[Journey] Growing a niche website from scratch with Pinterest as a main traffic source. [Goal: 10m+ monthly Pinterest views]

Okay, so here is something very strange that I observed today. I was checking my Pinterest analytics, and as I shared earlier, I concluded that my best days are usually Saturday and Sunday.

Naturally, I'm expecting a drop on Monday. However, I didn't anticipate that some of my top-performing pins on Sunday would completely die down to double-digit impressions on Monday.

More importantly, those were pins from multiple posts. It feels like some sort of partial shadow ban, but the question is, why? Those pins were getting a healthy number of natural saves. They also had a very good 3-4% CTR. Why you do this, Pinterest algo?

Is it only a few pins or all of them that dropped more than expected? No seasonality? Yesterday was tax day in the US (I think?) so if your audience run their own business maybe they don't have time to scroll Pinterest

Only a few dropped, but there was a noticeable decline in clicks. One of the posts had 4-5 pins that brought in over 150 clicks combined on Sunday, and now it's at 0. That topic is trending right now, so it should, in theory, be getting even more traffic. It is definitely an algo shuffle.

Just a bit of motivation for you guys, this is the same new account that I made a screenshot of before. Hence At this level of audience, I start to see follower growth (yet if you do slow and "high" quality pins that are highly targeted you will start getting followers much sooner than you reach 140k audience).

It looks like I'm not the only one experiencing this algorithm update.

I'm not going to lie; I feel a little bit demotivated, not because of this particular setback but when looking back at the bigger picture. I still have to remind myself that I'm replacing one algorithm with another. Remember what I wrote in my opening post?
I know that Pinterest also has algo updates, bans, etc., but I'm willing to take the risk and go all in here.
Yeah...Well, the fact is that all these companies can take everything away from us in an instant.

All my scheduled Pins for today have tanked.......done nothing different, if anything the quality of my Pins has been improving since I started......

These f**king Algorithm updates on whatever platform really do suck......

Yep, these algo updates suck indeed. There is nothing we can do about it. They make no sense, too. I'm getting saves and a great CTR, but apparently, their stupid algorithm doesn't like it for whatever X reason, lol.
from which site is those stats? Googly analytics?
That's from my Google search site. Have you ever worked with Google Analytics or Google Search Console? I mean, what kind of absurd question is that? It's obviously a GSC screenshot.

I broke the 1k clicks barrier for the last 24 hours!

There is still no news from MV, which is disappointing because I'm getting to the traffic levels where I can make some actual $$$ and not peanuts.

Great progression. What happened after the last update where you said you top pins dropped? Did they recover?

None of the pins that dropped came back. I don't know what to think of this. I posted a few similar pins to the ones that dropped for the same topic, and 1 of them is already getting 2k+ impressions daily. Their algo makes no sense.

Encouraging progress. Very inspirational. Keep posting your updates to give me hope that there is a chance for success beyond Google wielding the axe for no fathomable reason on websites where we invest so much blood, sweat, and tears.

Nice progress man, keep it up! You made me think about a method where I automate the whole process. Question for you, do you think that the whole process can be automated? I mean from the pic generation to pinning. Also, how many times do you pin per day?

I'm not sure if everything can be automated. My workflow certainly can't because Midjourney doesn't have an official API.

@wishme is the master of bulk pinning with 200 pins a day from RSS feeds.

There are SaaS products like Pin Generator that claim they can automate pretty much everything.

I'm going to stick to my method of doing most of the work manually, at least for this account.

I've decreased the amount of pins per day to 10-15 max with some days off. At the moment, I'm pinning only image+text overlay pins made in Canva with custom templates.

I'm doing something similar to this:

Nice journey. You are doing great.

I am currently stuck at about 50 outbound clicks a day. And this is coming from just 3 pins out of hundreds. It is very depressing.

Quick question, how long does it take before your new pins start getting impressions and clicks?
