Hi, my name is RC.

I'm a long time income school follower.

I have tried their approach and created a blog. Its a fairly new site ( 2 months old) so base on income school teaching I shouldn't be getting any income anytime soon.

I understand and (somehow) believe on their philosophy and I believe given that you are putting out quality content and with some time you should see some success.

But I'm an impatient person...

So I looked for faster methods and found out about RankXL.

So I decided to drop the income school site and decided to create a new one using RankXL method.

This is a 'battle of methods' case study with @Big Ron which is based on income school.

(But still I have a gut feeling income school will do better with the current seo environment.)

RankXL method is exactly the opposite of income school where you'll build Pillar Post from the start and build backlinks immediately, once you build authority any of your new post will rank fast.

I think this method fits my personality better. But I'm still unsure if it's going to work in 2020.
Who knows.. Only way to find out is to DO IT.

So here's what I have ticked off my to do list so far:

  • Bought Hosting from Hawkhost
  • Domain from namesilo
  • Setup WP website and installed OceanWP I bought from wpnull.org for 4$
  • Purchased ahrefs subscription from a seogroup buy (works fine so far) - 6$ a month
I already have 2 articles up but they are no where near pillar post level.
So the target is to create 3 massive high quality pillar posts 3-4k words each by the end of this month.

I'll plan to outsource 1 out of the 3 pillar posts on 199jobs.com from Filipino writers costs 4$ per 500 words. Dirt cheap but the quality is decent. I have tried 3-5 writers before I found a really decent one.
Of course, I'll do some minor editing on the content since most writers there are not SEO acquainted.

That's it for now.

Thanks for reading!

Don't neglect your old site while doing this. Sometimes, you just need to give websites some time to age. Post a new article once every two weeks, or even once a month. Trust me, you'll be glad you did later on. Good luck with your new journey and whichever strategy you choose, just be sure to stick with it!

Good luck, interested to see the results of this since I’m using methods similar to Income School

Be patient dude. Stick to something and you'll see results.

Following along. Wishing you much luck and success. I hope you meet your end goal.

Interesting go for it! Will you build backlinks to the homepage? And will the homepage serve as a pillar article or just a place to showcase your posts?

How many words do you aim for your site in total

For this month of January according to RankXL method 3 pillar posts with atleast 2k words each then start building backlinks
But I'll go beyond that - maybe 3-4k words each so around 12k words for the pillar posts for this month of January

I already have a hit list for the 30 initial posts maybe I'll let it marinate it a bit and then add some content from time to time

According to RankXL the homepage should just be a simple blog roll similar to what's income school is already doing.
I will start backlinks first on the 3 pillar posts maybe the entire month of February will be mostly focusing on backlinks.
The key here is to build authority on your site quick so your succeeding posts will rank faster.

Your journey sounds great as you are following the RankXL method. This will be a totally new approach as compared to Bigron. I am really very excited to follow your journey. Best of luck with your journey.

BTW are you going for amazon affiliate site or AdSense?

Thanks!

What strategy will you follow to get backlinks to your site?

Which backlink strategies will you focus on and in which order, will you start with X and then move on to Y?

How will you keep a stable link velocity to not get penalized?

What kind of backlinks does this strategy recommend? Start straight away with top tier backlinks like PBNs and niche edits, or start with things like Web 2.0 articles and blog comments?
