You traffic is not much and it's around 2k a month. Still you managed to get 100$ a month even after google update? I am using adsense and getting 2$ a month with more traffic.
Yep, I still have keywords on the 1-3 spots so I'm still getting some commissions. Plus, I know a bit about CRO so I'm still converting despite the low traffic numbers.

From what I know you can't compare adsense to Amazon associates - you'll definitely need more traffic than Amazon associates.

Thats really great. Can you give a rough idea? I am switching to amazon and want to know that how much time it will take to get 100-200$ a month. I will use long tail keywords with avg 1-2k volume monthly and KD under 25. Also how many articles do we need and I will buy back links for scaling to rank more competitive keywords.
Thanks alot.

It depends on a lot of factors.
  • Are you going to use an auctioned domain or a brand new domain? If you use an auctioned domain as foundation you can build up your site quickly, skip sandbox and all that shit.
  • How much content can you publish per month? More content per month, means more available keywords to rank for.
  • Budget?
In my case I used an auctioned domain so I ranked pretty quickly and I also published about 20-30K words in the first month. For links, I used anywhere between 5 and 15 PBN links per month. It took me about 4-5 months before I got my first $100. Once you hit the $100 mark, it's easier to get to your first $500 because it's basically repeating what you did earlier.

Thanks alot. I got a very good auction domain but won that at a price of 400$. Yet to pay them to get the domain. It has really great back links and history. If considering the investment, I am not sure if it's worth of. Like if I will invest in brand new domain and then back link creation and time it needed to rank may be worth of. I think if I won't pay this week, it will go back to auction.

Brand new domains are your safest bet because it's squeaky clean, you're only going to take a bit longer to rank because you have to build it's authority and skip the sandbox (if you got into it).

Auctioned domains gives you a good headstart, but there's still a risk involved with it. A few months back, we built an Amazon niche site on top of a squeaky clean domain - awesome backlinks from well-known sites, clean history - the whole 9 yards. When it was linked to search console, a manual penalty showed up. Why? We don't know. Must have slipped past our filters or something. That happens 1 out of 100 times though.

Another example - I bought 2 expired domains, both have pretty similar backlinks (they're in the same niche and are both well-known websites in the past). After testing, oie domain increases rankings by 10 spots, the other one does not affect rankings at all.

What I'm trying to say here is spending $400 on an auctioned domain still carries some risk. If you're 100% sure that domain is going to be a net positive for your project, go ahead. If you like to play it safe, stick to a brand new domain and spend $200 on content and the rest on links.

What are the primary reasons behind that algo hit? If possible, please let us know about the link building techniques you applied for the site. Is there any issues with contents? Btw,wish you good luck! :)

Thanks. Your are right. Better to use new domain and spend on content. One last question. Do you recommend to use a niche and select 4-5 products with 10-20 articles a month or just stick with one product with 1 site. How many articles is good per product considering 1000 words per articles? Thanks for your help..

Nothing definitive yet, since we're still diagnosing the site, but from the looks of it a lot of on-page factors and bad links we acquired over the past year (image hotlinks for example). Our plan of attack is basically just improve the overall state of the site. There is no problem with the content as far as I know - I oversaw the entire content creation process and I think I got it right, but we'll see.

Link building techniques - nothing too fancy. PBN links with the correct anchor text ratio. That's it.

Thanks dude. I've watched a ton already, but I recently finished that story about a time traveler.lol I forgot the title. Something wife?

Look what i am earning http://prntscr.com/l03jch lol, still wondering how his traffic is converting so good.

It's not as much as converting, my commission per sale are pretty high as well. I get about $10+ per sale. Goes to show how important it is to choose high ticket items.

UPDATE #3

I finally finalized a JV with a previous client. This dude's great at technical SEO so I know the site is in good hands. No agreement on paper just yet but basically we do a 50/50 profit split and then either flip the site for a 6-figure exit in 2019 (4th quarter) or decide to keep it and build new properties off the profits.

As I said on my last update, the man's on vacation until October 17th so it's a loooong waiting game for me.

Also, there's some rumors going around that another algo update is happening. You can see on accuranker that there's massive changes on SERPs:

A few facebook groups I'm in have been discussing these too.

Fortunately I came out better:

Hoping I finally get my penalty lifted!

It's adsense report. Right? I am also doing adsense and they are paying pennies. But look at the post carefully. It's amazon not adsense.
