[Journey] Ebay UK Dropshipping to $780 p/m ($130/780)

I started this Ebay store almost 6 months ago with no money

I listed a few products and didn't put in any effort for the first 2 months, I listed 3-5 products and I made a few sales & around $30 profit in the 2 months with no effort, HUGE SURPRISE

Month 3
I figured I could maybe grow it into something real, my "end" goal was to pay for 12 months Wordpress and start something with facebook ads/dropshipping

Month 3:
Added new products in similar niche,
Added some print-on-demand products (low expectations)

I sold a few of the new products and 2 of the POD, (good confidence boost) as well as

My Profit for month 3 was just over $70 ($20 old items / $50 new)

Month 4
I am looking for similar items/niches, also do some self promotion (Facebook comments, Reddit ect)

Month 4:
Add additional options for my best selling item (bundle) - (again low expectations),
Add a few more items, (same niche)

: I had some issues with customer returns; I refunded customer and got refund for my suppler, no issue
: My supplier ran out of stock for a few of my items, lucky it only effected 1 order and customer was ok


By the end of Month 4,

Only 1 POD sale, bundle items selling good, so are original items

My best selling product changes (same niche but no good bundle options)

My Profit for month 4 was just over $155 (1 refund due to delivery time, small loss)

Month 5 (December)
+ I figure out who im selling to (may sound stupid with-out context)
- I realize my niche will die and this will kill my top 2-5 items...
: I wish I was more prepaired for Christmas

Month 5:
My original products are still selling good (bundles slow down),
My new #1 products starts to slow down but still #1
Made improvements to my "bookkeeping" Excel doc,
List more products (similar niche)
Found a new product (very confident in)
Added to Ebay Store, (sale on first day)

I am currently working with the supplier on new designs and have somehow managed to drop the costs of the new items by almost 80% ( im a wizard ) and If the product preforms well I will get the price even lower I hope.

I have also launched on new platform and have had 2 sales in my first week there, I will try to keep this thread mostly about the ebay progress unless anything exiting happens

I have a list of Niches I want to list products for as well as a few other ideas.
I have a few ideas with the new product but just testing the response so far


My Profit for HALF Month 5 (1st - 12th) (around $160)

I have not done bookkeeping since the 12th,
Christmas sales haven't been to crazy so I expect around $200-230 profit for December.

I have made enough profit to pay for wordpress and a little left over, but I don't know if this is the best way to go, or if I should work on growing my Ebay store.

I want to dropship the newest item I have found and think it would do really well with ADs

I don't think I would ever get that "winning product" on ebay but more of a steady income if the niches last a while - anyone have experience there?

If you have any free advice for selling on ebay, growing sales, any restrictions I might get in the future.

no bans yet 100% feedback, I haven't used aliexpress as shipping times to UK are so high but I will when I use facebook ads on my own site

December Profit : $278.19

found a new supplier, working through posting 150 item, 10-50% margins,

November products are selling well, plan on reducing price to build up data to start running ad's in February

Total Products listed: 220 (rising to 300+ after I finish the 150 list)

Total Profit (6 months): $691.95

January Goals:

• Finish 150 List. (300-500 total listings)
• 50-100 Total sale for November's Product: to build data (expecting closer to 50)
• $270 Profit in January (consistency)

Haven't updated in a while, here's a quick one.

January:
Sales # 125
Sales $2339.87 (£1892.29)
Profit $865.37 (£1070.06)
Had a good month, very happy with the growth

I have also started a second store, with around $100 - $150 profit per month,

what I did: added a few more products to main store, built second store, learned basic stock tracking,
Feb's goals: I had a goal in mind of $1250, (£1000), £35 per day profit = £1000

February:
Sales # 146
Sales $3253.70 (£2631.32)
Profit $1005.56 (£811.77)
A little under the the £1k goal

I was super lazy in Feb and barely listed anything, I think I listed some products on the new store but nothing big

I had some trouble with the 2nd stores selling limits but resolved for the meantime,
I started selling on Amazon, a massive headache but I think I resolved the issues today and sales should be good

I might need to spend some money for reviews and search placement, I will look in to that

My goal was £1k, I got £811 for one store and around £100 from the other but I am happy with the month
I just need to stop spending money on junk.

March goal: I don't think I will reach because I haven't put a lot of effort into the stores in march but

Goal is £1k from main store,

I have listed some more products recently and built a better relationship with 2 of my suppliers,

I am a little worries about 1 (paul) but he seems pretty genuine and constant ,

March (till 6th)

Profit $99.97 (£80.85)

I am about to list on amazon uk, then the other amazon markets ( a lot of work)

Holding funds for 90 days, couldn't contact due to covid-19

Managed to contact after 1 week, said they would check the hold in 1 month

Checked after 1 month and have not removed the hold and asked me for more info

Purchase receipts from suppliers, business info ect,

Have submitted the info but £1k on hold in the account with 10-15 orders that I wouldn't dispatch till hold is resolved

I have hear this hold is quite hard to win but I think I should be okay

Have contacted customers and said order processing and deliver times may be upto 1-3 weeks, most customer are okay as they assume coivd delays

I should hear back from the first submitted documents in the next few days but I expect they will need more info before hold is lifted

Once the hold is lifted I cannot see any further paypal issues

In other news, I have built a website and started selling on Amazon EU,

that's why they call it GayPal, keep contacting them, and try to ship customers order with Amazon sales you got, as their patient is not going to long much

A little update

Been super stressed dealing with Paypal issue for the past 2 months,

Issues have now been resolved and I should be working right now

But here goes,


MARCH PROFIT - MAIN STORE

SALES # 162
SALES: £3949.98
PROFIT: £842.99


Around the 25th of March, was when the Paypal issues started, so I had to cut back on alot of my products
Still a really good month considering the issues with Paypal. but didn't feel like it at the time.

APRIL PROFIT - MAIN STORE

SALES # 141
SALES: £1344.91
PROFIT: £797.94


With the hold and issues from paypal, I think I did really well to make this much, but sucks because everyone is shopping online during the lockdowns, and my store is running at like 25%

During the past 2 months I have built a website around one of my best selling products from Ebay and I have also listed on Amazon with okay sales so far

Amazon is a pain in the ass to get set-up but seems to be okay now that everything is set-up
I decided to go with Shopify rather than Wordpress for my website,

I have built the site, listed products with descriptions and images, done a little bit of SEO but lots more to do, I am still on trial but will buy and launch the site once I have made a little more money (now Paypal is fixed)

I am also only a few steps away from being able to make different designs of a niche item I sell,

The cost to produce will be less than £1.00 and I am currently selling for £9.99 with multiple sales per day

Rome wasn't built in a day, don't expect to succeed over night,

Don't give up

For every hurdle you need to jump over so many people will have fallen, make the jump and on with the race.

hi, what is the ebay fee? I know there is a option to have a store right? is more profitable than to sell without one? I live in uk and i have some ideas of products to sell, i sold few of them and want to scale it, thank you and goold luck

Dropshipping can easily be done from other websites. There are tools for this which make this experience of dropshipping more autopilot.
