    Hey all,

This is my first journey and I wanted to share it with you. I've already learned quite a bit and I will be sharing my experiences as I go along so lets get started!

    The Game Plan:

Build a semi passive income site making at least $300 a month. I say "semi" because no website is completely hands free. Your website will continually need to be updated with new content, back linked and promoted.

    Outline:

    Keyword Research
    Build a Website in Wordpress
    Purchase Best Spinner
    Purchase GSA Search Engine Ranker
    (Possibly purchase Buzzbundle)
    Write up to 27 articles
    Back link
    Promote
Sign up for the Ebay Affiliate
Wait 30 days to add Adsense
    Continue to Promote/Backlink

What I have done so far:

I used a service to find keywords and build a micro niche website for me, which was a mistake. I know experienced IM's will think this was a no brainer, but since I am just getting my feet wet I chose to take the quick and easy path and learned afterwards WHAT A BAD DECISION THIS WAS.

Now, I am not saying that the service itself was bad, because it was good, especially the website design, but my suggestion would be to always do your own keyword research, do not take the quick and easy path as that will only limit you in ways you may not for see immediately.

Even though the service provider gave me a chance to A) Provide my own keywords or B) They supply the keywords but send them to you for review first so you can see not only what you will get, but to do your own research and see how they might rank before they build your website, I still chose to cut corners going with option B.

With option B chosen and even though they emailed me the keywords, I barely lifted a finger to see what the competition would be. (HUGE MISTAKE!)

    Hard Lesson learned: Check.

Moving forward with what I had chosen I bought a domain, had the people setup the wordpress site and they included three articles, one of which was partially blatantly ripped off from another website.

Solution: I went through each article and rewrote them by hand, which also had the benefit of increasing the word count, which they were all needing.

Money spent so far: MNW Service + Domain/Package= $128

During this time I also research the competition's websites (yes, after the fact). I am certainly going to have to up my game to meet or exceed what the competition has done as they are already ranking number one, and they have obviously spent a lot of their time building their website.

Can I still rank #1 in google with 3 keywords and 30 articles? No. However, I will research and use related keywords, purchase the best spinner, and create 27 articles.

Can 27 articles be written on this MNW? Possibly, even if not, I'm going to get as close as I can, because that is what google wants and the more relevant content I have, the better.

The website itself may also need some modifications for easy access to visitors (I know that is vague but I can't give away my precious 3 keywords, trixie hobbites).

Last night I also setup google webmaster tools, and google analytics. I have not moved forward with google adsense yet since it was recommended to me to wait 30 days because (as it was explained to me) google doesn't like brand new websites to immediately start using adsense.

So on that part I am just counting down the days.

    Wordpress plugins:

This has been a huge learning experience using these plugins and it has been great!

    What was installed:
    Akismet (currently deactivated)
All in One SEO Pack (Activated and setup by me)
Auto Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (Activated)
Contact Form 7 (Activated, but untested)
    Favicon by RealFaviconGenerator (Activated)
Google XML Sitemaps (Activated and setup by me)
    NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati (Activated)
    Share Buttons by AddToAny (Activated)
Simple Tags (Activated, I'm not sure if I even need to use this since I already have the SEO Pack?)
    Smart Youtube PRO (Activated)
    WP htaccess Control (Activated)
    WP Robots Txt (Activated)
    WP Slimstat (Activated)
    WP Super Cache (Activated)
    WPtouch Mobile Plugin (Activated)

Whew! Ok, last night I setup the All in One SEO Pack. The documentation was amazing and conveniently located on their website and I went through each tutorial where applicable (which most of it was). This was a huge help in understanding more about SEO in general.

I also setup the google XML sitemaps plugin and then uploaded the sitemap to google webmaster tools.

    Next Steps:

Sketch out on paper how I may redesign my website to make it more user friendly and use more vibrant colors as it is a bit dark at the moment.

Do I know enough about Wordpress to do this? No, but there are tutorials online and forums if I need help.

After site redesign I will purchase Best Web Spinner and write up to 27 more articles using related keywords and add them to the website.

How long will this take? Probably a couple of weeks? The sooner I get started, the sooner they will be done and posted.

And then, start back linking and promoting my website using GSA Search Engine Ranker and possibly buzzbundle.

The goal of my website is to not only look like an authority website, but be an authority on what it is about. The information will be accurate.

Also, some of you may be wondering why I am choosing ebay over amazon. Well, sadly (for me) amazon will not allow me to be an affiliate in the state I live in. Ebay doesn't seem to have that problem (as far as I can tell).

Ok that's it for now folks! It will probably be a few days before I post next time because of the possible website redesign.

I'm enjoying my journey so far, and just doing this much is certainly better than not taking any action at all. I know I will hit a few bumps in the road, but that is just a part anything you do in life, and I will overcome those bumps.

Thanks for reading, and I will keep you all updated as I make progress.

    Some quick tips :

    1- Don't use a spinner software on tier1
    2- remove the unneccessary plugins
3- Don't spend more money on SEO tools because you don't really need any right now
4- Focus on this project only , day and night .
5- Keep in mind to stick to tip #4

    Thanks everyone!

Thank you for the advice 3lt0n1, if you don't think I need spinner software yet or the GSA software then I won't get it, you sound like you are more experienced than me.

Do you think I should remove Simple Tags plugin?

    THanks,

    Update:

Last night I spent several hours working on trying to find a new theme and working with a few that I downloaded. Pretty much just ended in frustration.

Tonight I found a theme that had a great amount of customization and after spending about an hour on it I got a basic framework up on how I want it to look. I also disabled the Simple Tags plugin as it appears redundant. I will continue to make some customizations later, but now I am working on articles.

Thanks to all who are supporting me!

Where you from, OP? If you are from Europe you should also add WP plugin to stay on the good side of the law - I'm talking about EU regulations regarding usage of website cookies.

Something like Cookie Law Info or WP Cookies Alert.

    All,

I have scratched this journey and moved on to an affiliate method of making money. I've come to see many mistakes on my part and now with some help from an associate I am finally understanding what the heck I should be doing (I was missing a lot of little details). Thanks to all of you who were cheering me on. It was not wasted, I'm still moving forward, slowly but surely.
