    Hello BHW. :)

This thread will catalog my journey to 1 million monthly viewers on Pinterest.

For those unaware, a view on Pinterest is merely an impression in their feed.
Someone who clicks on your pin is an "engaged viewer", and someone who clicks the link to your site is listed as a link click in Pinterest analytics.

How many website clicks you get depends on enticing you make your pins, with some users varying widely from 25,000 to 200,000+ visitors per 1 million viewers on Pinterest.

I expect my site to fall somewhere in the lower middle, at about 50,000-75,000 website visitors per 1 million viewers.

I'm not exactly sure how long it will take me to reach 1 million monthly viewers, but hopefully not too long!

As for my strategy, it's actually quite white hat and simple. :)

    Social Sharing + Pinning
I use tailwind pinterest scheduler to schedule sharing other people's content to my profile boards.
This is done to increase baseline engagement on my profile, which makes me more authoritative in Pinterest's eyes (they promote users that share other's content).
Plus, it also fills my boards with content and should help my content be promoted to others since Pinterest can see they are related.

Currently I have the program working to pin approximately 13 times per day of other people's content that I choose beforehand to ensure it's high quality. Very easy to stay an active pinner this way.

    Pinning My Own Content
I pin my own content manually through my browser. I prefer it this way to scheduling it in tailwind, as I can pin it as soon as it's made and not have to worry about scheduling it in tailwind.

I make a good image with Canva then pin my link + image to the most relevant board first, then to broader niche boards.

Doing these two alone should be enough to bring my monthly viewership to 1m+ within a few months time as long as I can pump out 2-3+ pieces of content daily.

As long as I stay consistent, a few pins will eventually go viral and bring lots of visitors.

So far, I have been doing this strategy and gotten mild results with about 20 pieces of content.

I believe pin impressions start off slowly, especially for new accounts without a history of engagement and pinning.
Once Pinterest tests my content and sees the viral potential I believe we will see impressions explode.:smirk:

I'll post here daily in the beginning as I check my Pinterest stats daily when they update (8pm CST).

    Wish me luck BHW!

    How actionable are your pins?

If they’re something which doesn’t strongly entice users to come to your site (normal-ish blog content) I could see how 2m viewer would bring 20k monthly visitors. That’s certainly not bad at a all though!

How many pins do you have?

I got my projection from other sites in my niche which are more clickbait-y viral style.

You need to add google images seo to your strategy.

Google images serps are full of pinterest results. Pinterest must get a lot of its traffic from google images and you sure won't want to miss those visitors.

I believe this should come on its own. My Pinterest titles and descriptions are keyword optimized and the images are good quality. Should be no issue ranking on image search with Pinterest.

    Thank you for the suggestion!

I hope you achieve your goal of 50k - 75k website visits from 1M. Personally I think it may be a little optimistic. However if you are sharing great content then you might reach your goal. Good luck.

    Thank you!
Thank you. It's very targeted and viral-style content that should really engage people who see it. I have seen reports of people who somehow manage to get 200k sessions to their site from 1m views, although I think they are among the top 0.001% of Pinterest experts.

Following your journey. Really interested in how it'll turn out for you, since I obviously do something wrong with Pinterest...
    Good luck SadJester.

There was a method somewhere in which you could let others pin stuff to your boards. Don't know exactly how at the moment but I assume it would be inviting people that followed you back to your boards and letting them add posts. Look into it. Good luck.

I am just starting my own Pinterest + eCom, so I am following your journey. Are you doing blogs or eCom or Affiliate?

I am doing a viral magazine style site, which I guess would be closest to a blog. I know that ecom can work very well for Pinterest, I’ve seen several obvious dropshipping or print on demand products that have lots of respond. Just make sure you have rich pins enabled so they know it’s a product they can buy AND they can buy right from Pinterest if they want.

Good idea, we can all learn together!
