Hi, can you give us some tips about web development, what level should i be with HTML,css, javas, PHP and which libraries are must-have? Not talking about fast gaining 10k/m but for long term learning by making sites for others, and ofcourse some money :p

    Updates:

    - I talked to my former adwords guy, he agreed to meet me tomorrow. This should be good.
    - Starting over with hiring salespeople, the current one left.
    - Got a new skype call on my calendar (tomorrow). If I close this deal, I'll reach the 10k this month too.

Your main focus should be wp. Unless you want to get a programming job you won't need php or even js. I also recommend basic Photoshop skills. Start with personal projects then upwork+fiverr. That should be enough to bring 1k-2k per month, if you work full time, in about a year. When you're ready for more, learn sales or partner up with people who can sell for you and start your own shop.

    October goal: $10000
    Earned: $9500
    Spent: ~$1700

    • Got 1k yesterday from recurring payment. I couldn't reach 10k this month, though close enough.
    • Couldn't pull any new clients this week. The Monday skype call was postponed and prospect is MIA.
    • Hiring salesppl is not going well so far, but eventually I will find someone, just need to see more candidates than I wanted. Slow finding a fb guy as well.
    • Meeting with former adwords guy didn't go well. Unfortunately he wants half of the business to return, which is ludicrous. On some level this might be a decent idea, considering I might lose 2 clients next month and the others might leave as well soon after.

    • Closed a new client ($500/mo). I contacted him back in September, but no reply until 5 days ago.
    • Still working on new hires. Nothing yet, but I got a plan.
    • The former adwords guy hasn't replied to my new offer. He's either hardballing or already making good money on his own.

    Hi brother!
I am selling websites, but trying to add Add Words as a service.
But from what I understand, Google Ad Words, you can modify it for once, and not touch it for months. I created by a client almost intuitively, just look at a mini course and we achieved a CTR of 3.5% (my client is a dentist), but I only charged once, when I did them.
Why are you looking for an Ad Words Man, why don't you do it yourself?
How do you make the customer pay you month by month and see results?

    - Got a sales guy. Tomorrow I got a skype call for him. If he'll do OK, I'm ready to fast track the outreach process. If I can gain clients faster than losing old clients, I will be able to keep growing.
    - Talking to a few new people (specialized in adwords). Not very optimistic though.

That's probably great for your first ppc client. Sounds like you only offered the ad copy, or just created 1 ad group, so that explains the 1 time fee maybe. Next time you should charge monthly, offer ppc management.

I have no skill with adwords. I have the responsibility of clients with 100k per year of ad budget. Best is to hire someone who knows what he's doing and has results.

In this industry, charging 10-20% of ad spent is standard. To me it seems the key is finding the right client. I currently search for people who already spend 6 digits per year on ads overall and can have better results with me.

Hey, read your whole journey so far and great job on it, you inspired me.

A quick question, maybe you answered it already but I've missed it: do you have a firm/company registered or are you doing it individually, if so, are you paying taxes and things like that?

    - Cashed 2k from my biggest client on Monday. This client was disappointed with results, so I paid a consultant to help. We set up a conference call and he was pretty convincing with my client. I'm not sure the strategy he presented would actually work, but at least the client felt the added value, so that's enough for me.
    - The sales guy didn't make it after all. It's kinda hit and miss to find someone so I asked the consultant to sell for me instead, cause he was pretty good in that conference call. He agreed if he hasn't anything else booked. This would be great.

Yes, all legit, company, paying taxes, accountant, just I don't have an office. This is 100% white hat.

    - I'm pretty excited for the coming week. Don't feel like working much today, I'll chill for the most part. So, I'm excited about hiring the consultant for sales. We made a deal, commission based.
    - Basically I'll give him a commission of 100% of the sale (what???). Haha, maybe you wonder why I give him ALL THE MONEY???
    - It's not all the money, it's just the payment for the first month, so if he closes a 1k/mo client he gets 1k, but the recurring revenue will be mine, kinda like how the 100% commission cb offers work, but in my case I will split his fee over 2 months, so he gets half the first month and the rest next month, just in case the client wants to pull out after the first month.
    - I cashed 1k a couple days ago from my first client and I'm glad he is satisfied so far. Actually, I'm not that much worried about clients leaving anymore, since I "saved" the big client, plus going to focus on sales more.

This is very different from what I need. Because this service is aimed at ppl just starting out or with low budget, so their goal is to get a one time fee and go to the next, or hope to get a low monthly fee for a while, they focus on quantity, so if I were to outsource to them I might as well need a gazillion clients to get to my current 10k/mo.

When you first started, what kind of businesses did you look for that would be willing to spend $500-1000 for a website? Local businesses only? 1-3 employees? 3-10? 10+?

$1000 seems like a high price for a website, if targeting local businesses.

    - Wooooo!! Consultant agreed to take the skype call tomorrow. I told him to aim for 2k. Really excited to see how this goes. He'll also record the call for me.
    - Got 1k today. This is the client I closed this time last month, making his 2nd payment, he seems happy. I should give more credit to my current adwords guy, he's probably not too bad.
    - I chatted with a fb ads girl who's currently working at a local agency. She seemed very knowledgeable, I'll try to outsource fb ads to her.

When I started I was doing $300 per website. Did $500 later for a personal trainer. The first 1k project at that time was a bundle, so to think of it I never actually got 1k just for web design, but I sure tried with a lot of people.

    - Today is a great day, I cashed from 2 clients in same day, 1k each.
    - But hey... the real awesome stuff is that the consultant CLOSED a sale!! It was soooo funny listening to the recorded skype call. He messed up the negotiation so bad at the end... I am surprised the client didn't back off. He's alright otherwise, just needs to chill on the negotiation.
    - I told him to ask 2k, but he went aggressive af and asked 3k lol... so ended up almost begging until he got the official number of $1650... wtfff... what's with the $50 bucks? hahahaaa.
    - I laughed so hard today, still chuckle when I type this. I told him that he would've gotten 2k had he followed the script. Cash is not yet in the bank, but sent the contract over email, he will pay on Thursday.
    - Also hired a VA today to go hard on the twitter method, cause I can handle more skype calls now.
