Wassup,

I'm posting this journey primarily to have a place to organize my thoughts and look back at my progress. Here we go.

The Goal:
- Have an "authority site" in my niche and monetize the traffic with Amazon Affiliate and AdSense
- Traffic will be organic/free at first (SEO, Social Media) but I'm gonna focus on backlinks and other stuff further down the road

Starting Position:
- I found a niche/keywords that seem easy to rank
- I already have hosting, a good domain name, a fitting WordPress theme installed and I put up 2 Posts already
- I've signed up for Amazon Affiliate in 3 different countries
- Also got all the amazon disclaimer/cookie compliance/privacy policy stuff done
- Right now I plan to allocate 2 hours a day to this project, in the future I might be able to do more when I finish up on some of my other life responsibilities

Planning:
- got ideas for 30+ more posts / keywords
- I plan to drive additional traffic through IG and TikTok at first, might spread to other SM later on
- I'm gonna use quizzes because that's perfect for my niche

To-Do:
- fully understand Amazon OneLink, if it's useful
- write posts
- decide on pillar articles
- find a good quiz plugin (one that allows ads)
- get the website approved by AdSense
- make a store page
- build a mailing list
- build up social media profiles
- get additional content ideas from reddit

Focus Chain:
build up Content/SEO -> start building up SM profiles -> get AdSense Approval -> make quiz content -> start a mailing list -> build a store page -> Phase 1 done.

- Project time horizon: 6 months

I plan on doing weekly progress updates. For the first week, I won't set any goals. After seeing what is possible for me to accomplish within a week, I'm gonna try to improve by 1 percent.

Here are the general guidelines for the upcoming week:
I'm gonna figure out whether and how I can download and use pictures from amazon on my website, aside from using API.
I will write posts that are at least 500 words long, each with a CTA/Product recommendation at the end.

Can you please tell me what is this? Please

If you're asking me what Amazon Affiliate is, a quick google search will answer your question.
If you're asking why I signed up for three countries then that's because my website will be worldwide. So if I get a lot of traffic from three different tier 1 countries (USA,UK and France for example) then I want to send this traffic to the corresponding amazon sites don't I? Send all French Visitors to Amazon FR, all American Visitors to Amazon US, etc. It's called geo targeting.

Amazon requires you to sign up for each country if you want to have an easy time monetizing the traffic.

Good luck.

Thanks guys

Amazon requires you to sign up for each country if you want to have an easy time monetizing the traffic.
So suppose I need to sign up for amazon associates from each 5 country if I am getting traffic from 5 country? I mean I am learning this and about to go into amazon affiliate site too and I didn’t know that I had to sign up for each country
Can I pm you?
Thanks a lot man

First progress update:
- I figured out how I can use Amazon product pictures without getting my account banned, which is an absolute pain but I found enough workarounds
- instead of writing posts I got a brilliant idea for my cornerstone articles, so I went and started building those pages instead
- took me a while to figure out how to build the page design without paying someone/for something, but it turned out well in the end
- I started putting in some of the written content, about 500 words I figure (still a lot to go)
- I also found this great post made by @Nerva here on BHW, a really great piece. Everyone starting out on an Amazon Affiliate journey should check it out @Letsseeificanwin
- I also installed some good/recommended plugins, festinger is an absolute saint for that, thanks bro
- worked on some SEO

Targets for next week:
- Finish up the first cornerstone content piece and publish it
- clean up the About, Contact, Policy pages
- install more needed plugins and increase site safety

Good wishes to you bro! I also started mine a month ago!! ;-)

Good luck on your journey as well! :)

Second Progress Update:
It's been a slow week, I've been exhausted a lot so I didn't have the energy to do concentration work on this project.
So I just read a lot about SEO and writing web content instead. A little lazy, I know. But it's just been a bad week. Looking forward to this one.

I also decided to view this project more like a training ground to test out the SEO stuff I'm learning. This takes off the pressure to "make it good".

Site progress:
- optimized pictures on site, site speed is pretty good now I think
- signed up for the rest of the Amazon Affiliate Countries, activated OneLink
- made FB profile for the site and got restricted/banned immediately LOL, didn't have the nerve to deal with this, FB just wants my mobile number to sell it anyways, what a pain
- scouted some good subreddits to "advertise" for my site later on

Good Luck you can do it.

Thanks, I'm gonna do the best I can

Third Progress Update:
Bounced back, I'm satisfied with this week's progress. But it's no joke when they say your projects gonna take 50% longer than what you originally planned. Man, it sure is a lot of work.
Regardless, here's the progress:
- Cornerstone content page is 90 percent finished, just need some finishing touches, it's a big boi
- created a nice About Page, as well as Terms and Disclaimer Pages
- I have about 5 posts ready to publish (only 17 more to go ...)
- I'm having a lot of fun designing the pages and it looks nice, but maybe I spent to much time on this, since writing the content is what's really important for now

The target for next week:
- going all-in on writing content/posts, I know exactly what to write and how to lay it out, but other tasks always seem much more appealing haha, I'm gonna be more disciplined coming week
