    Hi guys,

Recently graduated and decided to have this here as more of a method for me to keep track of my work and have a push to continue doing my stuff. I have experience in creating sourcing goods, creating eCommerce shops, Design, and slight experience in IM (which is why I'm here on BHW now). I'm also a photographer, so manipulating images, correct editing per niche, I can easily do.

My journey is to make 500k in net sales by the end of 2016.

I am currently running an eCommerce shop where I am buying goods wholesale and selling at a markup of 10x.

Doing the math to get $500,000. I will need to make
    • $1370 in sales per day
    • 91 sales a day
    • 9100 daily views if I convert at 1%

I currently have a whooping average of 6 views per day.. When I initially started I had 1000 UV's a day(due to it catching on virally with a university group) as you can see, I really f*cked up here...

    My plan:
-Increase Instagram accounts. Currently have 3 instagram accounts with 3k , 1.8k and 1.3k follower.
-Sending product to 100+ notable influencers with 5k+ genuine followers. My product costs ~3.50 after shipping. If each of these bloggers have 5000 followers each, then I would essentially reach 500,000 when they share my item. With 1% of those viewing my instagram I'd have 5000 views. And if 1% of those 5000 views convert then I'll have at least 50 sales.
-After a reasonable following (20k+) will be reaching out to influencers with 20k following and booking more models that have much higher followings than that for shoots + share.
    -Learn email campaigns
-Pinterest - Trying this out, any suggested guides or bots welcome.

    TL;DR
    -Build 20 Instagram accounts
    -Try a few Pinterest accounts
-Email campaigns (currently have a 33% open rate but sample size is small)
-Sending goods to 100 Influencers with over 5k-40k in following. Think smaller accounts like @apolis with a tight fanbase.

    Questions/Issues
-Currently bought proxies for the few accounts I have and running them on my computer, but I need to find a more efficient way to run mass accounts at once.
-Made it on major media before but would like to know other methods other than cold emailing journalists. Also $500 just to get a post on HuffPost/TechCrunch/CNN is just a waste of money so I'm not doing that. Suggestions welcome though.
-If you want to share your favorite reads on developing an email campaign/pinterest/instagram, would love to hear it.
-If anyone know any affiliate networks I can use to advertise my good [fashion item], please recommend.

As you are doing some real business, you should consider spending on Advertising on Social Media.
Recently, I heard that the new Instagram advertising thing is working very good, so can check that out too.

I'm seriously considering it, but my business IG only has about 1k follower at the moment with maybe 800 real followers. I've seen some shabby accounts (200 followers, 3k following) doing ads and they just gave a bad vibe.

Have you seen any good ads / accounts lately from IG advertising?

    Day 3 :

-I've created a Pinterest account , 10 followers in a day. Following 130. Figuring out this system
-Got a tumblr bot, started a new account and testing scheduling times. Queued 400+ posts with a post going out every 50 minutes on an account aged for a few months.
-Planning more engaging BUY ME photos, or "right hooks" for Instagram. (Reference to jab jab jab right hook book by Gary Vaynerchuk)
-Sent out product to 5 people , 95 more to go.

Currently need some advice for Facebook fan pages and having engaging content. Following BlackMilkClothing on FB and they are killing it there. Will try to do something similar. Also seems Facebook is one of my biggest source of traffic as well (although that doesn't mean much at this point.)

    So far 1 sale : ~$30. $499,970 to go ;)

    Update :

-eCommerce shop now has a page displaying the feed to my Tumblr account, which is pulling niche related photos that are proven to be viral (by the notes).
-Set up Pinterest account to share these photos from my website with the tumblr feed, providing link juice to my site.

I do, but I don't know where to start on these two. Do you have any readings, guides, or journeys you'd recommend?

    Side note:
-I am gaining an average 2-5 facebook like a week from doing nothing. (The official company page)
-Haven't updated Twitter since October (official company page)

    Update

    Pinterest:
-10 followers on Pinterest a day, currently at 38.
    -7 page views from Pinterest.
(Not enough Data but I can see this snowballing into something good)

    Instagram:
-Gotten a few tags from people, but not much traffic driven over.
-We recently did a collaboration with a girl who was in a few major shows, so we'll see how that goes. S
-Posting a photo a day, although this might not be enough. I notice Frank_Bod posting like 5+ images a day! Also seeing them tag a lot of companies lately, (@lovestoriesau, @dirtymelon, etc)

    Tumblr :
    -Following 200 a day
-128 followers/1089 following... bad ratio? It's okay though I have a feed on my main page that is streaming my Tumblr content, which I then pin on Pinterest so I have an endless stream of photos without having to go out and take them.

A tip if you're doing FB ads,

Facebook love video, you can get video ads WAY cheaper, at like $0.04 and the convert well too.

    Update :

-Gaining about ~10 followers a day on Pinterest. Joined a group with a couple thousand in following my pins are getting some traction. Nothing too crazy though and not much traffic to my site from Pinterest.
-Got a burst of about 15+ page views from a Instagram mention the other day from a popular blogger. Photo had a couple thousand likes and people commenting about the sunglasses! No buys though..
(Thinking of providing more of an incentive when I give these items to people so they're more enthusiastic and provide value for their customers to buy)
-180 followers on Tumblr as of now.

As of now got 3 blog mentions from people with around 5k following.

    Update :

-7 Sales in the last week
-Over 3 shoutouts from major accounts. Although Instagram following is still around the same 1300.
-2 More blog mentions, have some traffic going onto main site from there.
-Joined 2 pinterest community boards. Posts from my page are getting repins and seeing some traffic from there.
-Atleast 4 more collaborations on the way with a business + some fashion bloggers.

I'm probably a little late to the party but I want to throw some questions at you.

How do you gain followers on Pinterest? Community boards only? Other ways?

How has the strategy been working for you in regards to the sending product to influencers? Do they actually promote your product without you paying them?

I haven't done any SEO besides getting interviews from bloggers.
