Earlier today I read a journey thread here about the Quora partner program. I decided I'd check my old Quora account (0 questions, 0 answers) to see if I could get in the program. Yup, I'm already in it, apparently.

I'll be doing a journey to $1000 with the Quora partnership program. I have no idea if that's actually feasible.

I hear that English questions don't make much money, and that other languages do best. I can only do English, but let's see how this goes regardless.

I've submitted my first 25 questions. In the first hour or two, my questions have a combined ~4500 views. That might turn out to be a cent, or that might turn out to be $5. It looks like you only find out how much you made once a day, so I'll have to wait and see.

Current earnings is zero dollars, but 4500 views in less than 2 hours doesn't seem too bad at all.

I don't know. A year or two, likely. I've never even used Quora other than if it pops up in search results. I only have an account because I accidentally allowed Quora to connect to my Google account once.

How can you monetize this type of service named quora?

I've got my first day of results.

    Questions: 25
    Views: 7.5k
    Earnings: $0.23

It's not too good, however my top earning question ($0.06) only had 136 views. My second top earning question ($0.05) only had 244 views. My two questions with over one thousand views made nothing, as did a bunch of questions with around 500 views.

I guess I will have to look at which questions earned and which questions didn't work out, and write today's questions based on what worked.

I will also be looking at the best time of day for initial views. Last thing is I will attempt some polarizing questions and see if they do better than factual ones.

Additionally, that's only 91 ad impressions despite the 7.5k views. $0.23 for 91 ad impressions is pretty good.

Almost all of my questions were about history. I think two were not. One of those two which were not about history was my top earner. I have a feeling Quora doesn't serve many ads on history questions.

Overall, it's not the worst, but it's pretty bad. I think after some optimization this could be alright.

Its pretty good but I have questions. If you have time you can go for it.

    1. Can you please explain how to join this program?
    2. Is it works only by doing question?
    3. What about answering?

    Waiting for your answers.
    Thanks in advance.

You have to get randomly selected to join. There's supposedly no logic to how invites are sent out.

You earn by asking questions. I believe there's now another option where you can earn if you find a question that someone else already asked but has no answers. If you "request an answer" from other relevant users and they answer the question, it's now your question and you'll earn from it (I think)

    Answering questions doesn't make money.

I now realize that my issue with my 1000 and 500 view questions is that you don't get any ad impressions if you don't get any answers. My most viewed questions got no answers, so they made no money.

    That sucks.

Good luck. I just started doing some questions on my old account to see if i can get an invite soon.

Answering your own questions with other accounts might put you in some trouble with the problem, or not. If you try and have no problems please let us know.

So apparently what I should've been doing is selecting 25 people to "request an answer" from each time. Having people answer questions, regardless of whether it's your question or not, is how you make money.

I previously neglected to request answers because I didn't care to bother people for questions that I didn't really need answering. I am now requesting answers since I know it has a substantial impact on earnings.

It also seems that you can answer your own questions. I'll have to consider that one. Might be a winning tactic, all your initial couple hundred of views when there are usually no answers will be totally monetized if you include your own answer.

I've also tried some polarizing political questions which did seem to get a fair amount of answers and views. I've also posted some fresh, trending topics, so I hope they work well too. I have only just posted them so I don't know yet.

Posted 35 questions today (all time total 61) and requested answers from 25 people on the latest 25 or so.

I see that some people struggle with coming up with questions. It's no problem for me. I wonder if I can say the same after submitting a few hundred more.

I'm also considering posting questions in other languages if the earnings for my 35 questions today are poor. I only know English, so I'll have to figure something out.

Will find out today's earnings in about 10 hours.

No, not USA. A European country.

I don't know how I joined, it seems my Google account was automatically enrolled into the Quora Partnership. I never tried to join.

Oh nice to see another quora journey. Remember you can send 25 requests every 24 hours for each question.

As you stated above English questions don't make a lot a money.. So my advice would be to find a kid and give him 2-5 bucks to translate 50 questions for you in another language.

Second day of earnings are in!

    Day 1 made $0.23 with 25 questions

Day 2 made $1.20 with 35 questions (10 of which don't really count because I didn't "request an answer", which is how you make money)

    Total: $1.43

    ---

That's good. It may not be much, but that is really encouraging. None of my questions did well yesterday with views, and they were all in English. I'm going to do some optimization of English questions today and then look into other languages the next day.

My top earning questions yesterday were...

    1. 350 views - When is the Mueller investigation is going to wrap up?
    2. 610 views - Is Trump right about <controversy>?
    3. 960 views - Did the Flat Earth Society <controversy>?
    4. 150 views - History of Men Wearing Makeup
    5. 590 views - Why hasn't Trump <controversy>?
    6. 260 views - Why didn't <thing> happen after the Civil War?
    7. 190 views - Will Mike Pence <controversy>?
I'm going to be doing a lot of rephrasing recent news articles into questions. That seemed to work okay.
