My speculation, based on the title: This is nothing new. Name one company in the world that is totally honest and open in everything they do.
It seems like he is jealous about the success of Google, and trying to get more attention.
I don't doubt Google is taking our data for sinister purposes.
But overall, how I live my life is, don't do anything you don't want everyone to find out.
Julian Assange is not what he seems as well.
Thought-provoking article that raises a number of frightening points. Goggles online ambitions have been pretty clear for a long time, but I did not know that their offline geopolitical ambitions were on this kind of scale, and its interesting to know more about their collusion with the US government.
The point about the seemingly "unassailable reputation" of Google is very succinct. Many blackhatters are more conscious of the shady dealings of Google, but they still have so much goodwill among the general public...
he already have enough attention, from the unwanted type too
great, now we have parrots here
It's not just Google that needs scrutiny. Some are asking why Amazon is getting so cozy with the CIA:
Most of the people tend to forget that Google is a corporation. A corporation is a group of people (and I am not referring here to the simple workers, but to the people which are running and funding this corporation) looking to increase their profit, power, and influence.
Such stories (which are more or less true) should not surprise anyone.
Cliffs? Article is very long...
Google needs competition badly. I really think that their search engine monopoly will be safe long term, but other companies can really chop AdSense down.
68% of earnings for the fiscal year are from their homepage,Youtube and maps so it's pretty easy to pull them down by a competitor with a much smarter and faster search engine but their strongest weapon of the trade to save their ass in the future is not their search engine, it's the mobile operating system Android.
You are a day late and a dollar short. Newsweek published the article on 10/23/2014.
Wikileaks picked it up from there. On the 24th, the article was at position 7 on page one of a search "Google." It is now on page eight and dropping fast.
Yesterday the Wikileaks article was on page one of a search for "Google." Today it is not in the first ten pages. Your serp may vary depending on location.
Google would rather not have their bed partners known.
great, now we have parrots here
Android is great, I dont care if they are making products for the U.S. Military, just like I don't care that samsung is making military hardware as well.
Did you know that Google just sold Motorola to Lenovo. Your American made Android military hardware is soon to be Chinese made for the American military. The Robotic company Google bought canceled all military contracts - at least the visible ones.
google its evil ?!?
google is next skynet, jokes apart the article just revolves round Eric's close ties with politicians (lobbying) so what's so new in that?
Separate names with a comma.
