Hello Everyone,

I have started a job site back in May 2020. I have been waiting for my first earnings to start a journey thread here.
Now it's August 2020 and here I'm.

Long story short. I purchased a job site from @patadeperro in May 2020 and started driving social traffic in various ways.
I have never worked on similar project in the past and it was a very good learning curve for me. After about 3-4 months of promotion and stuff, I started to observe some good results.

Here is the snap from my Google Analytics dashboard for the period My 2020 - Aug 2020:

There was no promotion for first few days. And I was relying on social traffic throughout the period. I use Reddit and Facebook for the promotion.

Absolutely no effort towards SEO in terms of backlinks for first 3 months. The only effort was towards making the website reliable and fast enough for the candidates.
There was no enough movements observed in first three months in GSC. Now, I observe it's little bit shifted up. I know this will take time and hope things will get better in coming days.

SEO efforts ->
Almost no backlinks except the review service received from @Stan Fox .
But guess what one of the major institute in the US decided to promote us!
Well, no direct backlink though, it's kind of complicated. I don't want to explain it here.
Hope they won't stop promoting us anytime in near future :)

Earnings are mainly from paid subscriptions and Adsense.
  1. Paid subscriptions -> To be honest, I didn't pay much attention towards lead generation. However I received 2 paid subscriptions so far without any effort.
  2. Adsense -> My Adsense account was approved on June 2020 (mid of the month). I tried some experiments and started putting ads from month end. Earned around $410 on the month of July. Completed initial formalities and received my first payment on my bank account. Earned around $630 for this month so far.
Total expense so far -> About $1000
Website script from @patadeperro -> One-time (About $100)
VPS ->
Monthly (About $100 per month) (Upgraded from shared plan to VPS on July)
Hiring freelancers to make multiple code changes to fix bugs and making it more reliable -> Occasional ($200)
Social promotion -> Occasional ($300 spent so far)
Bing Ads and Quora Ads-> Occasional ($150 spent so far)

Earnings so far -> $438
Adsense -> $410 (Another $630+ on the way against this month earnings)
Paid subscriptions -> $28 (2 low level plans)

I will post next update after few weeks. Hoping for the best :)

Have a look at some relevant CPA offers. I always did a ton better with CPA offers on jobs sites than adsense and I've had well over a hundred of them.

BTB,
I do have a maxbounty account, but no conversion at all. I tried them for about 2 months. All I got was 2 leads and $5 in earnings.
I didnt get my adsense approved when I had maxbounty at early stage.
Tested Adsense for 2 weeks and received nearly 10 times more earnings than that of CPA.
For me, Adsense is doing better than CPA.
Do you have any suggestions?

looks interessting,.link of your page please if possible

Also have a job site from patadeperro. Literally getting organic clicks every day since I loaded it onto GSC and the site is only a few weeks old. Starting to promote now that it's adsense approved. Will definitely keep an eye on this and would be great to discuss some methods etc :)

I don't know that MB has offers that are generic in nature as to jobs as what I recall is that they have specific companies in there for CPA offers.

It has been about a year and a half since I had my last job site but most have been specific companies and I used domain names that were catering to those companies. Not sustainable but super good for a 4 - 6 month churn and burn site. UPS, Amazon, Uber, etc and I would get my domains taken down after a bit.

You are building something more sustainable which is what I did when I started in that niche and I started with adsense (this was like 12 or 13 years ago) and then thought to test it with CPA offers. At the time Snag A Job was a CJ affiliate offer and I tried them out and did much better. I believe they paid out like 1.50 per lead or so as opposed to the .15 - .20 per click with adsense and my revenue went up quite a bit.

Not sure Snag is still offering an affiliate program but there are some that are out there that do and probably pay better than the 1.50.

Have a look and see if there are any generic ones in MB and you can also hit up Revenueads as well as I remember the having some generic ones.

It is worth the test but if the playing field has changed and adsense is giving you a good bang for your buck after testing keep on trucking.

He could also monetize with both, right? He could use adsense in his website and also promote these generic "job" CPA programs by creating a new job in the website himself, right?

Yes there are lots of options. But I decided not to compromise the quality, because we can't guarantee the genuineness of some of these CPA offers. Some are just collecting emails with a "legit" looking website.

I'm impressed...
Did you start with a new domain or an old one?

$100 monthly for your hosting..????

$100 monthly for your hosting..????
I honestly thought I was the only one who saw that. It's outrageous unless he has other big websites hosted on the same server. But $100?????

Yes. Good host with managed plan will cost more especially if you're going for VPS or dedicated server.
Regular $10 per month plans will have lots of limitations and Google is smart enough to understand whether you're a serious business or not by looking at the server performance and other characteristics.
Basically you should be willing to invest in more against the infrastructure (when your site grows) to earn even more.
Note that I have multiple paid addons in the server such as BitNinja security (for ddos prevention) and other server optimization addons.

Sounds like he may be renting a dedicated server instead of a VPS.

I am ranking #1 for 20k volume terms on shared hosting. You're throwing money away..
