Let me start this journal off by saying that I'm an 18 year old student, that has been dreaming for quite a while. I started looking into Internet marketing when I was 16 years old. Now I've learned quite a bit from internet marketing and it's time to get to work. I've been working for the past 2 years, so I've saved up some money to get me started, but I know that I will invest it wisely, and reinvest as I go on. I will update this journal daily, showing what I have done. I always have new ideas popping out. Hopefully it will keep us all motivated (Including myself)

My goal is really to create a network of websites. Selling the ones that are too hard to maintain, and work harder on the ones that are worth increasing. I want to get into e-commerce websites, but not too focused on that right now.

Right now I have classes everyday from 8AM to 12PM, the rest of the day I have to myself to work on my websites.

    Authority Sites

I have two websites that I would like to turn into authority websites as soon as possible. Both are in the music industry. One is pretty simple, and I'm using youtube to bring in some traffic. The other website, I think, will go viral very quickly. I will be buying facebook likes, youtube views, twitter followers, just to start up the website a little. I have a budget of 300$ for this.

For the first website: I have invested 77$.
For the second website: I have invested 580$. (Design, Hosting)

I have a list of long tail keywords (About 50) ranging from 1000 to 80,000 keyword searches a month. This might look like a lot, but I'm planning on reinvesting 30% of my revenue in SEO. It will obviously take quite a long time to rank for all these keywords, but I will make sure to do my best investing into SEO. The good part is that all the content is coming from myself. I will be writing 5-10 articles a day for both websites.

    Monetizing using: Adsense

    Micro Niche Websites

As of now, I have 3 micro niche sites. I tend to like making authority sites and getting a good design done, but I do understand that micro niche websites can be up in a matter of minutes with a free premium wordpress theme and still look amazing. I plan on making more as I get more time for keyword research.

    Niches: Xbox, Fitness, Hot women.

    Monetizing using: Adsense

    Additionial Method

A couple of my friends have had some success with this method. It's very old, but people are still banking with it, and you can easily outsource it. Basically, you pick a free trial offer from one of your CPA networks. Make a landing page, and a print out fliers and hand them out around your city. If you have money to outsource it, you can pay someone 8-10$/hour to hand them out in front of a subway station.

I will definitely be testing this method very soon. Either with an e-mail submit or a free trial offer.

    SEO Places/Rep Management

A member on this forum inspired me to start testing this. I've always been a good salesman but don't know if this would be the good direction for me to go. I've also read 7878's threads, and I have to say, he's given a lot to the community, that is basically spoon-fed. I will definitely try to read more on it and test it out if I can. I have a binder full of information ready to be read on how to start an offline business concerning online marketing. I would definitely outsource the SEO work.

I can't wait to start this journey. I'm not rushing into anything, but I'll make sure I'm working hard because that's what it takes to be successful. You can be fortunate, a spoiled-brat, daddy's girl/boy, but to me you're not successful if you're not working hard. I did this to keep me motivated, and hopefully it will help others as well.

    Question:

Do you guys outsource most of your SEO or do it yourself?
Do you guys know any tool that informs you on your keyword competition, serp position, etc besides Market Samurai or is MS really the best one?

You can do it. I too started when I was 16, I just turned 21 and started working full time online about 6 months ago, so I was 20 then. Word to the wise, use more then one method to make money i.e adsense and something else.....and something else.

When I first started out I was solely dedicating my authority site to Amazon products. Amazon changed something in their TOS and I lost more than half my commissions, I was 18 making almost $900/month and so I was living fully off of my Amazon commissions so when I was cut down to $350-450 I was pissed and had to learn that lesson the hard way. Now I have 2 authority sites one uses adsense and Amazon and the other is simply adsense. I also own dozens of micro niche sites that are promoting for Commission Junction, Plimus, Avengate etc. EMD mico sites can bring in some nice change if you know how to work them.

Do regular backups of your sites and make sure to secure them, which is easily done when working with wordpress.

Time Management is also extremely important. Try to limit "wasteful activities" online to only 1 hr a day by using "StayFocused" it's an extension for the Chrome browser.

I don't mean to preach, I just know what you're most likely going to be facing since we're close in age.

And remember, you don't "fail" when something doesn't work like you thought it would, better yet, you simply found a way not to do it therefore bringing you one step closer to success.

    Good luck!

Best of luck to you! $200/day would be a huge feat if you haven't been making anything though you sound like you have a good idea of what you want.

Thank you very much. I will be updating it as much as possible.
Thank you for such great advice.

That's one thing I'm scared of though. That's why I want to spread out the methods, but I'm also scared that if I try to do too many things, none of them will get done properly. I will work as hard as possible to get things done. Please follow my journey, you seem like you can help myself and others throughout the journey!

    Thank you!
I'm making money, but not as much as I'd like too right now. I have some work to do!
Thank you! I will keep you guys updated!

    Update

I added 10 youtube videos to my youtube account that links to one of my authority websites. The thing is, my website is taking way too much time to load, and I need to correct that by changing the theme. So I'm looking for a theme right now.

I also purchased a gig on fiver. It's a link pyramid, I made it go to one of my micro niches. I want to keep my authority websites really white hat. It doesn't matter if it takes more time, or more money. It's definitely worth it. Here's the link: http://fiverr.com/dino_stark/build-eminent-backlink-pyramid-with-5000-high-pr-profiles
He also delivered it very quickly. It was done today.

I also did a bit of keyword research today. How do you guys go about keyword research ? Do you just come up with brand new keywords in your head or you have a tool doing it for you? Personally, I just go with something that sounds interesting to me, and that I can blog about. Something that isn't very competitive most times.

About keyword research go to download section and download the google scrapper tool. Add proxies and get 800-900 keywords. load them in MS or Traffic travis and check for competion and backlinks and choose. You should have some 30-50 by the end depending on niche.

If you want more sure and better way check out BTB keywords resarch thread.

Did you upload all videos to one account or diff accounts?

    Thanks for the help!

I added all the videos to the same account because it's the same niche. I will post an update tomorrow as I'm starting to build my Authority website tonight. It's going to take a lot of hard work.

    Update

Okay so far everything's been good. I've uploaded a total of 30 youtube videos, which isn't much but it's still something to work on. I've researched all my long tail keywords for my biggest/main niche. I know I will rank for these easy. I'm also going to be putting a lot of money into SEO at this stage, it's a necessity for a website if you want it to become an authority website that people enjoy reading.

I used Excel to organize all my work. I have a few ideas for E-commerce websites. This within 1-2 months though, not right now. I put the keywords, CPC, and others next to their keyword. I also listed the traffic potential, the cost, and the estimated ROI. If my math is good, it's going to be a hell of a ride!

For my second biggest niche, the website is still being designed. (I like to get my website designed, they look a lot more unique and have their own twist to it). I bought 5 EMD domains that I did keyword research for. All of them have over 5000 Local Searches and over 0.70$ CPC which is good to me. I will be building them up slowly, getting some revenue, and possibly flipping them. If this works out well, then I will keep on repeating the same steps.

I have yet to try the flyer method. I do want to try it, but I have to find the good time to start printing out 1000 flyers. I'm going to outsource the work to kids at school, and they'll hand them out. I'll let you guys know on the results.

I also might need a coder with little experience. It's a tiny little job. Let me know if you guys know any!
