May I ask which printing company? And do you plan using one prining company or two
I paid a designer in Indonesia I have worked with for a long time for 4 designs for $75. Paid another designer I know to make 2 more designs and create the mockups think that was $50.
Thanks ragnar. Love your tv show
I will. Thanks for following along.
Correct. Does not leave much room for me to spend on ads. I have some ideas I can use to improve this
Not sure on which traffic source this first customer came from. Conversion tracking through the pixel was not working properly for that order but I think i've fixed it now. Could have been some direct traffic from someone mashing their keyboard and landing on my domain for all I know haha
I expect they came from Google ads because that's where most of my clicks are coming from for now.
Regardless one order is not enough data to make any judgement about how effective my ads have been. I'll probably need at least 15 orders before my data starts becoming useful.
Good luck if you do start working with shopify in the future. Lots of people are making lots of money with this method. Remember the hardest thing to do is always to start.
Update for today Nov 11 2019
No sales since that first one yesterday. Dedicating my time now to tweaking this set up so I have good ads and a site that converts.
Funny I had some old guy calling my cell through the forwarding number I have on the site. He was asking me if the shirts will be with him by Saturday if he ordered now haha. Had to tell him no because my dropshipper works to a 5 day timescale. I see in shopify he abandoned his cart. Whoop
What I've done:
Created another campaign on facebook ads targeting "traffic" (I guess this means the facebook algo optimises my ad targeting for clicks). My other campaigns were basically getting no clicks.
My click through rate is basically shit. I have other campaigns for my other sites where the click through rate is like 10%-20%. Whereas here the CTR has been like 1%
Created 3 more ads in my ad group with different copy. I am now putting things like "Buy xxx t shirts 2019" in the headline rather than just "xxx t shirts". I am hoping that by using the "buy" keyword I can prompt more people with buying intent to click.
Added google shopping integration for the products. Hopefully generate more traffic to my product pages.
And here's the update on the stats for my store so far:
Traffic and CTR
Facebook ads: impressions 21k, clicks 38, amount spent £21.37
Google ads: impressions 2.98k, clicks 42, cpc £0.82, cost £34.57
Profit and loss
Fulfilment cost: -£28.69
Facebook ads: -£21.37
Google ads: -£34.57
So total profit is -£46.65 so far.
Good luck dude
IMO you should find yourself another supplier even if the quality is lower and the shipping will be lets say 10days and not 2.
Possible. I have a bigger problem atm though - I'm not selling t shirts
I Would suggest going into the DM on insta, Ask 100 influencers if they like the shirts, send em 1, they post a pic, etc... You can try and post a good comment on a new instagram meme pic of some big meme accounts, or accs on your niche. But I would say that on the tshirt POD niche the best deal is to use influencers. Make people know that famous ppl wear them. Ofc I dont know the niche so i cant say much. GL
good luck man
Good idea. I don't do much marketing on insta but I know this would work well for the niche. Will try it and report back.
Thanks mate. I have faith
Update for today November 11 2019
My last significant change was to my google ads to try and boost CTR. Early days but it looks like it worked, will have to wait another week to be sure.
Unfortunately, I've had no more sales yet.
Profit and loss
Fulfillment cost: -£28.69
Facebook ads: -£44.52
Google ads: -£77.59
So I'm -£112.82 in the hole so far.
My next task will be to revise my landing page to try and increase my conversion rate. In the last week I have driven 250 clicks, but only one conversion. I know this is targeted traffic so I was expecting my conversion rate to be much higher.
I am also going to run some ads on Google shopping, for my target keyword the number 1 result is the google shopping carousel, and they are just low quality results from Etsy and Spreadshirt that don't even match the niche properly. I'm confident if I could get my products there I would have some sales.
Will leave you with this quote for today

Update for Today 12 November 2019
Spent some time yesterday optimising my product pages and my category page. I am happy with my traffic as it stands but my site is not converting.
Added Visa, Mastercard, Amex and PayPal logos to the product page
Added big text saying "free shipping" on the product page
Cropped the images of the tshirts on the category page so more of the design is visible
Added a new mockup to headline of the category page of an attractive lady wearing one of the shirts rather than a guy like I had before
Going to add more tshirts to the store, starting thinking maybe my products are just crap. I have only 6 products today and will aim to make this 15 by tomorrow. Should give the customer more choice and maybe help more traffic convert.
Also stopped my Google ads until I get more conversions from the fb traffic.
Still no more sales as of yet
Here is a screenshot of my facebook pixel showing good traffic growth and lots of people viewing products (but again no conversions). Still optimistic.
