I know this might sound crazy for most of us but yes, I am going to "hunt" the $50k mark until the end of July.
I also know that most of these journey threads don't end up as expected because the OP usually gives up but I really do not care.
I am willing to do this anyway but with this journey I am sure I will get more motivated with your support and maybe help others or get help with more ideas or who knows.

As we know the Mobile App Market is the Market with the biggest growth over the last few years and will grow even more.
If we take a look at all the statistics we see that at this time there are billions of apps on the mobile app markets and millions downloaded every day.
You can do a Google search and see what mobile market means.

Enough about the statistics and facts, you already may know these or even more than me.
    Let's talk about me.

I am into IM for more than 3 years and joined BHW 3 years ago.
I have learned everything I know from here and willing to learn even more.
Along these years I have tried many making money methods. Some worked, some didn't...but I never was so motivated and serious about making money.

At the moment I am making around $1000/month with mobile apps development and one other online activity I do not want to talk about at this time.

I am very motivated to reach the $50k until July since I am willing to leave my country at the end of the Summer and move to USA where I want to grow my business even more.
I am aware that this is a big goal to target but we have to aim high in order to achieve what we want in life.

I have 2 big weapons at the moment:

    MOTIVATION
The will to sacrifice everything (friends, time, money, parties etc)

I am all into it and will become one with my business like an addicted.

I began learning mobile app development 5 moths ago using Phonegap Build and jQuery Mobile.
At the moment I create mobile apps for businesses and websites.
I am going to target businesses like Restaurants, Hotels, Bars, Clubs, Doctors, Lawyers etc and Real Estates Agents.
I have many features that I can include in these apps and willing to develop more in the near future.

Here are the investments made so far:

    Google Play Developer account: $25
    Apple Developer account: $99
    iPhone 3GS: $100
    MacBook Air Mid 2008: $400
    Paying coders: $500
Hundreds of hours of learning all the process and implementing features for the apps.

I also have a website but I need to work a little more on this too.
Need to brainstorm the app price idea: I am not sure yet if to have a fixed price or a first setup price plus a monthly payment.

Here is what I am willing to do at the moment:

Contact web designers/web design businesses (that do not have mobile app development included in their services) for business opportunities.
    Set up an email campaign.
Brainstorm more ideas for business opportunities and mobile apps.

I will try to update you daily with my activity.
Any help, ideas, support and questions are welcomed. Wish me luck!

i have a few things you should know

    1. apple sells hardware, this means they want apps to be cheap because it helps them sell more hardware. app store revenue makes up <1% of their total profit. if your plan is to make money from selling your own apps, you'll have to take this into consideration (it effects search ranking, exposure, etc.) that's why free is the new thing. if apple could force all developers into slavery it would

    2. don't forget to upgrade your old macbook to Lion OS, its only $19.99, you can't compile for iOS 6 without it.

    3. i would pick one business type and really focus in on it. maybe something you've worked in or know pretty well. make it as good and useful as possible. build a demo app to show customers, and show it to the owner in person on your own phone.

I have something similar which I am going to do.
Just a piece of advice if you're doing all the work like making site marketing brading than it will be difficult for you distribute your work to friends or professional.

I am going to target a couple of niche and develop one app for each one trying to improve it as much as I can periodically and making the app really useful for the customers.

Thank you for the heads up and for your input, I really appreciate it.

    Going back to work now.
Tomorrow I will be gone most of the day but I am willing to work in the morning and in the evening.
I will update you tomorrow night.

I am not getting it, sorry.

The website is 95% ready, I just need to tweak it a little here and there and also need to make the price list for the apps and adding some portfolio with live links on the app stores.

    UPDATE for YESTERDAY

Yesterday was a very busy day.
I worked in the morning developing a new app for a restaurant.

I was out of town most of the day though and could not work on any of my projects.

Anyway, in the evening I got to work and was almost ready with the app.
I have also worked on my other activity it brings me revenue at this time.

    UPDATE for TODAY

I have just finished the app and published it on Google Play and Apple App Store.

Contacted two web design companies for business opportunities.

Now I am going to develop 2 more apps and work a little on my website.

Will be back with updates at the end of the day.

    Cheers!

    UPDATE

I have built one app for a Restaurant and one for a Hotel to put on my website as examples for clients.
I have also done a few tweaks to my website and set up the plans and pricing.

I am going to build more apps for different niches just to put on my website for showcase.

In the meantime I got in touch with 2 more web design and developing companies and waiting for their answer.

It is pretty hard and this moment until I build my base of apps and get a couple of clients but I have to keep going.

    Cheers!

    UPDATE:

In the last 2 days I have been building two more apps, one for real estate and one for a spa&beauty salon.
I have already updated these apps on my website with links to the app stores.

Meanwhile I set up my 2CO account and will update the purchasing buttons on my website since I have been using paypal.

Going to update my social profiles with the latest work (facebook, twitter and pinterest).
I am also going to create a couple of intro videos for my business and for each app and do some video marketing on youtube and other video sharing websites.

These days I will also have to come up with an e-mail marketing strategy.

I am not sure how many of you are interested in what I am doing and posting in this tread but this will not going to stop me :D

    Cheers!

    UPDATE

My website is 99% ready but I am sure I can get some improvements or tweaks from time to time.

I have started a marketing campaign for my website and service.

I have already built 6 professional videos in After Effects and started uploading these to all major video sharing websites.
I would need some professional advice from video marketing professionals on here on how to improve this campaign.

After finishing the video job I will move on to Linkedin and see what I can do on there.
I have also seen that there is a great Linkedin marketing tool on here and would like to get my hands on it and test it out.

In the meantime I am also going to purchase a couple of SEO services from fiverr to increase my exposure.

    See you soon :D

    Cheers!

Same here, I will follow your journey to success.
You already have the most important factor which is motivation.
Just keep going and I'm sure you will reach your goal, if not you will get damn close!

I'm also into mobile apps some so this is surely interesting.

Out of curiosity what is the purpose of some of these apps for local businesses? I wouldn't expect most people to download apps for local businesses. I can understand wanting to have mobile access but than why not just make mobile websites?

I mean if they want mobile apps than by all means make them for them I just think it seems unlikely that many people are going to download apps for these businesses unless they are big chains.

Thank you very much, I am sure we can all learn something from this thread and let's hope that this will be the secret to success :D

I am glad to see you are in the same business. Thank you for your support as well. Stay tuned as I am sure great things are about to come soon...

    I am glad you asked.

Many businesses would like to have a mobile app for their clients, keeping these people up to date with their offers, coupons etc by push notifications this way increasing sales.

This is just one of many reasons why more and more businesses need a mobile app.

    Cheers!

I would like to see your restaurant app. I am thinking of targeting local restaurants to do co-op marketing, which I will be providing the marketing - like a directory/deal site with there own pages, give-aways/win prizes/coupons, facebook page, review/reputation management, direct mail to different 5,000/10,000 homes etc

I have been very busy last days developing some new features for the apps and building a couple of new apps, some for a client and the other ones to increase my portfolio.
I am now going to start an e-mail campaign that will target local businesses.

I now have to choose between two options and I would like to hear some opinions on this:

Option 1: Build a squeeze page and capture the email addresses and after creating a good relation with the list I would start to promote my service.

Option 2: Directly send them a professional offer promoting my service.

Until I will decide on this I am going to create the message and find a service who will help me to inbox these messages.

I will be back with updates soon.

    Cheers!
