[Journey] Growing a niche website from scratch with Pinterest as a main traffic source. [Goal: 10m+ monthly Pinterest views]

Afaik pinterest doesn't do that (like google, ig, tt), just slow and steady growth. But let's see, who knows, maybe they will change their algo to copy tiktok like so many other apps do.
My recent venture, spray and pray 200 pins per day.

I don't know how easy it is to inspect element such a screenshot, but it looks pretty legit to me.

as long as it's not the same image and same link I see no issues.
Yeah, that makes sense. I don't have the volume for that, though.
Depends on how fast you want to grow according to your effort for the pins, more effort means fewer pins but higher engagement potential, but with the mass posting you care less about quality and just hope that some will pop off and they do more than none.
The age-old debate - quantity vs quality. Well, I'm going for quality as I can't do quantity at the moment. :D

We use generated images, but not AI, we do 200, URLs are all different though. Tbh it's not aggressive to go for 200 per day if they allow themselves to take that amount from your feed, as long as it's not the same image and same link I see no issues.
Where you host the images?

By this, do you mean you use a script to create pins based on templates and the images in the post? Or what does "generated but not AI" mean?

Good luck with your journey, mate. Yes, we can't rely on Google anymore. We need to consider other platforms for traffic.

Just started a site on "motivational" niche . Prime objective to get traffic from Pinterest. Currently warming up my account. Reading your journey is a good hope for me as I also want to join Media vine some day !
Good luck and keep posting !

I'm not really a blogger, but we do use AI to help with some of the content creation. Basically, we generate images with a script that uses set templates, and then we add text to those images.

Good for you. Looking at this and other journeys, it seems there will most likely be a snowball effect, so don't stop posting until you reach your goals. I'm going to give it a shot as well. Done some research and there's a lot of auto blogs that seem to get huge amounts of traffic from Pinterest, more than they would probably ever get from other sources.

I just can't believe you're seeing this kind of growth on a 3 month old website, your latest update with 699 daily outbound clicks is more than I ever had on most of my affiliate sites and they've been running for years.

If you look at, say last 7 days, are they similar in outbound clicks or is it a big spread? I mean, some day 600+ and another day 200, or what does it look like from day to day?

Do you know at all how the site is doing on Google? How many keywords you're ranking for or what positions you have in the SERPs? Or the traffic coming from Google at the moment? Would also be interesting to see if growing on Pinterest has any correlation with organic backlinks to your site.

This chart looks unreal. Was he getting a few hundred clicks per day for the entire month and then all of a sudden one day with 4.5k clicks? Absolutely crazy if that's not an edited picture.

I'm building a test site now and will try some listicle type content to promote on Pinterest. Just trying to figure out all the ways to automate the process before launching. Would you suggest I start with 20 daily pins and slowly work my way up to 50+? Or should I start as low as 5-10 daily?

Usually, the weekends are the best for me. It's a steady graph; once I get onto another level of traffic, I maintain it throughout the week if that makes any sense. :D

Currently, the site is getting about ~10 clicks a day from Google. There is still no sign of Google Discovery traffic, either. I doubt I'll get any solid backlinks from Pinterest, if I have to be honest.

It looks like even less than a hundred a day. He probably got lucky with a few pins on something trendy.

Go as slow as you can for the first 2-3 weeks. I went with 10-15 pins a day on my other account from the start, and I'm pretty sure it got shadow-banned. Of course, it could be a coincidence, but I would not risk it on my future accounts.

Thanks, I'll try to keep it low in the start. Have you tried paid ads on Pinterest for the shadow banned account? I actually saw an interview with Tony on Authority Hacker from a while back and he said he did exactly that and regained the traffic after being shadow banned. Maybe just a coincidence but might be worth a try at least.

That's actually a good idea. Thanks for that! I might try it out to see if I can revive it. I haven't pinned on it since it stopped getting impressions. That account is definitely on the back burner, though. I need to focus on the main one and grow it as much as possible.

Great journey!

I am doing something similar in the fashion niche, and focusing on Pinterest traffic.

Although, I don't have any good results so far, only get 10-20 outbound clicks per month. I am still trying to grow my Pinterest account and also post more blogs.

Good luck, to you, will be watching your journey!
