Evening fellas,

New guy here :-)

I've been doing IM/online stuff for years with varying degrees of success. I've had periods where I've made a lot of money, periods where I've done ok, and periods where I'm not making (almost) any money, like now. My problem is simply that I'm very prone to boredom and procrastination, which in turn keeps me from being consistent with things.

This is my attempt at achieving a modest but stable income of 2500 EUR by the end of the year. I'll consider the goal achieved when I make at least that much for 3 months in a row.

How am I going to do it, you say? I'm going to be toying with a variety of projects, mostly revolving around the following niches/themes/ideas:
  • Adult Websites: I'm building a WH site with a friend in a fairly small, but potentially very profitable niche. I'm also going to build a collection of smaller sites so I can play with the traffic and see if I can make adult traffic convert. It all ties in together into a small "adult empire" of sorts.
  • PPI/PPD: I used to do this rather successfully a few years ago and quite enjoyed the process so I'm going to be setting up and testing a variety of PPI/PPD methods I've come up with after doing some research.
  • Freelancing: I'm a software developer by trade specializing on Web apps (backend) and automating things (many a bot has been brought to life by this pair of hands) and I also make a pretty decent sysadmin. I'll be setting up a nice portfolio-style Website on my namesake domain and I'll start looking for prospective clients soon after that.
  • Small, high-traffic sites: I recently stumbled my way into a niche that is very easy to get traffic for. I'm in the process of optimizing my ad strategy for it. My first test made zilch dollars, so I'm going to be making changes every 2-3 days until I make it profitable enough, then I'll simply replicate the site with minor tweaks and target a slightly different demographic, setting up a new one every week.

I'll be updating daily to keep myself accountable and I'll try to be as transparent as possible without revealing too much.

Anyhow, I've kept you long enough. Time for me to get back to work :-)

Great... You are multi talented guy.. Keep it up.. Sold strategy good luck for your journey mate..

You've got talent and motivation, when you mix that with hard work you are bound to be successful

good luck and keep us posted

You are going to make a adult website wheel.
Good to know, I have also thought of making one but problem was traffic always.
I too earn from multiple ways.
All the best

Evening, folks!

First of all, thank you all for the support :).

It's been a reasonably productive day, though it could have been better. This is what I did:
  • Adult: I met my partner for the WH site and we setup a blog where she'll be posting relevant stuff 2-3 times a week. I also got re-acquainted with the source code (the project had been on ice for a couple months) and setup the production server. Reasonably productive, could have done better. I'll be working on the code 2-3 times a week until it's done.
  • Small, high-traffic site: I switched to Piwik for analytics a couple days ago so now I have baseline and I can start optimizing. Turns out my site gets few uniques, but users stay for a really, really long time which I think is really cool. It also explains why my one pup-under ad which pays per UV was averaging 1-2 cents per day. I added a new ad from another network that shows 25% of the time to see how it performs (it's a bit annoying). Something seems to be wrong, though. Stats are not updating on the network's site. Might be a caching issue.
  • Freelancing: Spent some time trying to setup a pro-looking customer portal that would show projects, associated notes, backup and source code downloads, time sheets, invoices, etc. Found a few options, but they all cost money and I'm not in a position to be throwing money away. It looks like I'll be conducting business over e-Mail for the time being and setting this up when I'm making a little more money.
  • PPI/PPD: Decided on exactly which method I'm going to be testing out first. I'm really excited about this one as just about every step can be automated. I'll need to spend a couple of full days building the tools and setting up stuff, but then I'll have automated about 90% of the process. I think I'll start with this tomorrow.

Annnd I'm off to bed.

Not a very productive day today. Had problems with my Internet connection, one of my servers was down most of the day, and had to take care of some offline stuff. Nevertheless, I managed to work for a bit on setting up the PPI/PPD tooling. Will work harder to make up for the mostly lost day tomorrow.

I have the same problem as you, I'll get REALLY focused on something for a while but I get "bored" very fast :/ It's kind of a curse. But at the same time I'm good at a lot of things, just got GREAT at a lot of things ;)

I hope you reach your goals man, I think you can do it (since you have made much more before). Good luck!

EDIT: oops sorry didn't see this was a dead-bumped thread..
