First off, I would like to introduce myself as I have not spent much time posting around here on BHW. I have been lurking and a frequent reader of these forums, however. I have spent most of my time on the hack forums, though I feel that I am more engaged with the users here on BHW so I will be spending more time on here.

That said, I have been doing PPD for about a year and a half now (started january 2013). I am a college student and I spent my entire winter break in January of 2013 attempting and failing to make money online through means of PPD. After a few weeks of agonizing work I was about to give up, then I started to see a steady stream of $4, $5/day which gave me enough motivation to keep moving on. After a month or so, I was banking HARD! I couldn't believe it, I was making more than I had ever thought I would be. That said, I was satisfied with my earnings at the time and I put very minimal effort into my websites and gaining traffic all the way up to now. At this time, I regret not maintaining my IM because now I am only making ~$10/day where as I was making $150/day at one point. Living on my own for the last year or so hasn't been so difficult because of the steady income I was making. Things today are a little different and I have to watch my spendings VERY closely, add on bills for my house, PG&E and food, etc.. and my earnings that I had accumulated over the last year are beginning to vanish..

I have actually started this thread as a way to motivate myself to continue earning and working on my IM experience. I wanted a way to dialogue my earnings and hopefully this can motivate some others to start earning themselves. I don't even care if I get responses or not as this is more for me to keep motivated..

With all that said, I will get more into the technical side of things in future posts.

Below I have attached a picture of my overall fileice earnings to this point: started January 2013.

    Thanks for reading,
    FJ

Update with my total earnings for today (I intend to post my earnings for each day). Earnings today are non-existant as Fileice servers were down all day therefore no money to show to this point.

That's cool bro, I'm also in this because of my college expenses. I'm starting my freshman year in a couple weeks.
Hope to see updates and more details from you! Keep motivated

Write about how do you make your bucks.

I'm in Adsense, PPS and CB, but I want to start with PPD, and I really do not know where to start.

Just some tips for start-up, do you work with your site, YT or spamming, I understand everything so you could say it in few words.

    Thanks and Cheers. :)

Good luck with your journey. So what's the minimum you're aiming for to feel confident?

    Thanks for the replies....

I am aiming to get back around $5,000/month. The reason I chose that amount is because after you have had success and made a certain amount (per month) it's difficult to settle with anything less. But at this point, right now, I'd be happy to be bringing in 1k/month.

I should also note that I will be starting affiliate marketing which will in some ways be tied in with my ppd.

    Thanks,
    FJ

Good luck bro, i'm not in the PPD game but I know exactly where you're coming from. I'm also a college student and I've been using IM to support myself for about a year now. There have been times where I was banking hard and kind of got lazy but when push comes to shove I usually make more than enough to survive. Definitely going to be watching your journey :)

    Thanks for the replies guys..

As far as gaining traffic, I used to spend most of my efforts on youtube but that is now a joke (compared to what it used to be), but it can still work depends on your niche. Some niche's can still do well on youtube.
I spend most my time trying to convert traffic from social media sites now, though it has not been too good to this point I must say.

I had been using youtube for the last 1.5 years but have now switched over to primarily social media.

It's been a rough last couple of days not in regards to my earnings (which have actually been quite good) but my MBA's solid state drive suddenly decided to crash so I had to turn it in for repair. Went out and bought a PC laptop though which will work meanwhile (also needed it to run windows programs for other IM methods) so it will come in handy.

Earnings today are a little bit better than they have been. For those who want to know what I am doing I will give a little bit of advice for getting people to convert ppd via youtube...

    1. Never post a video and put a link straight to your ppd, these don't convert well / aren't worth the time.
    2. Instead, use a landing page (unique domain to your niche) and put a content blocker in front of what they want. I use surveys.
    3. Generally, what you want to do is get the user (that is visiting your landing page via youtube) as close to the prize as possible. There are many ways in which to do this, be creative and it isn't hard to do.
    4. Show that whatever you are promoting will work in your youtube video, use voice over. PROOF is everything even if whatever you are promoting doesn't actually work (blackhat though like generators, I try to stay away from these).
    5. If you want to increase earnings, create a ppd maze so that when they finish one survey, send them to another, etc... Hopefully you give them what they want at the end but that is completely up to you.

These are just some very general tips on PPD through youtube that I have gathered over the last few years, hopefully some of you can put them to use.

    Here are todays earnings..

Earnings are looking like they are steadily increasing which is good.

    Here's another tip for ppd...
You don't need to be promoting a download with PPD, though, PPD = Pay Per Download.... What I'm trying to say is that all the "victim" knows is that they need to do a survey to get what they want. They don't need to know that it's a download behind the survey, you can promise them whatever (granted they will be surprised when they finish the survey and find they are downloading something). Use this to your advantage and be creative you will easily find ways to manipulate your audience. Can be blackhat, or whitehat just depends on what you are promoting and if you actually follow through with giving them what you promised.
I hope this makes sense, it's difficult to describe what I am saying in a comprehendable fashion.

    Below are todays earnings.

To clarify on what I was saying above here is an example (though not realistic).

    1. On your website, offer a free iphone if they click "here".
    2. When they click "here" they are prompted a survey
    3. You can customize the widget to say whatever you want so say something along the lines of: "finish an offer below and receive your free iphone"
    4. They finish survey, you can decide to give them free iphone or not.

I hope that explains what I was trying to say a little bit better. You just have to be creative.

    Hi flyjumper,

Thank you so much for posting your journey so far. Seems like you have things under control!
This is my first post, but I've been lurking around the PPD and CPA-related threads almost non-stop this week.
I'm also a college student (3rd-year business major), and I've been trying for months to make some money online. No luck yet, but I've learned a whole lot.

I have a question if you, or anyone else here can answer it for me? Would be greatly appreciated.

-What I'm not understanding about PPD is how you set up a content blocker, and how you upload or post this on a webpage. I have a few things in mind, in a few different niches that I plan to use, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to go from grabbing content, to having a completed file, to promoting the offer. I've been looking around for help with file uploading and adding surveys, but I can't find much that's helpful for me at this stage.
I was just accepted to CleanFiles earlier today. I'm waiting to hear back from FileIce.
Could anyone possibly give me some info or refer me to a thread that can help me set things up- I'm not interested in being spoon-fed, I'd just like to know a bit more about how people get their PPD systems off the ground.

Thanks again for posting, FJ! I've subbed and I look forward to hearing more from you!

Hey there bud, to be honest, I'm not here on BHW to guide/teach people how to make money or set up their websites. If you are having trouble setting up a content blocker, then you are going to have a difficult time with a lot of stuff with regards to IM. I am not trying to discourage you in any way, I'm just saying that I'm not the one to talk to if you want to learn how to set these things up.
The best advice I can give to you is to keep sifting through these forums and watch videos on youtube (there are practically guides for everything on there).

Hope you understand where I am coming from and I wish you the best of luck with your IM journey.

    FJ
