Hey all, I've been a member here for quite a few years now and have been reading and reading. I've also been in the entertainment industry for many years and I'm currently managing a network of sites that bring in heavy traffic, although I haven't done this on my own so the money is sparse. This time, I am going solo for this mission, and it's to make the best resource for lifestyle news and earn £100 per day doing it. I am not a guru with all the bots, PPD, porn sites and all that shiznip, I am just an old fashioned blogger that likes great looking content. So I am not doing anything fancy, as you'll see! This is the first website I have ever built on my own using a Wordpress template, adding plug-ins and a hero banner at the top so I am pretty chuffed with it. I started back in October, and fell off the wagon shortly after, so I hope this journey will push me further to make this the big one. And it would be great to hear your thoughts on what I am doing. Here is the lowdown: Process: Keeping it real simple. Post 20-70 New Articles Per Day Share On Twitter using the relevant Twitter Handle That's it! Costs so far: Website Design £0 Hosting £14.97 Set-up Fee £9.99 Domain £10.99 VAT £7.19 Hosting Renewal £4.99 VAT £1 Total: £49.13 Here are the current statistics for the site that I am keeping track of: December 2013 Stats: Alexa (Global) Alexa (UK) Facebook Twitter News Pieces October 23/10/2013 670057 9593 3 5680 500 November 1/11/2013 445533 5836 3 5711 900 December 1/12/2013 262410 11722 3 5640 1134 As you can see I already have a bunch of targeted followers on Twitter from an old account, so that has come in handy. I haven't done anything to the Facebook, just set it up, pimped the hero banner and added a nice description. I've also got a Facebook button on the page incase anyone wants to like it, at the moment though, I am not worrying with it as from what I can see, without paying a fortune and promoting your posts, you aint gonna get anywhere with Facebook. Also you'll notice that the Alexa in the UK dropped quite nicely at the start, but as I mentioned, I lost my mojo just after November. Google Analytics: As you can see the views are pretty pants at the moment, with most of my traffic coming from Twitter. Earnings To Date (09 December 2013): Adverts: I just set up a GoViral video embed to circulate through the campaigns and earn a little extra, I set this up earlier today (around 3pm ish) so as you can see I've had pretty much nothing come in: Earnings Effective CPM Payment Per View Payable Views Total Views Impressions CTP PtE% 0.27 EUR (approx 0.22 GBP) 2.2845 EUR (approx 1.932 GBP) 0.0265 EUR (approx 0.0224 GBP) 10 10 116 0.0862 0 Paid Editorials For Different Ad Networks: Luckily I have my connections from working on the other networks so getting paid editorials was easy, even for a new site.
