A few months ago, I started reading and learning about Programmatic SEO. I find it pretty interesting and not many people on BHW are talking about it. So here's my journey thread about pSEO.

For this journey, I'm going to set up 5-6 sites in different niches.

Site 1: I started Site 1 on the 1st of November on a fresh domain. It has around 100K pages in total. I've set it up to publish all ~100K posts over 2 years. Although it took me a few hours to set it up, the plugin I use took 3 days to generate all the pages. The biggest challenge with this site is the speed. The database is bloated so the server response time is pathetic. Although it's indexing well right now, I expect some problems with indexing in the future because of the speed.

Site 2: Site 2 is in a similar niche to Site 1. Site 2 has around 400 posts in total set to publish over the next few months. It went live yesterday.

Site 3: Site 3 is a site that should have around 35K posts. It should be ready next week. I'll set WP to publish the posts over the next 2 years.

Site 4: Site 4 is not ready. I have the data ready. The site will have around 1000 posts.

I'll update the thread with additional sites as and when I start them.

It's super easy to set up a pSEO site. It doesn't take more than a couple of hours once the data is ready. There's no keyword research required because you target every keyword.

All you need is a dataset. You can either use and existing one, scrape your own or hire someone to make one for you. A couple of good sources for data are Github and Kaggle. However, I recommend that you build your own dataset or find a way to leverage existing data to present it in a unique way.

Once you have the database, you need basic text to use the data in sentences. I use sentence level spintax for the content. It reads quite well.

To generate the posts/pages, I use Page Generator Pro. It's available in Festinger's vault. You can also use WP All Import or a python script to generate the content for you.

That's it! It's super easy to get started. All you need is a domain and hosting.

Good luck with your journey. I have some questions, hope you can answer them:
1. Where do you learn about Programmatic SEO?
2. What plugin do you use to generate content in Site 1? Is this duplicated content?
3. How many articles did you upload to the sites before you added them to GSC?
4. Where do you get a database of basic text sentences so you can add your keywords to them? Did you scrape them?

I’ll do my best.

1. Just through blogs, YouTube etc. There are a lot of resources.
2. It’s called Page Generator Pro. You can also use WP All Import. In essence, yes it’s duplicate content. But I use sentence level spinning so all the content is unique. The data from each field in the database is also unique.
3. The entire site with all the pages. The plug-in has an option to schedule the posts which I used to spread out the publishing.
4. I don’t think you can find a database like that. You have to create that part of the content yourself. The content you’ll use depends on your specific data and keywords.

So, what's the goal here, traffic and monetisation through ads?

Good luck!

I’m not sure if I’ll use ads on all of them. Site #4 should be perfect for ads.

If site #2 takes off, I’m pretty sure that a few apps would be willing to buy it.

I’ll probably try some affiliate/CPA offers for the others.

How many words are your posts and are they unique?

I’d say 500-1000 words depending on the site.

Most of the content is generated using sentence level spintax. Some paragraphs within the content use paragraph level spintax.

But the content reads quite well and it’s not like the trash spun content that people use on Web 2.0s.

Most sentences also have some unique data from the database.

I've been working with programmatic SEO for a while now; unfortunately, the latest google update targets this directly. I can see it clear as day in my GSC that from the 19 of October onwards the indexing of pages almost stopped and in some cases, the number of indexed pages decreased. I'm still figuring out how to avoid this but I'd advise you to be extra careful with programmatic SEO right now

Thanks a lot for the heads up. I’ll keep an eye out for indexing issues. I expect site 1 to have indexing issues for sure. lol.

Are you targeting question-answer type niche/kws or blog post type kws?
