Hi there and welcome to another bloody boring journey thread!

This will not be one of those "I will rank my dog to the first spot on Google in two seconds while eating mac 'n cheese and smoking weed" type of journeys, since I'm in it for the long run.

Some of you might now, but just as a quick recap I'm currently a university student in "bonnie" Scotland, studying law and what not. I've seen great many threads here about how to balance university (or college for those of you on the other side of the Atlantic) and I've always tried to help the best I can, since I have managed to find a surprisingly good balance and to make some "mony" without selling any of my organs (at least not any of the vital ones).

I recently started my own company, and it is acting as my "base of operations", through which I do all my online work. I currently have mostly translation work on the side of my website projects, though with Richard (meln) we have wondered off to a new adventure with a content providing service.

I'll be updating this thread from time to time, whenever there is something worth telling you guys.

P.s If anyone of you manages to rank their dog to the first spot of Google in two seconds while eating mac 'n cheese and smoking weed, do tell, would love to hear more about it.

Oh, and yeah, the goal of this journey is to manage the balance between studies, social life and IM, and to eventually graduate with a first class degree.

Now, my first post on this journey was meant to be longer, but due to an unexpected circumstance (neighbours who suck at cooking), I had to exit the building and watch firemen storm in after a moment, so I decided to post it even though it was only in its makings. But that is about to change.

I've spent a moment gathering my thoughts and pieces of motivation from all my separate projects, and am now attempting to refocus my efforts, with an aim to tackle those projects one by one. Not all are worth too much of a notion in the thread, and some are projects that I do not wish to disclose here, so the posts might sometimes mention a project that is not too well explained before moving on to the next one. That will usually be on purpose, but if you have any questions I'll do my best to explain whatever the question is regarding to.

So. What have I been doing for the past few months? Mostly freelancing, building some sites on the side. Nothing major, but that has taken a little turn in the last few weeks.

    Do, Did, Done.

Started my own company when the calendar turned to the second to last page, and have been working under a different set of rules and regulations since that, for about a month now. Does bring a sense of success in your head when you can finally say that "I am an entrepreneur!", though unfortunately sometimes things are not as simple as they seem to be. Or should be, to be honest. Currently in debate with the local council regarding their support for acquiring an office space for myself, and since apparently I am not a job providing company, at least not yet, I would not get the support hey usually provide to start ups. Oh well, still have a year or two to fit in those guidelines, and who knows, maybe I don't have to.

The company has started real well, got one of the other items off my check list when I recently hired a VA for myself. Granted, it was a risky move in a sense to hire a person to work for me without having too much money in the bank having just started out, but it really did pay off. I have been told by many more proficient in this field than I, that an employee should not be an expense, they are an investment with a magnificent return, IF done right. Guess I did something right, since my VA has worked his butt off in my service, managing to earn me his upkeep and more, and thus deserves a nice Christmas bonus and some time off. Don't be cruel to your employees people, they are just humans after all. If they don't deliver the way you wish them to, don't just pointlessly shout at them and make them work more without extra pay. Think, "How can I make this situation work?" Sometimes the answer unfortunately is to let the employee in question go, but those decisions should be made with great consideration.

After I had hired my VA, I started formulating this idea in my head that I had gotten, an authority content service, into something more concrete. Having met and befriended Richard on my journey of freelancing as a content writer and translator, I hit him up with an idea. Content by published authors, delivered by us, to our clients, at an affordable price. And that's when Content Baron was born. Not to turn this into a complete affiliate pitch, I will now talk about boobies. They're great, especially if the pair in question is a rather upscale sized pair of female breasts. Big man boobs, not so much.

Finally got the BST out with my friend Richard (meln here on BHW), and got to selling. Took a surprisingly massive amount of time (talking about months, not just days or weeks) to find ourselves a capable team of writers who deliver when required to do so, and who have the merits to fulfill our criteria. But, that is a project of the past now so to speak, it doesn't require any "extra" effort to be put into it since everything is in place now. The things is, our plans for expanding the service further do require work... And some secrecy :cow04:

My company also owns and operates a few websites now, all of which "came with me" when I formed the company, to keep all my internet marketing efforts under one roof.

Apart from internet marketing a lot of things have happened, one being my move back to the UK to attend university far north in the bonnie highlands of Scotland to be precise. As mentioned in my otherwise pathetic first post, this thread is also aiming to promote my serv... *Ahem* to be of assistance to others who are in the same situation as I am, with university, internet marketing, girl/boyfriend and other social life coming into one big summit at the same time at seventeen different locations, with me trying to figure out what exactly should I do.

I think I've got up with the past affairs rather thoroughly without any overtly dramatic or sexual remarks of imagery. Good. Let us move forwards then.

Oh, one thing. Balancing internet marketing, university, health/fitness and social life all at once is not an easy task by no means, and it requires patience and organisational skills. With barely enough memory between my ears to find my shoes from my feet, I have brought in help to keep track of things. This help is called a whiteboard, and together with Evernote, it is very convenient in keeping up with my affairs. Still doesn't allow me to be in seventeen different places at once, but maybe someday that will be made possible.

    NOW..

Backtrack a little bit, I actually forgot. I'm heading to UnGagged London 2015 next May, and hope to see as many of you there as possible!

Ok so NOW... I'll get into the projects that I'll be working on next aside from running Content Baron and the few existing websites.

    1. Expanding Content Baron to some new markets, targeting some new customers. And this is one of those things that I will not speak too much while in process, maybe later if and when we have successfully moved it forwards. Not to worry though, we won't be leaving BHW without our premium authority content any time soon.
    2. Try my hand at a second round of micro niche sites, with having my roots in IM there with those efficient little buggers. Inspiration to this is RK's niche site journey that can be found here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...100-per-day-profit-niche-website-scratch.html
    3. Set up an authority site, but this project is still in a development phase, as starting an authority site is not something you should rush into in my opinion, with a long term profit far in the horizon already, making stupid mistakes and having to come back fixing them later would just unnecessarily move the profitability that was far in the horizon to even further in the horizon. Have to be careful that profitability won't fall down off the edge of the world you see.
    4. Last but not least, I have some plans to widen my customer base for my company, providing them with more services than simply content and translation. This is another one of the long term projects, but fortunately enough I already have some consistently ordering clients and monthly packages running, so I have no need to rush into anything with empty pockets.
    5. Just kidding, I do have a fifth project. That is #SummerAbs #FatToFit and all that other IG bullsh*t. But there is an actual goal in this all. Since leaving the army last spring, my dietary habits took a turn from rational and consistent to irrational and everything but consistent. Time to turn that ship back around and start hitting the gym a minimum of three times a week, combined with a 2-4 times per week 30+ minute run to get back into shape. I have a feeling this will be definitely the most difficult one. Saw a thread about dropping the carbs, maybe I'll give that a try as well.

And there you have it! My projects that I will work on in the duration of this journey, or at least the ones I will begin this with. I still have quite some time until graduation, which is the ultimate goal of this thread. Then to the starting point.

For the MNS project I already have two niche sites, which I will do a bit of testing with, attempting to rank and grow one with purely my own doings, no outside help or services of any kind, and the other could be one that I outsource the content and SEO from BHW to. Now yes, I do have a content service of my own, and if you think this will be one of those "Mine vs yours" comparisons, it will not. I simply prefer to test whether or not I can beat those who sell services such as these, content and SEO wise, and which one is more important, content or SEO, as I know I can write high quality content that is simply not possible to be provided at low rates, but I also am not an SEO "wizard" and thus I suspect the ranking of site B will be much faster. Also, the content I will be buying is not going to be authority content, but rather I'll try out some of the service providers here who provide the cheaper content (Not looking to judge the quality with the word cheap, I just have to separate the difference here). Both sites were bought from a seller here some time back, so the starting point is the same for both.

What else... Ah, I've reached out to a domain seller here on BHW for a domain for the authority site project, I'll wait and see if he has any good ones in store that I could use, hoping for something brandable. After that it's onto the keywords for that domain.

The #FatToFit project is on halt until after Christmas, as I will not start torturing myself over Christmas as the food tends to be delicious  So, #FatToFit Bootcamp begins 1.1.2015! Until that, shut up and let me enjoy this pizza.

And the track for the moment is....!

Norway's gift to world. Otherwise they just hug salmon and bathe in oil. Greetings from a Finn to all the Norwegians.

There, better than the first one, that's for sure. Took me a good 45 minutes to write this (three hours if you count the two trips to Domino's, seven trips to the fridge and one to the toilet to throw up). Yes, I'm fast. Was fun, see you next time!

    Good luck mate.
You have a promising start and you have the mindset to reach your goals.
PS: Are you doing the #FatToFit part for your health or just for the looks?

Mostly health, I'm happily in a relationship (=I can walk around in my slacks without shaving my beard, at least until she realises I'm doing it again) and I've never been one to feel pressure about my looks. I'm a handsome devil anyways, what's there to worry in life!

But yeah, 80% health, 20% looks I'd say. Nothing shameful with the additional motivation coming from wanting to look a bit better, when the main motivation comes from the want to feel good and be healthy.
