Hi Shaun,

Nice progress on the site so far. Just wanted to ask a couple of questions, sorry if they've already been asked before.

I know you have a blog network;

Do you use the typical BHW structure of building 1 main "money site" and several smaller sites?

How do you manage to juggle your sites, youtube and being active on here?

What made you decide to drop using Pinterest? I've seen a few sites on sale on flippa which primarily generate their traffic from there without any clickbait.

And lastly a cheeky one, if you decide to this sell site. Would you offer us BHW members a special deal or just selling it on a marketplace?

I basically build niche sites so once my keyword list is done the site is done and I move onto the next one. I wouldn't really say any of my current sites is my main money site though as I'm not currently growing any of them and just doing prep work for my domain for next year that will probably be my main project for a couple of years.

Its pretty easy to juggle all of my projects to be honest. I try to get three pieces of content out per day as my normal work load so when I do a YouTube video I just do two articles that day.

I am going to play around with Pinterest again for the domain next year but I think its too niche dependent and takes more work than most people think. I like the set and forget method of just publish articles and let Google do the rest.

The site already has two active buy offers from friends so I would sell it to them or a potential third who has no formal offer in yet but may be interested in buying it.

Yea its probably the biggest blogging project I have planned yet and I will be doing a journey thread on BHW for it too. I already have around 130 articles banked for the project ready to publish in January and I'm trying to add at least 2 per day myself and anything I can get from freelance writers. Keyword wise, I am still doing keyword research but it will probably have a few thousand articles on it once complete and take a few years to work through all of the keywords even with freelance writers helping.
Lot of activity on the thread, I almost didn't find your reply :).
Anyway, glad to read that and without a doubt you've gained enough experience over the years to move forward with such a big project.

Two more questions:
1. Will the big site be the typical hybrid model you're doing nowadays (Amazon + display ads), or (considering the number of articles) are you going for display ads only with this one?

2. I remember you talking a few times about trying a lifestyle of a digital nomad in 2022. Do you still consider that, or have you let go the idea for now?

Cheers mate :).

  1. It will be a hybrid between display ads and multiple affiliate programs as I'm trying to reduce the exposure to Amazon on it. Although eBay has always performed badly for me in my other niches, I think it might work in this one as some products are only on sites like eBay and Etsy. Theres a few things on Impact that I want to try with it as well but I think >50% of the income will be display ads.
  2. I am leaning more and more towards it again to be honest as it's the whole reason I started all of this. For 2022 I am thinking of using the UK as a base to go to other parts of Europe for short periods of time so I can try scale my 2022 project as fast as possible and then in 2023 try Asia because parts of Asia still aren't open properly after lockdowns yet.

What is your hosting provider? Do you host all the sites under the same account?

Brilliant video on the 20 min article Shaun.

How's the EPMV for your Ezoic site doing in November?

I recently upgraded to the next premium level and my EPMVS are around 32 this month.

I don't really understand all this levelling crap with Ezoic, it seems really silly to me and a waste of time.

My current EPMV is sitting at around $19.38 for this site for this month. I am thinking of increasing the placeholder count for the blog though to try cash in on the higher ad spend though. $32 is amazing, is that across all of your sites or just one that is higher than the rest? Have you used the new feature on the plugin to set your placeholders for you?

Yea Ezoic levels could have definitely been implemented better, I have lost count of the number of people I have had ask me what the point of it is now. I messaged one of the Ezoic staff about them putting the different rewards for each level on the actual dashboard though but if you don't want to claim the grants then its pointless in my opinion.

I think I have roughly the same placeholders as yourself. I don't use the wordpress plugin.

I only have one site with Ezoic but I found that writing commercial content works much better than answering random questions In terms of higher EPMVs.

You can still find commercial keywords that are low comp in my opinion.

Even if a product is out of stock on Amazon or doesn't convert well I can still use the AAWP images to break up the article which increases dwell time.

Its definitely noticeably to me that targeting commercial terms works much better in my niche.

yea 100%, its hard in the niche for this blog but I have found a decent chunk of keywords for my project for 2022 and onwards that are like this. Fingers crossed they pull a much higher EPMV but the blog I start next year will be aimed at higher volume keywords so I should be able to get it high enough to try and get onto Mediavine or Adthrive by the end of next year.

  • The black friday ad spend ram up looks like it stated last night so hoping for a week or so of that kind of ad spend on Ezoic.
  • Income is also up on Amazon slightly but the supply chains seems to be stretched and some of the items I promote are out of stock just before black friday.
  • The Google November Core Algorith Update is currently rolling out and its not looking like this site has been hit by it thankfully. The slight dip on the last few days is just articles dancing around in the top 3 of Google similar to a few weeks back. The rollout hasn't completed yet though so I could still end up getting hit.
Maybe you don't cache the info from the amazon API long enough, i have it set to the maximum value (1 week), if you set it for just 24 hours, that might be the reason for slowing down your website.

Looks like you hit the nail on the head mate, each day this week the % has been going up so it looks like it was just the AAWP cache timer >.<. Thanks for pointing it out, nice quick easy win :).

Its a decent push, you are doing absolutely fantastic. But how you build backlink? Do you point all your link to the homepage (i means main domain) or you make ir diversity like 80% on home page and 20% to inner page i means the content?

No links to home page, all to internal target pages that are medium to high comp keywords.
Following, best of luck!
Cheers mate.

I am struggling with speed scores at the moment specially LCP on mobile. The ezoic placeholders are setup using Ezoic wordpress plugin.
For your speed settings, you don't have any caching plugin right and just ticked all options inside Leap right?

I have script execution turned off as it screws with AAWPs cookie landing for Amazon redirects.

Are you using Divi or Elementor or anything like that? From the people who I have had reach out to me with page load speeds no matter the ad network, page builds have been the main issue.

Ok I will try to disable script execution also.

I am not using page builder, I m using Astra theme and Gutenberg. The only extra thing I use is the Ezoic video player to get better user metrics and extra income.

Are you showing ads in above the fold of the screen on mobile/desktop?
