    Hey guys.
You will see my English is not my best suit, but I will do my best. So little about me: I'm 26 years old, I was working in a library as an IT, pretty boring job. Right now I will focus my time and efforts on Instagram. I am from Europe. Okay, that's enough.

Why I'm going to spend time updating a journey: because I like to talk about internet marketing with everyone who's willing to do it, it makes me feel happy. I know what the internet marketing has to offer. I will give you my tips and tricks, and I will explain why I do what I do, to make perfect sense. I see just too many "gurus" who actually don't understand the game fully and annoys me so much, because they are even selling that shit.

I have one account at the moment. I won't share the niche, but I can tell you it's a popular one. I will tell you how i get to 87k in 5 months. I will explain you the differences between follow/unfollow method and the paid method. You will learn my monetization methods I have used before and which one was the best. This is not my first account in the 100k range, but I was stupid enough to sell my first 100k account. Everyone do mistakes.

    Okay, lets start!

If you are a starter, you need to think about security and the future from now.

    - create brand new gmail account ( well the Russian people have hacked gmail lately, but still, gmail is the best option ). Remember that mail, make sure it won't match your IG username and do not save mail info on your computer. Just remember it. This is important, because in a future, if you plan to sell that account and someone scam you, you would get back that account, because you know the original mail, that account have been created with.
    - register IG account with that mail, and right after that change that mail to a new one. You will sleep better.
    - Pick a username, most of the cool short one word names are taken, just pick something that is easy for remembering.
    - Pick a name. Now if your page is about nature in general, but you plan to post flowers mostly, your name should be something like " We Love Flowers". Because Instagram will show your account, if people are looking for flowers. Not only a nature. Anyway...
    - Before you start doing anything to grow your account, make it privet and post 10-20 images/videos

Enough with the broad stuff. I won't go too deep with that boring things, if you need more details for starting, check this forum, got tons of that posts.

Now you have that account ready. You need to grow it. And you have 3 options:

    1. Paid option
    2. Free option
    3. Mix of paid and free

I will tell you what I did and what is my experience. I choose to mix the paid and free option.

    What you need:
    - patience
    - time
    - 300 - 500$ ( in my case) This is in case you choose to mix up the things

    What you DON'T need:
    - a bot
    - fake followers
    - fake followers that will like your posts
    - fake people offering fake service
    - anything fake

You don't need anyone, you can do it yourself.
Now you need to research a bit. Look for big accounts in your niche, save that info on a word file. When you have 5-10 big accounts, just start follow their followers, try to avoid people with no profile pic, and people with profile pic that looks like a company. Do not go thru every account, just do a quick look in the list. What I was doing is to follow 20-30 people from one account and jump to the next one. In this way you make sure to follow the most recent followers of your competitor accounts. There is a big chance those people to be still online and see notification - follow you back. Doing this I was getting around 45% follow back, it's pretty fine.

Now pay attention! DO NOT like random people posts. You must follow this rule. It's like the most important thing ever in this social network. Unless someone pays you to like posts, you just don't do it. The reason is very simple. When you open the IG app and click on the heart icon, this is where you can see Your activity and your Following activity. Simply put you can see what you have done and what the people you follow are doing, what they like, who they started to follow, etc., etc.. Now I don't care about this statistic, but if you are an average user and you follow your friends, they follows you... you will be interested what your friend, boyfriend, girlfriends, bros, coworker, your dog, cat ... are doing. You would wan't to see what they like, who they are following.... you are an average gossip person ( Like my friend Sajo, who's watching everything that is happening in facebook, and this helped me to realize how to average user act ) So this is not a facebook, but the average users are the same everywhere. So.... imagine you have fairy big page and you like someone random person post. Now YOUR followers ( those average users ) will take a look at their "Following" feed and they will see you've liked something. Pretty interesting for them ( for you and me not really, but you are not avg. user) so they will tap on that post, they might like it, if that person has interesting account, they might follow him. What if that person has more interesting account than you do ? What will happen tomorrow, when that average user see on his feed post from you and from that new account he follows and his attention is focused on the other account post ? You will loose that follower attention, because you was stupid enough to show him that new account. It was your fault. Now imagine you have 1 million followers and you do that huge mistake to give random likes to random people. You loose tons. I have tested this a lot. There is no gain in liking random posts, there is just loose. Now the story with the likes is completely different if someone pays you or you grow new account. I will explain a bit later about this.

I was doing this ( the follow/unfollow thing ) a month or so.... now If you need to know some limits on follow/unfollow, search the forum, there are plenty of threads, also there is a differences between botting limits and manually limits. Just search.

Now after a month or so I had around 7k followers and that was the time when I started to buy paid promotions. I did research and I was looking for accounts in the range 2-3m. Collected around 20 of those, not all were in the exact same niche as me, but pretty close. After that I've checked every account in Socialblade.com because I wanted to make sure I will pay for something real. Some of the accounts has lets say 2.1m followers and were gaining 1 - 1.2k followers daily. This is ridiculously low, obviously those people are not doing it right, they just had the luck to be one of the first in IG - no brain involved. Those people are too many and they barely know what they have. Anyway... look for account that has 3-4k new followers daily, this is what you are looking for. Now you would ask why we care about how much he gain ? And not only how many likes he receive on post ? It's very simple, let me explain. In most cases the big accounts post stuff, but don't give like on their own posts - HUGE mistake. If you are a big page and you skip this, you are just loosing engagement, because big part of your followers prefer to check their "Following" feed than their Home feed. They are gossip people, do you understand ? They care mostly what their following are doing, than what they can find in their Home feed. You don't want to loose their attention. They give you likes, comments, they can buy your product and all that. Liking your own post right after it goes live, will boost the engagement, that mean you will get to top hashtags even explore page, depending how big you are and how much engagement you get in the first hour or so.
Let's say you have found 3-4 accounts that are good enough. Contact them and ask about Like prices. You don't need shoutouts. Shoutouts do ZERO, only a person who got no idea how things work will buy a shoutout. People hate advertising, you will get 10x more if you buy likes, and this is done the right way. Just don't waste money on shoutouts.
Now the right way i was talking about: Contact those people, see what they have to offer, pick the best deal. Make sure to explain them this: You want them to follow you and turn ON the post notification, so when you post - they must like it. Explain them that you need to get that like in the first 3 min. after your post goes live. And something very important - explain them that you wan't them NOT to like anything before they deliver you the like and 1 hour after they deliver you the like. If they refuse, just ignore them and look for someone who agree to those terms. This is also very simple.... if this account like your post and few other, the avg. user will see bunch of little pictures of liked posts, his attention is not focused, he might tap on your post, but might tap on someone else, or might say "wtf too many stuff.... fuck it I'm bored" and leave. Some will happen to come to your page, like your post, but really not enough people. The whole idea behind this like paying is to drive enough people in the first hour to your post so it goes viral, or at least you should get enough engagement to appear in popular page/explore posts. And from there you get the organic traffic, followers and more likes to your posts.

Now if you don't have the money, it's okay, you can continue follow/unfollow. Remember do NOT give random likes, I can't stress enough how important this is.
The difference between Paid, Free and Mix method is that you would need more time/follwoers to start growing the organic way. What I mean is this:

When you follow/unfollow, trust me 60% of those who follow you back are doing it for the sake of the follow back, it's like they are saying "okay you followed me, I don't care much what you post, but will follow you back, so you don't unfollow me". The rest 40% of those who follow you back will do it because they like your page. And you will get engagement just from them in future. But when you unfollow, you will loose at least 10% of those 40%, because they will see you've unfollowed them. So at then end when you draw a line from all the follow/unfollow thing you will get not so much, but it's better than nothing and it's free.
When you pay for likes every single person who follows you will stay and will engage, because they came, they liked what they see in your page and they followed.

My first 100k account was in the same niche, I did not paid a single $ for promotions and I had to grow to 110k to start appear in top hashtags and explore sometimes. Now this account I have is at 87k and have much, much better engagement, because half of the followers came from promotions. Saying half, because for around 400$ I was able to get around 40k followers for a month, when stopped I was at 50k ish and from there to 80k again follow unfollow. After I hit 80k I stopped follow/unfollow and now I grow organic from 600 to 2200 new followers daily. Every 3-4 days one of my post ( video, we will talk about this later ) is hitting the explore page and stays there around 3 days.

    Let me talk about posting

Lately posting a video is your best bet. It's very simple. Look for videos in your niche that were once viral. Once viral - always viral. Make sure the video is well forgotten, or at least it was not viral in the last month or so. When you post it, you can make sure you will get the best from it, depending of your account, engagement, etc.
Do not forget the images, they are important too. Mix video and photo sharing. I guess IG has a quality score, so it's good to have them both.
After your post goes live, comment on your own post, add 20-25 relevant hashtags. Remember.... relevant. No use of some spam trash like #f4f #l4l #follow4follow, etc, etc. This is trash that will bring only a garbage.
I post between 5-8 times a day, at least two hours between posts. I don't care if people i reach are from US, Europe, Asia, India or Australia, my monetization goal is different in this journey, will explain a bit later. I wan't to get as much followers I can get.

    Monetization

I will tell you exactly my goal is. I wan't to have as much as followers I can get across 10+ accounts at the end. So this is why I'm aiming 10 000 000 followers. You will find out why soon. Okay that being said, let me tell you what i have tested, which is pretty much everything and what were the results.

    - eBook promotion

The idea was this: create my own eBook for the niche, highly related stuff. Pay to someone to write that eBook, make an awesome cover and publish to amazon. At the end of the book you need something like " Key: I like the rain ". Post the link for the eBook in the Bio and explain people that you will give them free shoutout if they buy your book, and you need the Key + some of their best HQ pictures. They need to mail them to you, along with their username, Key from the eBook and pictures. You see the smart part here, yes ? They need to buy the eBook to know the key. No Key - no shoutout. People in IG are attention whores. They like shoutouts, they like attention, they want to be famous. They will buy your eBook. So explain them it's a win-win situation. They get useful information from your eBook and bonus they get a shoutout. I have explained this on a landing page for that eBook, i wanted to make sure people see the good deal here. And here's the good part: yes, you get money from the eBook, you get content to post AND you get better result in amazon. Because when more people buy your eBook, higher you climb in amazon search for specific keywords. More people from amazon are buying your eBook. Good stuff :) But here's the bad stuff in my method:
Lets say the book you sells is 9.99$, people will buy and you MUST give them a shoutout. What if their pictures are trash ? Blurry, boring, low quality pictures ? You must post them. This affect your engagement. At some point it does not worth to 10$. So this method is good, when your page is in range of 70-80k. And it all depend on what kind of account you have, niche ... you know.

    - CPA

DO NOT DO THIS SHIT ! Unless you want to do some spam, pay for daily banned accounts, and endless crap. I know how to do it, most of you know too, but this journey is not about this. Scamming those poor people who fall in that shit is not making me happy and proud of myself. Anywa, I just wanted to say this.

    - CPI

a.k.a Cost Per Install. This is something better. Now i won't say which network I use, and all that, because many of you are full of hate, I've seen that. So I will explain the idea without being exact. In my niche and my way of growing accounts, I do this: Contact 50-100-200 people I like and ask from their permission to take content from them and post in my account. When I always give credit back. 90% of them agreed, so I legally have permission to use that content. I like to sleep good. So I also have a landing page, where I collect people mails, IG usernames, names and their pictures. They are submitting for a chance to be featured. At the end of the submit, I ask them to verify they are humans and ask them to install an app. When they do that, submission is done. I get 0.15 - 0.90$ per install. Some of them get a shoutout, if I like what I see. Because I won't risk my engagement for some cents and I make sure they understand it's not 100% guaranteed. ( do not contact me for more info about this, I won't be able to help, just do your research )

    - Adsense

Well, I have tested to send traffic to blog, did good ads optimisation, got some results, but to be honest, you can monetize Instagram better than adsense. If you are a blogger it's fine.

    - Teespring

I never found a way to make them buy, even when I was offering a shoutout if they buy a t-shirt. Was not ran the project more than few days, found it boring.

    - Clickbank

This is good. Find product with high gravity that is related to your niche, look for product that has a video in the landing page, those with the videos convert best. If you are in CB, you know what I mean. If you are not, read about this, it's entire new field. So again, you need a tweak here. Just posting link for landing page in your Bio won't bring much, unless you have millions of followers. You need to offer them something. Remember, they are attention whores, offer them shoutout, lag or a mention. use your brain. I cant help you much, because depending on your niche you can come up with different things that will work only for you and nobody else.

Now I have tested few other things, but I really want to skip them, since they were not interesting nor profitable.

Okay, at the end my goal of monetization: Advertise !

Yes, I wan't 10 000 000 followers so I can advertise for the companies. Now you see this is why I post in a range of 2 hours and I don't care what people I target. I just don't care as long as they provide engagement. Yes, I can use all the above methods for monetization, I can even come up with something smarter than the eBook thing, but I don't really need to. I know the big money are in the advertise. In the time I get there, I will use something to get some $, just to keep me motivated, but the big goal is to have many accounts with many followers and amazing engagement.

If you have 200k+ account in ANY niche, it's very easy to find clients. Just take a look at your competitor account, see what paid posts they do, follow the link to the company account, contact them with some reasonable offer, repeat. Explain them that you are looking for long term business relationship and you are ready to advertise for lower price, but for longer time, etc, etc. Won't explain you all this, you know it.

    Now the multi-page growth

I am not there yet. All I have is this 87k account, but i have a plan. Again it's simple.
When I get to 300k - this will be around Christmas based on my calculations, I will create 2 new accounts in the same niche.
Yes, same niche, because it will be very easy to grow them fast, since I have fairly big account in that niche. The method will be the one I was paying for. The like method. You remember what was about ? If not scroll up. I think it will be very easy. When get those two accounts to 150k+ I will create an awesome business site, where i will direct all clients I contact in IG, that have business related with my niche. I will list my accounts and the very different prices for: Likes, Shoutouts, Bio rent space, Simple mentions in new posts, Tags, etc, etc.
From there I plan to give a like for every new post I post. So if my main account post, the 2x 150k will like. you know what I mean, I'll like my own stuff for faster growth. I want an empire!

Probably will grow more accounts in similar niches, but not completely different. Who knows.

If you wan't to ask something, do it here in the thread, no need to PM me.

Okay, wish me luck and enjoy !

This sounds amazing. I read all the way to the bottom.
    I just have one question.
How can you know for sure that getting likes from influencers is that good?
Do you have a script that you send to big accounts when you ask them for likes in exchange for money.
I ask this because most accounts will probably be very confused when you ask for likes instead of a shoutout.
Also, how much do you pay for a like from an account?
Sorry for all the questions. This is just really interesting.

My journey is already started since 134 Days, check it.
You have some good idea about monetization, particulary for the e-book but you are wrong, don't give them shout. Why ? because if the price of the ebook is 9,99$ you will sell for exemple 100 e-books, you'll gain 999$ but you will do 100 shoutouts, you will loose a big amount of followers and your engagement will go down, you'll loose followers and won't grow your account. So, you won't sell more ebooks. So, you will destroy a big account for 999$.
The best way is to give them a feature only if they send a related picture to your account.
Remember : Sell something to followers still very difficult

Clickbank is a good way too because you can sell ebook of other people, but I think clickbank link are forbidden on Instagram (not sure)

Adsense : Really not the best way.

So, I think the best ways to monetize an Instagram Account are :
    • Sell shoutouts
    • Sell e-book
I wish you the best !

I know, because I have tested =) The whole point is account you are paying to be big enough so your post get 5k+ in the first hour after posting. This will get you on explore, or at least all the top hashtags you use.
People are not surprised when you ask them for likes. It was a surprise before 6 months, now most of them know. If you see he have no idea and don't see it as a big deal, try to get the best deal. It's not your problem the guy does not take time to read and understand what he has.

From 2.4m page I paid 240$ for one week likes. The guy agreed to like every single post of mine for one full week. Which was amazing, he clearly had no idea. Because the rate from 2-3m page PER like is like 40-50$.

    Thanks for answering my questions.
    That sounds great.
How many likes and followers did you get as a result of the likes from the 2.4 million page?

what is that math, mate :) So I will sell 100 ebooks, but I will deliver 1000 shoutouts ? I am not offering 10 shoutouts to everyone who buy the eBook. I'm offering ONE shoutout. So if I sell 100 eBook I will do 100 shoutouts.

Lets pretend your math was correct. If you sell 100 copies of that eBook, your score in amazon will get very high, from there you will get passive income for very long time, just from that eBook.

    and this:
" The best way is to give them a feature only if they send a related picture to your account." You clearly have not read what I'm saying. I know my English is not very good, but I can tell you have not read at all.

It was different. The guy sometimes was liking my new posts 20-30 minutes after I posted, it was a lazy kid, but hey.... I took a good deal because he was not competent. So I wasn't making problems about this. It was like 1.5 - 2k new followers a day only from his liking. I was positing 5-7 times a day. So for one week I took around 13k if I remember right.

I run a personal account in the fashion/lifestyle niche and am currently at 22.5k following. I would love to try and buy likes but I have a few questions.

Can you give me some tips or steps on finding the accounts the buy the likes from? What steps did you take to find the accounts? Just from searching on IG?

Also what do you type in the message when you DM them?

    Great thread btw! Thanks!

    Hey Ven,

Nice post and thanks for the tips.

I never thought about the thing you said about likes. Actually i though that no one watched that, but i think that you are maybe right. I will try to reduce the number of likes of one account and compare the results! ;)

Yes, look only in IG, this is your target. Lets say you are in the luxury niche, look for big luxury pages. If they have contact in Bio ( mail or Kik ) use them. The big pages rarely check DM.
Ask them how much they charge per Like, ask them how much the charge per 10 likes or per week, month. When few people reply to you, you will have idea what is the price avg. Depending on the niche, but from 2m page it's normal to charge lets say 30$ per like. If they do it right ( read about this in my post, how the things should go and whet they need to do exactly ) you can expect 1 - 2k new followers just from a single like. If your post get to explore, it will stay there for up to 3 days. That mean it can drive a lot more than 1k new followers. 30$ for 2-3k new followers in total is fair.

Don't reduce them, just don't do a single like. That way you can compare for real. Test this a week and share the results with me.

Wtf did I say hahha XD Sorry, but 100 shoutouts is a really big amount of shoutouts. I have a 113K and trust me, you can't do 100 shoutouts with any pic and keep your followers active.

Yes, I read all your thread and I know why do you "give" them a shoutout, simply to give them a reason of buying your ebook. But you can't do 100 shoutouts with any pics, you simply will destroy the account.
I have a huge Instagram experience, I'm just here to help you

I don't think we understand each other, mate =) First of all, you can't sell 100 copies of your eBook in a matter of days with 100k account. It will take you month(s). You can take one or two not so high quality pictures every few days. Speaking of that, I have explained that I make sure people to understand that we need high quality pictures. 70% of them are sending very good pictures to be honest. So if you trust my math, if you sell 100 copies, only 30 of those pictures that you have to post will not be HQ. Fuck my math, so you are saying that you won't "risk" 100k account for a chance to get to the top amazon eBook ? I'm not even talking about best seller, i'm talking about 30-50$ daily income from that book in the next months, year if you are lucky ? Offer me that kind of deal and i will take it right now.
What you think is going to happen when you start promoting shoes in a car page ? And you will promote shoes in a car page, because they will offer you good money. You will loose some of the fans, but you will take money. There is no way of monetization that will not do harm to your account in some way. The idea is your growth not to stop, the harm to be reduced to minimum and you take the money in the same time.
I appreciate your help, but the logic is just not right. Thank you anyway =)

This is an awesome post! Ven, what are your thoughts on this. I currently have 30 10k+ accounts all in the same niche. Do you think it would drive traffic if I liked one individual account's post from all the other accounts? So every time that one account posted, 30 other 10k accounts (300k total followers combined) would like that post within 3 minutes. I don't know if this could risk a ban or wouldn't work because each individual account is only 10k, but I'd love to hear your feedback

I am not sure to be honest. For example I engaged my father and few of my friends to do what I do, haha. So We have tested to like each other posts. We all are in the range of 40 - 87k and to be honest i don't see something interesting to happen. Effect is minimum if not Zero. This is the reason to think those "like 4 like" groups here in the forum for a total BS. Some people take advantage of other. Anyway I don't want to ruin it for anyone. You can test, if you have followliker you probably know how it needs to be done. About a ban, I am not sure, you should not have a problem. I got experience with mentions, they bring the ban hammar very fast. But liking your own stuff should be okay. Test, please and let me know, im interested in the result.

Hey ven90, just to add, we should also disable "Similar Account Suggestions" for the same reason of likes.

I just noticed that the new followers on my business page are following my competitors because Instagram suggests them after they follow me! I think I've been giving my competitors followers for months this way! :(

I'm wondering about that "linking own post" thing. When I like my own post on my page, I dont see it in the Acticity section when I check it with my personal account...

You can turn off this. If someone follows you, he won't see suggested users in the drop-down menu, BUT if you turn it off from your account settings, Instagram will remove you from suggested users. You don't need to overthink this, you can't stop people going to your competition this way. You better think what you can offer them to keep their attention to you. I never tested the "Giveaway" growth trick, that the big brands and big accounts use, because I'm waiting to grow big. I just don't want to test this and get disappointed, only because I don't have enough followers to go viral. But you can try, look for Giveaway growth methods in Instagram, there are tons of content
