How I got into IM My friend introduced me to BHW in the beginning of last year. So I've been lurking here a few months before I made the acc. And well as you can see from my post count I just kept on lurking. But it was very effective as I've read tons of journeys and guides and learned a lot. My lurking carreer changed after I read through Argans journey and saw how quick progress he was making because he had a solid plan and experience. As you can guess I lacked the experience but I wanted my piece of that Amazon money so I started my own thing in October last year after getting the idea for a niche from a friend. About the site I'm trying to make an authority site, so I got a rather broad niche. Since I'm an university student and I got no money, nothing has been outsourced, since today. That's the reason why the growth has been slow, but it's steady and I'm happy with it. But today I started finding a copywriter and got one article coming in. The site has 4 silos, a 5th one is on the way in the next weeks when I get the content from writers. The 5th silo's content will be outsourced just to compare how it will rank when compared to my own content. And also I have a 5k word pillar article which is something my site has never had. The longest article on the site is a bit under 2k. So it will be interesting to see, how it's going to perform. The site has about 41k words separated into about 70 articles. Some of them are supporting, informative articles, some are top number/best keyword articles, but most are just product reviews. Right now the site averages about 90 uniques a day. All traffic comes from google. The site has about 50 backlinks. Most of them are niche related(idk if that matters at all). A few of them are self-made web 2.0s, a few aged tumblrs, some social media and most others are forum and article comments. The site also has active IG, Twitter and Fb. Fb has bought likes but IG and Twitter both have about 2k active followers, farmed with Massplanner. I don't use them for conversion, just backlinks and it adds value to the authority. Goals with this site The current conversion rate in Amazon is about 6.7% but the conversion rate from my site to Amazon is only about 20% which I think is very low. The main reason for this is that all the focus has been on creating content and backlinks. Since nothing is outsourced and I want everything to be of high quality, it takes a lot of time. The bad conversion rate is probably due to not enough ways to lead people to Amazon. I only had ‘buy now' buttons and product pictures with aff links. The newer articles which have text links in them seem to convert a lot better and today, I also added some new CTA's which should increase conversion. Now that the content is outsourced I'll put all my time into experimenting and increasing conversion because there's a lot more money to be made with that traffic. My main goal for now is to reach 1k/month. It should be realistic since there is a lot more content available to add to this site and I'm nowhere near to the optimal CTR to Amazon yet. With current situation, I think I'm missing out a lot of revenue because of the shitty CTR. I'm not sure if I covered all important aspects. Ask away if I didn't mention something important or just ask pretty much anything you want. Current issues Does it matter if backlinks are from niche related sites? Some wise people say it matters, some people say it doesn't as long as the website itself is with high metrics. What is a good site to Amazon conversion rate? I know argan has about 80% but he's a god and idk if that's realistic for peasants like me.
