how your domain performs on their website (which they have complete control over), and you verify ownership so they will share that information with you, not the other way around.

Just keep each domain in a separate GWT account.
