After lurking in this forum for almost 2 years I think its about time I took some real action and actually stuck to something for once. You see, I've been trying to earn a living online since 2013 and I really haven't hit any of my goals - or even come close. I'm not here to lie or sell you dreams about how awesome I am or how amazing my journey online's been just so you follow. I'm simply creating this thread so I can take action, grow and help other's also in my shoes do the same. At the end of the day what really kills progress is jumping from one shiny object to the next before you've even given what you have a chance so for the next 365 days I will be applying myself fully on my project to achieve my dream.
Firstly, what I've done is clear my laptop of all reading material that cannot be applied directly to my current project and anything that might. Why? Well because I've noticed that as much as I may try focus on what I want to do, as long as my laptop as 50+gigs or information I'm not using, this really isn't possible. What happens is, when I get this stuff, I plan on applying it, so as a result it all piles onto my brain and it feels like I have more work to do than I actually do. I actually found this out when I moved all my courses to my hard drive to see how much space they took up and notices how much less pressure I had to 'get shit done'. Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me?
I also don't plan on getting any more information either - well unless it can be applied to my project directly. To make sure I don't slip back into bad habits, unless the method has to do with Facebook pages or viral websites, I won't even look at it. I will also allocate a time everyday for browsing the internet for more stuff to learn and going through it.... About 1 hour a day should be sufficient. This way I won't kill a whole day to look at stuff I probably am doing already.
Now for the journey. But just a side note, I do run a business that offers website design and social media management, gives me a flow of income so I can apply myself fully without just trying to make a buck. I currently don't have money to invest in this as of yet but if all goes well with my current prospect that should all change within a couple of weeks.
So, what I'm trying to do is to make $1000 a month through adsense and generate up to 50k fans before end of year. I will be using other ways to monetize but I will let you know as I apply them. I will be doing the following:
- publishing 3 posts daily from my new blog - 2 articles 1 video
- re-posting well engaged posts from relevant pages - at-least 2, making a total of 5
- post based on insight, according to what time people are online.
- Use 'Tag people who might like the content' type strategy for further growth - experiment with description area
- When I start getting constant traffic, add content locker - test share button and subscription
- Talk to a few big pages and see if they will share my content if I pay
- Currently I'm using a personal branded page to start and share my content as a blogger, but after my personal page reaches 10k, I will start focusing on the blogs page. I recently requested to change the name of my page but will see if they allow. My page currently has 6.2k follows atm.
Currently posting to facebook groups using an autoposter from 2 personal accounts. I do have other methods for driving traffic but I will be applying them 1 at a time. I don't want to mentally strain myself before I even begin as usual but instead I'm going to pick a traffic method, apply it, automate it as much as possible, create an action guide, then go on to the next. I don't want to think too far ahead, just need to know my goal, what I need to do now and the next step I should do get to where I want to be.
If you would like to share anything or feel anything I'm doing might work against me please don't hesitate to speak your mind, I would love to hear what you have to say about this.
