Since I'm from germany, I'm doing it the german way which makes far more sense to me anyway.
When you invest $100 and get $100 in return, you made even so you got your investment returned to a 100%.
If you invest $100 and get $200 in return, you doubled your investment (200% ROI).

The Journey Day 2:
As announced yesterday, I raised the budget for the campaign I'm running to $200/day. What I noticed is that there is some fluctuation during the ad-campaign. I'll have to keep an eye on this so hopefully I can adjust the ad accordingly.

Summary Yesterday:
FB-Ads: $200
Return: $270.21 ($257.50 + Bonus: $12.71)
Profit: $70.21

Summary Total this month:
FB-Ads: $278
Return: $368.23 ($355.52 + Bonus: $12.71)
Profit: $90.23

Don't want to derail your thread on a relatively minor detail, but for the sake of anyone else who may be confused about how ROI works, I'll elaborate a bit further.

The link you provided states the same formula as I mentioned above: ROI = Profit / Cost
Profit can be understood as: Profit = Total Revenue - Total Cost

Using your example, you can think of ROI like so: When you invest $100 and receive a total of $100 in return, you made even, so you haven't actually made any money yet, you've simply recovered your initial investment. You have a Total Cost of $100, a Total Revenue of $100, and a resulting profit of $0, which gives you a 0% ROI. The reason the ROI is zero is because there is exactly zero difference between your starting value of $100, and your ending value of $100. In other words, you're exactly where you started before you invested the $100. But, if you do the calculation your way, then you'd think there was a 100% difference between now and before you invested the $100, which is obviously not true since you have the same amount of money as you started with.

However, let's say you invest $100 and receive a total of $150 in return, then I'm sure everyone can agree the profit here is $50. This would give you ($50/$100)=50% ROI, which tells you that on an investment of $100, you generated a return of 50% of that in profit. In other words, there is a 50% difference between the value you started with ($100) and the value you ended up with ($150).

ROI is a frequent metric used when discussing campaigns that cost money to run, so having a good grasp of it will come in handy should you begin reading case studies, or other journeys.

Good luck, btw

Yes, you are right - the normal way to calculate ROI is like you said. I always thought its Return OF Investment and I never learned this so I just made up my own calculation which is in my eyes reasonable when its OF and not ON Investment ;)
Anyway to not confuse other people, I'll continue to just post the actual numbers without the RofI :D

I have only one ad running right now.

others
I didn't answer your questions because they are irrelevant - you didn't read the thread and my other answers, else you wouldn't ask questions that have nothing to do with my journey at all.

For clarification:
I signed up at a service (kinda like mylikes but they pay way better) and get links provided by them for promotion. There are links to different kind of content in different niches (entertainment, health, animals etc). I'm using one of these links and promote it via Facebook-Ads.
Super simple - anyone can do this without knowledge as long as he has some money to start off.

For today till now around half of my budget on FB has been spent (~$100). I started a bit in the negative but it picked up again and bow I'm ~$50 in profit. So I see a pattern here because it was the same yesterday and for tomorrow I will try something to make a better return.
I also got to the next bonuslevel and earn 10% on top of my earnings. To make this more transparent I edited the last post (for day 2).

Man, I though the ROI was off by 100% :D
Anyways, it seems that you have a winning campaign. Can't you spend more daily to increase your profits?

Its just the third day now and the budget is at $200 per day already... I'll let my stomach decide when/if I'll raise the budget ;)

I can't post links or images yet but wanted to show you this (as said I'm trying to keep track of the money spent on FB and the money I earn).

As you can see, when I got up I was in a loss. Then, when I crossed $50 for today, I got a Bonus of $15 for earning $50 consecutively for 3 days :) The ROI is calculated with the CORRECT formula and its rising throughout the whole day.

With the data I gathered yesterday, I see a pattern here that the traffic before 7 AM (LONDON TIME) is either too expensive on Facebook or doesn't perform good enough on the service's website. A quote from their website:
The time of day matters to your eCPM. Sending traffic on USA peak hours for example, will have lower eCPM than non-peak hours. It's called Supply and demand. To achieve best results, you should send consistent traffic throughout the entire day. Don't try to target only peak hours when it's easiest to get traffic.

Task for tomorrow:
Pause ad during US peak hours and see if it has any effect on the ad.

The Journey Day 3:
Instead of pausing the campaign (had negative effects on other ads previously because they go back on review) I lowered the budget for now to $50. This way the ad is still delivering but less traffic. Beside the mentioned bonus (+10% on everything) there is another bonus called 'Streak Bonus'. I'll explain that another time - but it made me an additional $15 today.

Summary Yesterday:
FB-Ads: $200
Return: $324.78 ($281.62
+ Streak Bonus: $15 + Loyalty Bonus: $28.16)
Profit: $124.78

Summary Total this month:
FB-Ads: $478
Return: $693.01 ($637.14 +
Streak Bonus: $15 + Loyalty Bonus: $40.87)
Profit: $215.01

For me that's an awesome improvement and I'm already exited to see how lowering the budget will work out. Of course I will raise the budget again later and hope to then get more of the better performing traffic.

This had an awesome effect until now (budget is back to $200 since two hours already) and since it usually only gets better the later the day, I'm curious on how much I will make today in total :)
Right now I spent ~$30 on the ad and earned ~$42 - thats a ROI of ~40% and the best I had yet at this time of the day!

If this thread is legit and NOT a pre-sell on a shitty program, I'm impressed.
Keep it up OP.

Thanks :) And You can be sure that I'm not going to sell anything ;)
Actually I'm thinking about a free guide/ebook with more detailed information when I reach my goal including screenshots etc.
Then I will also reveal the service I'm using...

hi OP, keep it up.

Can you share your fb ads details, such as direct linking, interest target?
