[Journey] Is dropshipping still profitable in 2022?

Good luck. Dropshipping sure can be profitable. I have wanted to start store or page for a long time now. There are so many products and places where dropshipping can be done. But i'm hesitant to start because of delivery times and i would like to have custom package that wont show where its coming originally.

hi, quick question, regarding working with a shipping agent,
for each sale, you send the item to your shipping agent and they handle the shipping to the US or any other country? how much % increase the price?

No, not for each sale. I send them a picture of the item once after listing it on my website. We assign unique SKU to each of the variants. When the item gets ordered I just supply the agent with the SKU and the address where it's supposed to be shipped.

They're able to ship to virtually every country. I however ship only to the US. Packages get delivered in about 12 days and the customer never knows it arrived from China!

What I did so far

1) Store 1

- Bought domain and Shopify plan
- Created the store
- Added 1 product (A product I saw on Tiktok)
- Created social media pages. (Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, youtube, and Pinterest)
- Everything is set up except videos.

2) Store 2

- Created a logo and social media

Total spent - 44$ (domain + plan for store 1)
Profit - -44$

Marketing strategy
Week 1 - free organic source from TikTok and Instagram reels
Week 2 - Influencer shout out
Week 3 - Ads

I will update my progress frequently.
P.S. - I will be working only 3 - 4 hours a day in this store.

Conclusion

I tried TikTok ads, social media, and other promotional methods but failed to make sales. I was able to get decent traffic from my ads but no conversion. People, in general, started to understand how dropshipping works. They know their package is going to be delivered from China.

As of my observation, dropshipping is no longer profitable as of 2019s.

I don't mean to say the drop shipping business, in general, is a bad idea: eBay or Amazon dropshipping is profitable for example. But you need to order in bulk and have the products in hand. That way people can order comfortably from their favorite shopping site.

Well, I spent around 300$ on ads with no return. I know I should spend more to get a decent result and test different ad sets, but I didn't feel like it will end up in positive ROI. So I call it a day.
