[Journey] Building a Blog from 0 comp keywords and unanswered PAAs

BTW, I feel a few people are still writing/publishing manually, under a radar. Think @leit , @Anon9109 , @molcho , @some_nextman etc. I have also some info about Bloooop that kind of explains his "disappearance" from here, but it is not something I feel it is right sharing here, unless he does it himself.... But maybe he will reappear sooner than you think ;). So do not worry, you aren't alone in your writing inferno :D.
Man, I want to be part of the gang :p

I'm gonna try my damnedest to keep on top of my article writing and updating my journey. Maybe one day you lot will tag me :anyway::D

Total articles published: 67

Keeping the pace at more than 1 article per day because a new blog needs as much quality content as possible asap. I checked other journeys and I think I'm the only FOOL writing more than 1 article/day MANUALLY. Kikerinka is busy with his non-profit, Bloop disappeared, molcho has exams, Aleksandar and others are outsourcing. Even Shaun "the content machine" Marrs can barely write 1 article per day nowadays due to burn out.

Everybody else under the sun is into AI content.

I tried outsourcing several times, even at $50 per 1K words I didn't like the quality. Maybe I'm picky, but the guy at $30/1k words had better quality than the $50 dude. These prices are so relative. But it the end, it's much better to write the first 100 articles myself because I know the niche.
You're smashing it mate, keep up the good work!

I've been thinking about outsourcing content again but I just can't bring myself to do it, at least not with the blog I'm currently working on.

Maybe I'll grab a new domain purely for outsourced content and see what happens. Then again, I'm just adding to my workload so let me stick with the one blog first!

Remember I wrote "etc" at the end of the list of names. Maybe I meant you there :D.
Anyway, will check your journey later on and no doubt I will tag in the future, as long as you keep it going :)

Are you bulking a couple of PAA in the same article, putting them together and answering them in one article or you're creating a unique article per unique PAA?

Man, I really wish you luck from the bottom of my heart!
I really believe everything in this business stands for "the winning of the spirit over itself" - you just persevere. You build a habit. It's really that simple.
Just persevere man. I hope in 1 year you won't even believe the progress you've made. In two years you'll surely be in a different place.

I will shift into high gear until I reach 100 articles and then I will lower the pace a bit and focus on the support site.

The support site is the one I'm building from the expired domain and wbm. I published about 20 articles from wbm and sent them to the indexing API. Will publish 20 more this week. After I restore all the non-trashy articles I'll let it sit for a while.

Thanks man! I will keep it up for sure.

Thanks! I will check your journey.

I put a few per article.

Nice to see your journey. Is your niche less known.

I'm going to use 2 techniques to get content ideas. The first one is from my previous journey, abc soup combined with checking serp results, which gives me 0 comp keywords that rank ASAP.
Following your journey

But what is abc soup method?

This brings a kickass motivation for me to put more time on my one of ed domian, it's traffic is still sucking. Consistency matters here a lot.

I'm close to 100 articles, been writing like crazy but I need a few more days.

No change in traffic, still very little, which is normal at this stage.

The support site got its first GSC click. It was from Yahoo.

But what is abc soup method?
Search alphabet soup on Google or YouTube. It's not easy to explain in writing.

I'm glad you feel motivated. I'd say it's more about critical mass than consistency. If you reach a critical mass of posts you will be rewarded with topical authority and then you don't have to be consistent as much. Although it doesn't hurt to be consistent all the time, obviously.
How do you get visitors from Quora, where do you share your link? Do you answer questions with your link?
I post the link in the answer. But the trickle of visitors comes from just 1 question so most questions aren't bringing traffic.

I won't focus on Quora though, it's mainly a SEO journey.

First goal reached: 100 articles published.

I wrote 108 but the remaining 8 articles are scheduled (2 per week). This gives me a free month to take a breather, go on a little holiday and maybe tackle the support site a bit.

I'll let the articles age and will report when I see a traffic boost.

Until then I'll focus on the support website and in November I will begin writing more articles for the main site too.

UPDATE

Today I arrived home from my "little" holiday which ended up longer than 5 weeks.

3 months have passed since I started this journey but the traffic hasn't arrived just yet. Looks like my blog is sandboxed, even though I use very low comp keywords and especially my favorite 0 comps.

I can't tell if I was hit by the G updates because I didn't have traffic before the updates either, so tough to say.

How's the traffic?

The GA traffic is coming from 1 quora link.

My next goal is to crack the sandbox. I won't just aim for 0 comp with potentially good volume, but I'll also pick kws with very low volume, just to force G to rank me and start building that topical authority.

Great Journey blogmen! But how do you write so much? How well-researched are your articles and how many words? you seem like a powerhouse!

Ahhhhh! Feels so good to be home and doing my thing. Cold outside, cozy inside, peace and quiet while typing a good article.

I just wrote an inspired piece of text after finding fresh and juicy keywords. It's nice to work when you haven't been working in weeks and especially since I don't have any deadlines/goals to how many posts to write.

I also played around with EAT and improved it. Shit feels way too legit already, it's like it was built by Catholic nuns and smells like soap. Damn it! I really need to get into blackhat and pillage some innocent algorithm... Maybe one day.

But how do you write so much? How well-researched are your articles and how many words? you seem like a powerhouse!
Last year I was very slow with writing. But with this new project I was fueled by my previous success, I think I can do it again and bigger, so why not write like crazy? Also I was inspired by Shaun Marrs, he is a true machine of content generation. The research is minimal because A: I know the niche and B: The format helps (answering questions).
