    Sup Everybody.

    Welcome to my first Journey!

Been actively planning on doing this for quite some time now (over 6 months), but things haven't been in the best condition to go for it. Actually, I did make the attempt back in Feb/March but things didn't go as planned (made a few mistakes and there was just too much other shit going on).

Anyway, here's my official attempt so let's get started!

    GOAL:

To bring in a steady $300 from a combination of various revenue sources (see below) stemming mainly from the porn site I'm going to make and some media buying.

    METHOD:

Here's a breakdown of the general phases in the simplest terms...
    1. Spend about 2 weeks growing some niche specific tumblr blogs
    2. While the blogs grow, work on building my site
    3. After 2 weeks, start directing traffic to my site
    4. Work out any bugs in the functioning of my site
    5. Start stacking bank from my various monetization methods
    6. Get into a good flow with my site and use some of the money made to start delving into the media buying world.
    7. Keep grinding until I reach $300/day
    8. Start scaling and pulling in some real dough!

This is pretty much a VERY vague outline of each phase.

As I transition from phase to phase, I'll post an in-depth summary of what I plan on doing, what I plan on achieving, and how. Then I'll try to update the thread at least once a day on the progress made that day.

MONETIZATION METHODS: (I'll add to this as I make firm decisions on what I choose to utilize)

    Plugrush
    ImageTwist
    Popads.net
    Crakrevenue
    Exoclick (?)
    Juicy Ads (?)

I'll really start the thread tomorrow, with an in-depth summary of Phase 1.

Also, I think this could be a good follow for any noobs out there; so I'm more than willing to answer any questions as I go.

I know tons of people on here are far beyond well off, but at the age of 22, going from a pt job to $300/day (which is over 6 figures a year) would be an amazing feat in my eyes. It'd certainly give me everything I need to live to life I desire and accomplish goals I have in mind without compromise over the next few years.

I have ZERO intention of stopping before I reach my goals (and even then, goals are meant to be surpassed).

    Wish me luck!

Stay lurking for 6 months is something that has cost you too much time, you had to take action before.
So good luck for this journey, I will follow you (hope you can make your money and I think is possible because you've diversified your streams of income).

    PHASE 1:

SPEND 2 WEEKS GROWING NICHE SPECIFIC TUMBLR BLOGS

    MAIN GOAL:

Build a small army of 200 popular nsfw tumblr blogs with an average follower count of 500 per blog, that can be utilized to drive traffic to my adult site.

    TIME FRAME:

    Two Weeks

    TOOLS:

    Tumblr Bot
    Private Proxies
    Scrapebox
    Pics, Pics and more Pics

    WHAT'S BEEN DONE SO FAR:

So as I've said, I've already made an attempt at this journey before but it failed due to me kinda half-assing it, making noob mistakes and just not being in the right space (in terms of other things going on) to truly dedicate myself to it. (Money was also a huge factor.)

Obviously for this method, the tumblr blogs will be my life source (at least in the beginning), because without them, I have no real heavy traffic; so I must nurture them like babies.

When I first half-assed this journey, here's the checkpoints I followed for creating my blogs...

    • Choose a niche as well has how many blogs to create
    • Collect pics for niche(s)
    • Create blogs and optimize them for success
    • Load up pics and let them follow/reblog/like to build followers

Here was my ORIGINAL approach to each checkpoint....

    CHOOSE NICHE/HOW MANY BLOGS

I chose the gay niche because I'm gay lol. So I certainly have no problem looking at hot guys all day as I work out my method. Also, I count myself lucky because there is FAR less competition.

Also, I decided on creating 1000 tumblr blogs. (HUGE noob mistake lol)

However, just like straight porn, gay porn is divided into a wide variety of sub-categories. So to make my blogs more niche specific, I wanted to divide the 1000 blogs into smaller groups by sub-categories.

To do this with the greatest effectiveness I visited one of my go-to gay porn sites that has a huge category list and made a list of all the ones I knew/thought were the most popular.

I then cross-checked each category's search popularity for tumblr using Google Trends using the following search format...
    "[category term] gay tumblr"

Using the data from that, I combined some categories and ignored some others and devised the proper ratios for dividing 1000 tumblr blogs into the final sub-categories I'd decided on.

    Overall, I decided on a total of 16 sub-categories.

    Mistakes in ORIGINAL Approach:

The absolute biggest mistake at this point was the decision to make 1000 tumblr blogs. Smh, it simply was not a sustainable goal to put myself in a position where I'd have to maintain 1000 different tumblr accounts. At least not with the level of quality that I was going for (I'm big on quality over quantity, as I feel it reaps better results).

Also, I only had 200 private proxies and I was going by the idea that up to 5 accounts per proxy was generally safe (although 1 account per proxy is your best bet to help avoid bans). The idea was that I'd update the queue of the accounts on a 5-day rotation in groups of 200... but it simply just wasn't a good idea.

    Once again, noob mistake.

Besides that, I was probably a little over-analytical in my assessment of exactly how many blogs for each category. I was VERY thorough with that one haha... broke everything down into exact numbers.

I'm an engineering student, so I kind of crave detailed analysis. Either way, anyone who does media buying or has thoroughly researched it will probably agree that this is a good quality to have. So I think my slight OCD for analysis will eventually work to my benefit.

    COLLECT PICS FOR SUB-CATEGORIES:

I scoured the internet bookmarking and collecting urls of sites where I could get hot pics for my sub-categories. The idea was that after I had this massive collection of urls and pics to download, I'd scrape/download them all with Scrapebox and another tool I had.

This was a daunting task/procedure and it wasn't until I'd essentially finished that I realized that not only did I not have anywhere near enough pics to sustain 1000 tumblr blogs, but scraping and downloading from the various pin/porn/gallery sites I'd scoured was not turning out to be as simple as I'd hoped.

Originally I didn't want to use pics already from tumblr because I thought that since they were already on the site, no one would bother paying them any attention on my blogs.

How foolish of me. I mean c'mon... tumblr is enormous. On top of this, a good thing to know is that only a small fraction of people (I believe like 10%) even bother to tag the pics they post; so the vast majority of pics posted up are only seen by followers and through reblogs.

Using this knowledge I quickly reformed my pic gathering tactic to the following...

For each of my 16 sub-categories I compiled a small list of words that are typically searched in connection to those gay adult categories. I then threw these lists into Scrapebox and configured it to only search tumblr and blogspot.

And just like that, Voila! I now had hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of tumblr and blogspot blogs related to each of my 16 categories.

Next I stripped out duplicates and dead links and compiled the remainder into lists depending on the sub-category.

Since not every blog I scraped is going to necessarily be NSFW/what I'm looking for, I began periodically loading the urls into Google Images to make sure it's content was worth scraping. If it was, the blogs url was put into a finalized list of blogs to use for pics.

The tumblr bot I bought comes with an image scraper so I just use that to scrape the blogs and save the images to my hard drive.

Since I'm big on quality, I also have software that goes through the downloaded images and removes duplicates. I then go through the files and delete images that I feel aren't quality enough/worthy for my blogs.

It's a long process but it certainly delivered in terms of followers, as I had no problem racking them up pretty quickly.

I still haven't gone through all the urls I've scraped, so this will still be my go-to method for collecting pics for my blogs.

    Mistakes in ORIGINAL Approach:

Obviously my original approach to obtaining pics was COMPLETE noob thinking and was beyond inefficient.

    CREATE BLOGS/OPTIMIZE FOR SUCCESS:

Creating blogs was honestly a headache (and not just because I foolishly decided to shoot for creating 1000 accounts). So by this point I had already purchased my tumblr bot and private proxies, however I still required email account. It honestly took me longer than I would have liked to find some that I could afford (I was experiencing some serious financial troubles at this point), not to mention uncertainty about which email provider to go with. Researched showed that tumblr possibly targets certain providers more than others for bans.

Anyway, I eventually bought my 1000 email accounts from a guy on here but quickly ran into the problem that most (and quickly all) of the accounts were locked (likely a result of how he creates the accounts). He replaced the emails but it quickly happened again. This created issues in account creation with my tumblr bot.

Not only that, but my tumblr bot essentially couldn't (maybe still can't) create accounts, they'd always get insta-banned. This was a pretty frustrating discovery considering I was looking to make 1000 accounts.

In the end, I opted to make all 1000 of the accounts manually. This was by far the MOST TEDIOUS of tasks but I kind of prefer it because it gave the accounts the human touch that helps prevent bans. Either way, with other things going on in life, this took about 3 weeks and I hated it.

For creation of the accounts I first came up with 1000 user/blog names that were sub-category related and attractive for clicks (I implemented some word spinning here but most were hand made).

Making the accounts manually really sucked as I had to register each account under the proxy I was associating with that account, then go to the corresponding email account and click-through the email tumblr sent. (This had to be done manually since the emails were locked). I'd then make sure to unfollow the tumblr admins and set the queue to the most active time-frame for the adult niche (among other things). Also, after making each account, I had to be sure to clear my console, and switch my perceived device to through tumblr off.

After getting over half of the accounts created, I realized that my tumblr bot was having trouble liking/reblogging/following with the accounts because they were set to not show adult-related results by default and for some reason, my tumblr bot was having trouble switching this off. So I had to go back into all the accounts I'd already made and switch this off.

In short, account creation was NOT FUN.

    Mistakes in ORIGINAL Approach:

I actually don't think there were very many 'mistakes' in this area. Most of my issues arose from limitations brought on by financial constraints (not being able to afford better emails or a more robust tumblr bot). Besides that, things just took some time figuring out what approach I needed to take to make things work. This isn't an exact science (as we all know) so a good portion of things will be healthy problem-solving.

LOAD UP PICS/SET BLOGS TO BUILD FOLLOWERS:

As I said before, maintaining 1000 quality blogs wasn't a sustainable goal. In regards to this section, I mostly just loaded up pics from my finalized folders organized by sub-category. I tried to start each account off with 30 pics and then maintain 20 per day with some being reblogs. I only really concentrated on likes/follows/reblogs for like the first week of an accounts existence, because after that, they typically would build on their own.

As stated earlier, the goal was to update the blogs' queues on a 5-day rotation in batches of 200 blogs at a time. I made sure all pics had niche-related tags and a click-through link back to the original blog. I also had built some small lists of terms specific for each sub-category that my tumblr bot could use for liking/reblogging/following.

A big problem here was that I have a shitty computer, so updating this many blogs was a slow process as I had to keep the number of threads low. I also wanted to keep (what I thought was) a healthy time-lapse inbetween actions so tumblr doesn't insta-ban me.

I maintained this for about 3 weeks before I mistakenly let my bot update a batch of 200 blogs WITHOUT using their individual proxies. With so many actions coming from one IP, tumblr banned essentially all 200 accounts as well as any connected to the corresponding proxy IP's they'd originally been built with. This resulted in nearly all 1000 of the accounts getting wiped out and essentially ended the journey for the time being.

I didn't exactly, throw in the towel after this incident. I actually looked back and decided where I should change my approach to this method and began working on it again rather quickly. However, with other things going on in life as well as my inability to financially support the creation of a porn site at the time, I just decided to put things on hold.

    Mistakes in ORIGINAL Approach:

Besides the already stated foolishness of trying to maintain 1000 quality blogs, a big mistake here was my eagerness to allow my tumblr bot to perform actions without a truly healthy time-delay. The delays I used didn't seem to be horrible, as I wasn't getting many account bans, but in retrospect, they weren't realistic for the actions my accounts were performing.

Also, the idea of rotating the updating of my accounts in groups while having multiple on each proxy wasn't necessarily a horrible idea, but to ensure longevity, I don't plan on doing it again.

Besides that, a lot of things here were once again just trial and error.

    CHANGES MADE TO PHASE 1:

    • Avoid all recognized mistakes from original approach
    • Only make 1 account per proxy
    • Update accounts on a daily basis, rather than moderately loading up the queue (this is mainly a result of the capabilities of my current laptop)
    • Be a tad more active in liking/reblogging/following

    WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE:

After the fallout from the massive ban of the original journey attempt I decided on sticking with just 200 tumblr accounts. I actually made over 100 of them before I decided to put things on hold.

    • Recover any existing tumblr accounts and create more so that I have 200 of them
    • Check forum of my tumblr bot for any bugs/fixes/updates
    • Update my tumblr bot
    • Check out my pic collection and do any reorganizing/scraping/downloading
    • Compile updated list of terms for tumblr to use when liking/following/reblogging for various sub-categories
    • Reinstate my 200 proxies
    • Begin sifting through massive list of tumblr blogs for ones worth scraping
    • Start posting/following/reblogging/liking with 200 blogs
    • Keep updating my blogs until they have an average follower count of 500 per blog and are ready to transition into Phase 3
    • Start the serious dedication to Phase 2 after about a week into Phase 1

GOALS TO ACHIEVE BEFORE NEXT THREAD UPDATE:

    • Reinstate my 200 proxies
    • Recover any existing tumblr accounts and create more so that I have 200 of them
    • Check forum of my tumblr bot for any bugs/fixes/updates
    • Update my tumblr bot
    • Check out my pic collection and do any reorganizing/scraping/downloading
    • Compile updated list of terms for tumblr to use when liking/following/reblogging for various sub-categories

hello op, all the best for your journey.
A simple noob question. I'm only getting uniques from my tumblr account, not any conversion. Doing something wrong or what?
    Got like 2500 followers .
    Thanks

Im a few months into a similar first attempt op. Got my porn site running. I didnt make a tube site etc i built one that i can do proper seo on. I use tumblr, nowhere near that level of accounts though. All in iv got around 20k on there. Iv also started twitter recently and its honestly just as good, if not better than tumblr for adult traffic. Iv recently switched over to webcamwiz. You can design your own webcam site and get 35% revshare. It looks really good but dont think i have enough traffic yet so switching back to PPl. Good luck on your journey

Wow.. you did SO MUCH work and it all resulted in a ban. Props to you for not giving up on this. Btw: if you want to create 200 accounts then it means you will have to shell out at least $200-400/month for semiprivate/private proxies?

Yea that thread was actually one of my original inspirations way back when I first took interest in making money from porn. Since then, I've gathered so much knowledge across various sources that I really feel there's nothing left to do but get to work!

I actually really like the bot I bought. It's not perfect, but it certainly is beyond worth it for what I paid. I researched all the known bots before I made a purchase and this one seemed the best for my needs and budget. Plus, the support is great.

Where are you directing the visitors to? Or did you configure a way to incorporate ads into your blog?

Wrd. When you say 20K, are you talking about your number of tumblr followers or monthly/daily visits to your site? And yes! I'm possibly thinking of eventually going into twitter as well because from what I've gathered, it's great for providing traffic. But I'm not really a twitter person haha, besides I don't want to spread myself too thin in the beginning so I'm holding off on it until tumblr is on full auto-pilot. And yea I know of webcamwhiz, I've got a vast organized inventory of bookmarks concerning pretty much every aspect of building a porn site and profiting from it lol.

Yea I know right lol. Ah well, noob mistakes, learning process, half-assing things... all that jazz. And no, I only pay $125/month for 200 private (not-semi) proxies. Like everything else, I did a ton of research before settling on a proxy provider and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Yeah i mean 20k tumblr followers. I hate twitter as well. The account i have is 4 years old cause i never used iy but bit the bullet an you can get followers quicker than tumblr i found. Im only averaging around 700 visitors a day to my site but il keep plugging away and make it grow.
