Hello,

First of all let me tell you a bit about myself. I am an engineering student. I have a few problems in my life and it can be solved with money. Which is why I am starting an amazon affiliate website.

You read the title right. My first milestone will be reached when I make $10 a day from my website. I am not setting up targets that are really huge and can overwhelm me.

My ultimate goal with this website is to sell it to someone later for a profit.

I am sorry for the long introduction.

Let's get started.

I chose coffee maker niche. It is under "Kitchen" product category. The commission rate is 4.5%.

My website's name is (I didn't name it as I think it might be against policy).

What am I using?

I have a licensed WP-Toolkit. So, I have access to premium plugins like Yoast (for SEO), themes from Genesis, etc.

I am using the "eleven40 Pro" theme from Genesis also the Genesis framework.

Hosting on BlueHost Cloud hosting. (When I earn enough money I will move)

My Strategy

I have been doing a course I bought on Udemy to learn how to build Amazon Affiliate site.

The course instructor is also a successful affiliate marketer and the course is also a bestselling course.

I know many people hates Udemy for courses. But I had to start somewhere. I cannot just start blindly.

The articles for the blog will be written by me. And they will be posted on pages not posts. I don't know why. But the instructor said that pages tend to be relevant for a longer time than posts.

My first target is to write long articles of 2000+ words on a low competition long tail keywords. And get them to rank high on Google. Because I know I cannot afford to buy relevant backlinks from pages or posts that rank high on Google.

I will then link the low competitive keyword ranking pages to the main page that I wanna rank.

I will apply for Amazon Affiliate account when I have enough traffic to me website that can convert. Or else it will be of no use. As I won't be able to make any sale within their limited time. And might even get rejected later.

My target market is USA.

Tools that I am using for SEO:

I am using Ubersuggest (for volume, competition, etc. data) and Keywordtool(dot)io (for long tail eywords)

I am just starting out my first siloed affiliate site. Please wish me luck guys.

If there is anything wrong with my strategy, please let me know.

I really do need your help. If you also want to suggest any improvement I am open to suggestions. You can even message me too.

Thanks a lot for taking your time to read my post.

Please leave a reply if you have any suggestions.

Good luck buddy. A great thing that you didn't share the website name as it may never know if someone starts copying it or worse.

Wow, that is awesome. Maybe we can share what we learn and help each other. Best of luck man.

I am really confused about the silos to be honest. I don't know how to structure the silos well. I need to structure my silo according to my keyword.

Yeah, well I already wrote my plan on thread mate.

I will have to figure things out along the way. Because I don't know how this will go.

Thanks a lot for replying to this thread.

Sounds like a good plan. It's useful that you have the whole thing covered before you start, so if there are any flaws, it's easier to spot them beforehand. I've usually just started doing stuff when I get a general idea of what I'm going to do.

Let's say I want to make an Amazon affliate site. I buy a domain (e.g. "bestwirelessheadphones.com"), setup a site for my niche and apply for an Amazon account. Then I realize I'm aiming at keywords that are too difficult for me. Of course I could eventually rank on my keywords like "best wireless headphones", but it would be highly unlikely without any earlier experience. I could keep trying for 6 months and realize I will never get any visitors due to high competition. "Best wireless headphones" are searched 135,000 per month.

Instead I should've chosen something like "best vlogging camera with flip screen". It yields 1,600 searches per month. I don't think you mentioned your exact keywords, but "best coffee maker" yields 60,500 searches per month. I'm not saying it's impossible to get on the first page with that keyword, but it's unlikely as hell. You probably already knew this, but remember to aim at keywords with reasonably low volumes. I would say between 500 - 100. E.g. "coffee maker single serve reviews" gets 880 searches per month.

In conclusion, choose keywords with low enough volume. And don't give up. It's not easy work. However, it is only a matter of time before you succeed and reach $10 a day.
