[Journey] Ranking an Amazon Affiliate Site for $300

A few months ago, I ranked a CPA site in the gaming niche for less than 100 bucks. I didn't make any money on that site because I had a content locker and nobody was really filling out the the surveys to get their downloads.

That site is still on page one at #9 for the main keyword and #11 for the secondary keyword . I haven't built any additional links and the rankings are stable.

It's now time for another journey. This time, an Amazon Affiliate site.

I'm pretty sure I can manage to rank it for under $200 but I've set the goal to $300 so I have some wiggle room in case I need to buy a few more links. I should be on page 1 in 3-4 months from now.

Besides hosting, I won't be using any of my existing resources so it'll be easier to keep track of the costs. Everything will be outsourced.

Although I generally do my own keyword research, I decided to buy a keyword for this journey. I just bought a keyword from @hacko who's just launched his new service. TAT is 5 days so I should be getting the keyword next week.

For PBN links, I'll be using @tiiberius who has an amazing network. I reached page 1 for another affiliate site with just 4 links.

As always, I'll be getting a domain from @Nargil so I don't have to pay for diversity, deal with spam, check back links and all that bullshit.

Once everything is set up, it's all about waiting so I won't be updating the thread frequently. I'll update the thread whenever there are significant ranking changes.

I won't be posting any earnings or any income screenshots or anything of the sort. The goal of this journey is to rank an Amazon affiliate site to page 1 for under $300. I'm pretty confident I can achieve it.

Good lucky mate, I will keep an eye on this.. looks interesting. Is the expense of hosting, and buying domain included in your $300 budget?
What sort of Keyword competition you looking at? Ranking for $300 would be impressive

Everything except the hosting is included. I already have hosting. The price of the domain and the registration is included.

Ranking for $300 isn't hard. I've done it several times. Finding an easy keyword is the hard part.

As far as the keyword competition goes, I don't use or rely on any tools and I'm sure neither does @hacko which is why I'm using his service in the first place.

The keyword competition tools are total bullshit and the scores are meaningless. If anybody with a 10$ subsicripton to KWFinder could find easy keywords, everybody would be on page 1.

I agree about kwfinder, I don't really use it myself, I didn't mean KC in terms of their metric, just in your own opinion?

I wish you luck , I've been able to achieve moderate success with amazon affiliate and I was in the neighborhood of $280 said & done

I'll let you know once I get the keyword. I haven't really seen the keyword yet. I just bought it an hour ago. When I look at page 1 one, I'll know whether it's doable or not.

UPDATE

Keyword:

I got my keyword report a couple of days ago from @hacko. The main keyword has a monthly search volume of 880 and the remaining keywords add up to over 3000MS. For now, I'm only going to focus on the main keyword. I'll work on the remaining keywords after the main keyword is on page 1. On indexing, the keyword is already at #44 without any content.

Overall, it's a great value for $35. Nobody is going to sell low competition keywords with high volumes at this price.

Domain:

I couldn't find a suitable domain that would fit this niche through Nargil so I had to scrape it myself. The domain I found is not too strong because it mostly has forum and comment links but it has a lot of diversity so I can make it work.

I'll be ordering content and setting up the site over the next few days.

UPDATE

I got the content a couple of days ago. There was an error in the content so I've asked for a revision. Once the content is fixed, I'll buy some PBN links.

I bought 2 additional domains for a double 301 redirect. One niche relevant expired domain with links and one brand new domain as a buffer. I also bought some social signals. I managed to find a lot of content on Wayback so I now have thousands of words of content on the site about the general niche. I managed to find some great buying guides and product review articles too. If you're too lazy to scrape, @littlewebdragon has an awesome service and he'll find you content on any niche you like.

So far, here's what I've spent.

Keyword: 35
Main Domain (Expired): 10
2 Domains for the 301: 12
Social Signals: 14
Main Product Review Article: 15

The main keyword is on page 3 now so I shouldn't need too many PBN links.
