because a splog needs to use different hostings/ips.
Nope, that's only needed if you are building pbn sites, but for splogs, they can all be hosted under the same server and even same IP. Or if you are very paranoid, just use cloudflare.

This way I can see for myself if there is much difference between using expired or fresh domains when it comes to my sploging method.
There is a difference in traffic, but it's not worth to pay the price for an expired domain. Just build on fresh domains in bulk ;)

What is the advantage of html vs xml sitemap?
HTML sitemaps are for google spiders to crawl your whole site without the need to crawl every page to find all pages.

XML sitemaps are for adding them to GSC to let google crawl your site faster as well.

So, both types of sitemaps (as well as rss feeds) work to get your sites indexed a lot faster.

I have researched this recently. So, XML is useful because it can be updated automatically and dinamically and has more data for crawlers. If you use wordpress, XML is best. HTML sitemap is great for user experience (that's what Google team said), for example official Apple website has HTML sitemap.

Since I won't use wp and don't need to update content (I'll upload all at once) HTML sitemap is perfect for me.

The hosting package allows 3 sites at most anyway, since it's a cheap one, good for splogs. I'll be happy to diversify with another host/ip, just in case. And ofc I already use cloudflare.

Small update:

- The homepage just got indexed in google.

- I uploaded all the files and I'm going to let them sit for awhile. The sitemap and interlinking should allow crawlers to find all the pages.

- I haven't found an expired domain for the next site yet (kids toys niche) so I'll try with a fresh domain this time.

UPDATE 5:

I haven't joined the Dark Side yet, just getting my toes wet, but...

“Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.”

Site 1:

- I added the redirect cloaker (shared in this post for free). Decided to add it to a subfolder so people can still navigate to the homepage (advertisers still need to see the homepage when I apply to their program). Only the rest of the pages will be redirected.

- I created a bitly with the offer so I can track clicks separately from the affiliate dashboard.

- Everything is set. From now it's just a waiting game. I'll let it index naturally. Will check back in a week.

Site 2:

- I generated the list of keywords.

- Registered a fresh domain name. Cost: $1.

- Next I will filter the keyword list and get it ready for content generation.

UPDATE 2:

I did a number of things yesterday and today:

1. Searched for an expired domain in beauty niche until I found a decent one (has a few cleanish backlinks and nothing too spammy). I didn't plan to do this but I took the advice of Fashina Samson, it'll help index easier.
2. Spent the budget on the domain + cheap shared hosting ($1+$9).
3. Pulled some content from archive.org from the expired domain and put it on the homepage so it looks legit. It was a previous blog in the same niche, so it's perfect. The homepage will be left as is and the rest of the pages will be generated with lorem ipsum.
4. Built the keyword list.

Next step is filtering the list and finding a way to connect the list with the content generator.
Hi thanks for thread. How did you search for expired domain and for non auction price. What site or tool?

How did you pull from archive.org?

Thanks,

Hey man! I'm not well versed in finding expired domains for SEO purposes, just read some basic guides.

But I've been doing domain flipping before blogging, so I'm very familiar with expireddomains.net (free tool).

Google way back machine downloader. There's a few free tools to pull content from archive.

The expired domain I found probably isn't a gem or anything, I don't even know the stats, just wanted something that doesn't have a ton of spammy backlinks.

I guess all registrars have $1 domains, just get a cheap ngtld extension.

I googled: $1 per month hosting. Then I searched the first results for coupons. Got the best deal at that time.

It's still Black Friday/Cyber Monday so there must be tons of deals.

Why not use GitHub pages if the splogs are just static websites instead of paid hosting?

Because I haven't used that before and I'd have to learn all about it.

Does it allow me to add a thousand pages? Can I use ftp with it? Does it have traffic logs like in cpanel to check bots visits? Does it allow htaccess? And lastly, will I be able to have the files private for free?

UPDATE 6

Site 1:

- Google indexed 2 more pages. Googlebot started to visit my website each day.

- I tested the SERP results. Clicking on them redirects to offer.

The descriptions in SERP look really funny :D

Site 2:

- I filtered the list of keywords but decided to add more so I generated a second list of keywords.

- I created the homepage by mixing and translating some wiki content with deepL.

Next, I'm going to filter the 2nd list and generate the content. This time I'll upload it even if the homepage won't be indexed.

Really interested to see how this turns out. I’m no SEO expert. But isn’t Google getting smart enough to read gibberish text now?

and the other thing. If you uploading just raw HTML with no theme, Google can see that as well and have that as a factor perhaps?

Good luck, hope you get decent traffic/results from it!

Answered in op:

"I'm sure Google can detect gibberish when it comes to English language but I bet it doesn't detect that stuff in a foreign language, probably it doesn't even care."

Btw, gibberish pages already started to index.

I thought of this. I'm using the stylesheet from the homepage, which was pulled from the archive, so I don't have to do anything, just generate raw html and they all link to the same stylesheet. Looking simple and pretty.

Github pages are nice, but the problem is that you can't cloak the sites as html and js is only allowed. :/
I wanted to try github and google firebase to store sites but they don't accept php so it's hard to get them indexed tbh :/

Yeah google reads crap content, but it ranks it, so it works :)
Plain text works fine for autoblogs. Themes are just for the visitors though
