Most people would start a journey thread with $0... well I didn't really want to start writing until I had a solid plan/model to run with.

I have built myself a little empire of fan pages and sites/apps/autoblogs using hootsuite to automate postings to my fan pages I am now at a point where I am consistently making $100+ per day. The great thing about using fan pages for traffic is you don't have to worry about google ranks or SEO every again. You can run autoblogs to your hearts content!

Overall I probably invested $1500 in purchasing fan pages to get myself to this point, and I am buying more each week.

I have linked all my sites so that links to posts from each site appear near google ads.

Traffic wise I am hitting 100k hits a day and growing. I know there must be better ways to monetize this traffic.

My plan from here is to do a few things:

    1) Build more niche autoblogs. My target audience is females 17-30, so I will need to come up with niches that they are going to be interested in other than gag sites and celebrity gossip which I already have and are doing well.

    2) Add more extensive amazon items geared for my audience

    3) Purchase lots more pages

    4) I have a new type of niche app I am finishing off right now that I will be launching off the traffic.

If anyone has any specific questions about fan page management, buying pages let me know. If you have any ideas to add feel free.

How many total fans do you have?

How do you separate your pages? Like do you have them all on one account, or 1 per account etc..?

Great mate. I was thinking of getting into fanpages as well. Can you tell me the most important things to look for when buying a page?
Also a few newbie tips would be real nice too.

Hello, how much fans do you think you will need to reach that 100$? I would also like to know where to buy fan pages.

Hmm..sounds a great idea..although the pages you buy must be really active to get this type of traffic.
How much do you pay per page? :)

I have around 1.5 Mil fans at the moment. I have them all linked to three accounts. My own, my partners are one that we use just in case something happens.

Even our personal accounts have only 2-3 friends, and we dont tell anyone which pages we own.

The most important thing is keep them to yourself, tell anyone out there which accounts are linked to pages makes you a target. I have lost a couple of pages due to hacked accounts in the past.

The single most important thing to look for is a activity. for a 200k fan page, when you post a good funny picture you should see at least 400+ likes.

NOTE: I said picture NOT link. Pictures tend to get a lot more likes than any link, even if the link has a picture.

Second thing is stats.. The best pages are mostly USA, UK and AU fans in terms of CPC.

Third... its really about the seller and the price. There have been a few deals where I was scammed and walked away with nothing, but start buying smaller pages first, say 10-50k pages. Message the owners, don't pay more than $3-$4 per k and only when you trust them do you start dealing in bigger pages.

I personally have a network of 5-10 guys who make a living buying and selling fan pages.

You may be right in a lot of respects, however I think about it like this.

Instead of dealing with content writers, SEO+backlinks or buying traffic I deal in fan pages where I can consolidate the kind of things I know they want to see into my own private branded network of interlinked news/gag/gossip/gadget sites.

Once you start promoting them and people start liking and commenting on pages the traffic just takes off even further.

Once I introduced hootsuite into the mix I was able to consistently pick up 100+ per day.

Once I have completed this app I am working on my next plans are a different sort of app, one that scrapes funny pictures and quote of a database of fan pages, takes the ones with the most likes and comments and reposts them onto my fan pages.

If I integrate that with my blogs its pretty much hands free traffic.

$1000 a day is my goal!

Start a thread, I'd love to follow.

I am not really too interested in viral apps so much. What I am building is a skinnable niche targeted app that has the usual viral parts you see in other apps, but does it like a pro.

I am a developer by trade and day job... its what I love the most.

I spent a couple of weeks working on a chat code maker app.. but I couldn't get it off ground due to facebook canning fan pages attached to it (because of how I used fan pages to upload tiny bytes of images but that's another story.

Long story first... I am designing set and forget type apps with long standing appeal

Where do you buy your pages from? Just contact the owners directly? Is there a trusted place? I haven't found any one source for consistently good pages, which has kept me from entering this market..

I buy them mostly from other marketers. I was pretty deceptive of what to do in the posts above.

The key is messaging page owners on pages were you see jokes and gag images where they promote their own sites. As mentioned keep messaging page owners. Get them on skype and start with small pages.

Its all a about building the relationship. Yes you may get scammed by a few along the way so keep initial sales to pages under $100 and pay 50% upfront and 50% after the transfer.

Dont tell your friends which pages you admin. don't tell anyone. People get jealous and tell friends who tell friends and that's how you end up becoming a target for hackers to try to steal your pages or simply report you for spam.

When it comes to spam on pages it's really a case of An individual's views of what constitutes spam. When or if your page is reported for what ever reason, the manual work to check the page is done not by a trained fb employee at first, but cheap labour outsourced to micro job sites. What they deem as spam depends on how lenient they decide to be.

Hello mate, thanks for the share.

We would appreciate if you could share specifical techniques (if you don't mind doing it) you actually use to monetize those pages... business model? Type of monetization? Source of traffic? Maybe a quick tutorial would help, for sure :D
