Hello guys, after reading a couple thread in this forum I decided to starting out right now. I know some people advice me to read for a while but I'm the type that tends to waste all my time reading ways to make money online and not making the money. After seeing some live case study thread I'm inspired to make this thread. In case this posted in wrong sub-forum feel free to move/close it.

What is this thread about?
This thread will be about me doing ways I find possible to generate some money starting from niche site, affiliates program, ebay reseller/dropship, freelance jobs, etc. I will try to documenting my every action every day no matter how insignificant it is and the cost and return of the strategy.

Why am I doing this?
There are two main of reason why I'm doing this:
1. With proper documentation it can gives me something to look back so I can see what I'm doing wrong and what I'm doing right.
2. It encourages me to do something everyday. I've done everything to make me not giving up from Progressive Working Schedule to To-Do-Lists software but most of the time I quit before I get some result on my project. Then after reading Jeff Atwood blog post about 3 things to do every day I realize that I do not have to create a complicated stuff on it. All I need to is at to have a little progress everyday no matter how small it is to keep the balls rolling.
3. In the hope that this thread can be of some use for someone else and to show people how people starting from literally zero.

After some reading, I have decided to try out niche blog first with pinterest method, which is basically follow a lot of people, post some image on your products, and put affiliates product on my site. After a little bit of brainstorming I have come to three options:

cubiclefashion- Based on the pinterest thread. Women fashion seems to be the most profitable, I decided on working with women products. I choose the name because white tie worker image is always with cubicle office work. The 。COM domain name is also free so I can get a good start with it.

sophiabigworld - Same as above, but the different is this is for baby products. Baby fashion and toys is actually a big industry especially on young women community. I realize this from my aunt when she tells me how her peers often browsing for baby merchandise.

robotinthehouse - This is inspired from a funny red it thread on why roomba + dog poop + carpet = really bad idea.

Anyway, I'm going to read a little bit for now, next post will be about creating the paypal, affiliates, and buying the domain names. I probably only pick one first. Wish me luck.

good luck OP, the 1st steps are always the hardest!

Yeah, I still felt that I'm in the dark now despites all those threads. Anyway, I finally decided on robotinthehouse which will focus on household robotics. I'm planning to cover from products review, funny story, and tech news on the content and use . I bought the name in namecheap for $10 and the host in hosterbox for $4. I've read in somewhere that it is generally a good idea to not buying hosting and domain in the same place. I also chose both of them because they accept bitcoin, which is something I have a fraction of it and really regret not jumping in it in the first place but finally decided to use it anyway instead let them rot in my wallet.

The process is surprisingly easy and fast. All I need to do is start working in it. But first, I need to register on affiliates sites and paypal. Amazon registration is also easy, paypal however require credit card to be verified. Since I do not have any credit card yet I'll try to verify it using bank account. Next step will be on filling the content and tweaking the site a little bit.

Overall Expense:
Domain - $10.69
Hosting - $3.95
Total: $14.64

I know this sucks to hear now, but there is a $1.99 GoDaddy .com coupon floating around on this forum somewhere. Anyways keep it in mind for your next domains.

Good luck on your journey. I am going to start mine today swell, hopeful we can follow each other and compare results.

Really, which sub-forum get that? I definitely try to search it for my next web. Perhaps it's not a bad idea to start 2 or 3 sites simultaniously. Anyway thanks for the info dude, I really appreciate it.

Hello Op,

I only use amazon for now, but I'm willing to try other affiliates site. For now I might focus on filling it with content for 1-2 days tops.

Good luck OP wish you a great progress :)

household robotics is an interesting with great potential.

Yeah, I also like robotic stuff so I know 1-2 bits about them.

On topic, the first thing I know about writing an article is I don't know how to write an article. I have a clear idea what to write and I have the source ready but words just can't come out. Is there any threads that can give pointer on writing good articles. I've checked out some threads in blogging and copy writing sub forum and still didn't have a clear view on how to write niche site article. For now I guess I just write some stuff within my capability first and just hoping that experience will take care of my next writing.

Anyway, I have compile a list of post that I will put on my blog though:
- Welcome to Robot in the House
- Why do we need domestic robotics?
- What makes a robot 'robot'?
- 7 things you need to know before having a roomba
- The past, the present, and the future of domestic robots
- 5 type of domestic robot you can buy right now
- We are at the dawn of robotic age

Oh well, time to go back to writing.

Good luck and interesting niche.. I have a roomba and use it like twice a day...

robots.png It's been days since last update and I finally able to post some progress in my blog and change the theme. It really is hard to write without any prior experience in writing blog post. Writers block really hinder progress and trying to push it really hit the quality. But for now because I really need some content I will try to push some first and hopes I can fill some high quality content later on. Oh well, I think this is because I'm just starting out.

On the other hand, it appears that I do post this in wrong subforum, should I continue posting here or make a new thread there?
