Having been inspired by Blooops journey thread I thought it'd be fun (and hopefully also inspiring) to start one of my own. Plus having made a slow start to the year I need the accountability!

I was going to start a site from scratch, but I think it would be more interesting to watch the progress of a mostly new site that is already out of the sandbox and making a few sales.

So here's what I've got so far - the site was started in October 2019:

Type of website: Niche wordpress blog (based on one specific type of product)

Affiliate program: Amazon Associates + one or two other independent affiliate programs I haven't yet tested.

Commission: 4.5%

Niche: Fitness (I won't be giving any more details than that)

Product price: $100-$400 approx

Total spent so far: $10 for domain (I already own hosting & wrote the content myself)

Number of articles currently on site: 10

Number of backlinks: 0

And that's pretty much all I've done so far. I just set up the blog, did some keyword research, added 10 articles, and let it sit.

The product in question is one that is popular during the holiday season so I've made some sales already:

October sales: $0
November sales: $19.08
December sales $264.44

January so far: $133.89 (but slowing down)

As this is a fairly narrow niche, I don't envisage the site having more than about 50 posts (I've already got 30 keywords researched, and after that I'll decide if more is needed).

The aim is $1000+ p/m and to eventually sell the site when it has a good enough earnings history.

I'll be updating on a regular basis with what I'm doing, income screenshots etc. and of course I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Best of luck !!! Do you have own content or writer who writes them?

That's awesome, good luck on the journey! Are those sales numbers your commission or total sales revenue?

How many words in those articles
The main "best x product" article is about 4000 words and the rest are around 1500-2000.

Best of luck !!! Do you have own content or writer who writes them?
I do have my own writers but I actually wrote for this site myself as it's a niche I have a personal interest in (I own the product).

Commission. I think that's going to drop significantly now that Christmas and New Year are over though.

Since I posted the thread 2 days ago I've added two articles to the site. One single product review and one product comparison (product 1 vs product 2).

Luckily I've got quite a few low competition keywords to work with, so I should continue to get a few page 1 or page 2 rankings even though I haven't built any links yet. Hopefully, I won't have to spend too much on links for this site when the time comes.

Commissions for the last 2 days:
Jan 19th $8.86
Jan 20th $26.28

Total this month: $169.03

He`s not selling anything through Amazon. He is making money by promoting stuff.
By the way, it looks like a sport niche is a way to go to make money via AZ. Impressive months OP. Do you do keyword research yourself?

How about men's fashion niche???
And bro can I use Amazon products pictures on my site to promote them???

Good luck with your journey! What's your current monthly traffic?
About 150 visits per day. I have one featured snippet though that brings the majority of traffic.

This is an affiliate site so I'm using the Amazon Associates program.

Let me know if i understood right.
Is it a single product review site?
What you have done in 2-3 months is Very impressive!
Following
It's a type of product - e.g treadmills as opposed to one particular model of treadmill (that isn't my niche though)

I've found some of the best low competition keywords for Amazon in the Sports and Outdoors category. Yes I always do the keyword research myself - it's my favorite part of the process to be honest. I'm ok with outsourcing most things but I always find my own keywords.

No idea about men's fashion, it's not a niche I've ever tried. You have to use the Amazon API to get images so you can use the Sitestripe that Amazon provides (which only gives you one main image per product) or there are other plugins available. I use this one: https://www.amzimage.com/

Interesting. If you are not doing any backlinks, does that mean all your traffic came from organic results? I would assume your posts are on first page if you are getting that traffic per month.
